This is a story that I started writing about a year and half ago. I only have the first chapter so far. The reason I'm taking my time for this piece, is because I want it published into a book, one day. To me, quality trumps quantity every time. I hope you all enjoy. Also, I'd like help on how to properly format novels/short stories, feel free to message me on the proper etiquette.

*****

It was a warm, but breezy night as I walked towards my apartment after my last class. My professor had assigned our final exam as a group project and allowed us to pair up with one classmate. The project was to build a website for a business of our choosing, or if we were to have our own corporate franchise, to make it fit the needs of our company. Kyle and I chose to team up, since we usually kept to ourselves in the back of the class and talked often. He's the only classmate that I talk to and hang out with outside school. He's my absolute best friend.

As I turned the corner to my apartment, I stopped to admire the starlit sky above me. It was bright, beautiful, and serene, but then I shivered as the breeze caressed my bare arms. I reached the apartment complex ten minutes later while trying to get the keys from my purse. I stepped inside and dropped my stuff onto my bed before heading into the bathroom. As I set the water to a comfortable temperature for my bath, I stared at myself in the mirror as I began to undress quickly. I admired my long, dark purple hair with its natural wavy twists and turns as it rolled from the bun I had it in, down to my waist.

The color of my eyes were a light violet, nearly matching my hair, but not close. I ran my hands from the top of my head, down my curvaceous, hourglass figure and back up to my wonderful 36C breasts with their bright pink nipples. I slid the palms of my hands down my body, to my flat stomach and naval. I smiled, enjoying how every slight touch sent a signal through each nerve in my body, giving me goose bumps from head to toe. I slid my hands lower, passed my crotch and down to my smooth legs. They were soft, but powerful and ever so flexible due to my yoga classes and daily exercise.

I went back up, between my thighs as I stared at what I was born with. I sighed, looking at my flaccid penis, with testicles hanging just below. I ran my hands up and down my length momentarily, then down my balls and between my legs, where my vagina resided. My doctor told me I was one of the rare cases that are born with both sets of genitals, when I was old enough to understand. My parents treated me horribly, not only because of what I was born with, but also because of all the alcohol they drank and the fear of me being different from "normal" girls.

They always blamed me being different on themselves, saying they shouldn't have done this or that when they were younger, however, when they drank, it always became my fault that I was born this way. They'd say "You're cursed and you'll never find anyone to love you for who you are, let alone appreciate you for who you are," among other painful words.

As I grew older though, I began to ignore their snide remarks of hatred and spite. I got a full time job, saved up my money, and ended up where I am today. I shook my head, forgetting the past, locking it away into the back of my mind. I heard a knock on my door, three times. I quickly wrapped myself in a towel and briskly walked to answer it.

When the door was opened fully, there stood Kyle in his usual clothes. Don't get me wrong, he dresses pretty well, so well that you'd never suspect he was a computer geek until you got to know him, but I found that charming about him. He wore a regular pair of blue jeans, tennis shoes, and a nice white shirt with a button-up shirt over it.

"H-hi Kyle...you're earlier than expected...it can't be eight O'clock yet..." I looked at the clock, then hit myself in the face, open-palmed. I had been so caught up in my thoughts, I lost track of time. "I was just about to hop in the shower. You don't mind waiting, do you?"

"No, it's fine. Is it alright if I just sit on the couch until you're ready to get a head start on the project?" His voice was smooth, alluring, and mildly deep.

I allowed him to step in and pointed to the couch. "I'll try to finish as quickly as possible." Turning on my heels, I ran towards the bathroom, holding my towel close to my body while I slammed the door. I hopped into the bathtub and grabbed the body wash container next to me and the shampoo just under the shower head, hanging on the rack.

Thirty minutes later, I was out of the shower, wearing a yellow skirt and white tank top with sunflowers on it. I looked over with my eyes, keeping my head towards the window. I caught him looking at my breasts and smiled. "Shall we start on the project or are you too preoccupied by something else?" I giggled while his face turned a bright red. As Kyle and I got to know one another throughout the year, I gave him little hints that I was different from other women, but nothing major.

Two hours later that night, we had finished half-way through the project. We both saved it onto our separate laptops and external hard drives. I didn't have A/C and the windows were already opened. I looked over at him with a sincere, but kind smile. "Are you okay with me removing my top, it's really hot in my little abode."

I watched him look away, then back at me before nodding. "Well, it's your living space. Do whatever makes you comfortable." I watched as he tried to fan himself with the paper fan he made from a sheet of notebook paper.

"I'll do that and get us both a glass of water." I stood up and swiftly removed my shirt, tossing it into his lap as I power walked into the kitchen to get some water. "Would you like ice?" I waited for his answer before getting his glass.

"Yes, please and thank you Ophelia." I heard the ruffling of clothes from the other room. I assumed Kyle had removed his shirt as well. I walked back in and handed him his glass of water.

"Here ya go." I kissed him softly on the forehead as I gave him his beverage. I stood up and flipped a switch on the wall, turning on the table fan. "There, that should help us cool off." We both sat in silence as we drank our glasses of water. "Ophelia..." Kyle sounded sad as he said my name, almost in a depressing manner. He looked at me with watery eyes.

"Yes, Kyle, what's wrong?" I sat closer to him as I slid my arms around his waist. "We've been friends for almost a year, come August. You know you can tell me anything."

He stood up, bringing me with him. Now, I'm 5'11", but he's at least 6'5". He has sandy blond hair, bright green eyes, and has an athletic figure with plenty of muscle, while weighing at least 220 pounds. He must have hit the gym a lot, which is unusual for someone who works with computers.

"My parents called earlier today, shortly after class. They said that my grandfather, Daniel K. Phillips, had passed away due to losing his battle with lung cancer...I tried to be strong and not let it get to me...but I can't hold it in anymore..." I watched as not only one of my few friends, but my best friend broke down into tears.

I pulled him into the biggest comforting hug that I could as I let him cry on my shoulder. "It's okay to be upset about losing a loved one. I understand the pain. I lost my grandma about two years ago."

We both sat back down as he cried for a little longer before calming down and wiping his tears dry and blowing his nose. "Kyle, would you like to stay the night with me?" He looked at me, slightly surprised and with confusion on his face. "What? Are you sure?" His eyes were filled with a quizzical expression.

I smiled at him before responding. "Yes, I'm one-hundred percent sure." I softly kissed him on the forehead. "You're the only person besides my grandmother who's supported me and been there for me whenever I need someone to talk to, now I want to do the same for you, plus it's late and you don't need to be driving as upset as you are. Also, I won't take 'no' for an answer."

The couch pulled out into a bed with a decent mattress, along with sheets and a blanket that I had already laid out on it in case I were to ever have someone stay the night. "Alright, if you need anything, I'll be in my room. Otherwise, I'll see you in the morning, okay?"

He nodded in silence and rested himself on the couch for the night as I headed to my room for sleep...

I woke up in a slight daze, then took a deep breath. I caught a whiff of something...

Bacon, eggs, french toast, and orange juice...but I hadn't made the breakfast, so where did it come from? I got up and walked into the kitchen to see that Kyle was the mastermind behind the elegant fragrances that filled my nostrils. "Hey there...who said you could use my supplies to make breakfast?" My stomach grumbled and growled. I covered my stomach as I blushed with embarrassment.

Kyle looked at me and smiled, "I'll pay you back. Tomorrow's pay day anyway. Here, eat up." He held the plate out to me so that I'd take it and eat. I reached my hands out and took the plate from him before sitting at my little table as I began to scarf down my food.

As I sat there and ate, I took one bite at a time, savoring every morsel of food that slid into my mouth and onto my tongue. The food tasted great and I took my time, savoring each bite. 'Wow Kyle, you're pretty good at cooking! I never would have guessed." I grinned as I went to put the plate in the dishwasher, after I gave him a quick peck on the cheek.

I looked at him as he stood there, red in the face. "What's wrong Kyle? Never been kissed by a woman before?" I teased him as I caressed his cheeks with my fingertips. "Or...did my kiss trigger a different reaction?"

I gasped as Kyle brushed my hands away. "Let's finish this project first, then we can get to know one another better, plus with as smart as we are, we'll have it done in no time flat." I couldn't help but feel butterflies and happiness with the dedication he expressed for his work.

We sat in the living room, bringing our project to a close before submitting it to our professor. After two hours of putting on the last finishing touches, we took a break. "It's twelve O'clock in the afternoon. Since we're almost done, we can finish and submit it later tonight but for right now...maybe...we can...go to the park?" I looked at Kyle with puppy dog eyes and a pouting face.

I watched as he nodded. "Sure Ophelia, we can spend some time together at the park, maybe swim in the lake too." I turned bright red when he mentioned swimming. "What's wrong?"

"N-nothing...it's just...maybe we should hold off before we see each other that close to being naked. And last night was an accident with the towel thing. Depending on how things go, maybe in due time you'll learn why." I looked away, out towards the window and the miles of blue sky that went on and on.

I turned to walk towards my bedroom when I was spun around on my heels and facing Kyle once more. "W..." I didn't have time to get the words out of my mouth as he gripped me in a tight hug. I was having a hard time breathing, but returned the embrace. Something inside me yearned to be closer with Kyle, emotionally and physically. But I hesitated, only knowing him for a year. I didn't want to take that kind of step, not until I am one-hundred percent sure of myself.

"How about after the park, we get some ice cream, and get to know one another a little more back here...is that alright with you?" I looked into his warm gaze and watched as he smiled at me.

"Yes, that's fine by me." The next thing I know, he swoops me up and carries me to my room, gently resting me on my bed. "I'll go get the food ready while you get yourself ready for the day or what's left of it. Haha." And off he went, into the kitchen.

I closed and locked my door as I quickly stripped out of my nighty, panties, and bra as I let everything free. I blushed as I looked down and examined the hard on I had. Damn that man makes me hot. More so than I've ever been, but he also makes me wet enough to soak my thighs and legs too... I slid my hands down to my groin. I grabbed my rod in my right hand and used my left to play with my smooth, freshly shaved slit.

I was as quiet as I could be as I rested on my bed, opened my night-stand drawer, and pulled out my 6 inch by 1.5 inch vibrator and slid it as far as it'd go inside my dripping slit as I grabbed the lube and squirted a copious amount onto my right palm as I slid my hands up and down my shaft, slowly at first, before I went a little faster and came quickly all over myself and my bed. However, I was so caught up in my pleasure, I hadn't noticed the knocking on my door.

"Ophelia, is everything alright? I heard noises coming from your room and I wanted to make sure you were alright...may I come in?" I shot up and quickly cleaned myself off with a wet wash cloth that I kept in my room in case I get too lazy to go to the bathroom. "Not yet!"

I quickly rummaged through my drawers and found a regular pair of white cotton panties and a matching skirt and top, forgetting to put on a bra, purposefully. I brushed my hair aside and opened the door. "Is everything ready, Kyle?" My breathing was still heavy and I was still a little dazed from my self-exploration. "Well...?" I asked innocently.

I could tell he was suspicious and on his guard. "Alright, we're ready. Sandwiches and drinks are ready for the day!" Kyle grabbed the basket as I led the way towards the park after locking my door.

I finally get to spend some alone time with my friend...my only friend. He's been there for me through everything. He was the first person I told about my parents among many other secrets, but he still doesn't know about what I was born with...I just hope that when the time comes, he won't turn and run away like every other man and woman I've had feelings for. Only time will tell...

We finally arrived at the park after about thirty minutes of walking in the warm weather with its comforting breeze. I rolled out the picnic blanket as Kyle set down the picnic basket. I adjusted my skirt and sat down on the blanket next to my lab partner. As time went on it began to get warmer and the breeze began to die down.

"So, Kyle. What do you think our grade will be once the professor has checked out our amazing assignment?" I chuckled a little bit as I took a sip of my ice cold wine. Then I looked over at him to see that he had the biggest grin I'd ever seen. I looked over to see what he was grinning about. It was just another college girl with some of her friends. I snapped my fingers in his face to get his attention. "Hey Kyle...are you there? Earth to Kyle!" I clapped my hands inches from his face as he still stared off in to the distance.

He looked over at me, then blinked a couple of times as he came out of his daze. "Oh, yeah. I'm sure we'll be fine, after all, it's not due till next Friday. We finished an entire week early. That had to be the easiest final I'd ever taken in my life. After all, not one, but two computer geniuses worked on it." He looked at me with a small smile on his face.

I watched as Kyle took another bite of his sandwich before throwing the rest of it out to the ducks, which quickly swarmed around the food like they hadn't eaten in days. Then he went through the basket and grabbed the other bottle of wine and poured himself a glass. "Ah...red wine is my best friend, but only on special occasions like this."

Kyle chuckled a little as he drank his glass of wine while looking up at the clouds in the sky. "You know Ophelia, even though we've been friends for quite some time now, we still don't know too much about one another. For example, I have a younger sister who I'd do anything to keep safe and out of harm's way, due to her being the baby in the family. She's always telling me how guys from higher grades try to hit on her because she's more...developed than some of her friends and other girls in her grade level. But she gives them fair warning that she's seventeen and they back off. My family is very open-minded when it comes to things that relate to sex. The one thing my parents like to talk about most, is sex...that gets a little out of hand at times..."

I looked at him with widened eyes. "That's not awkward? Dude you talk to your parents and younger sister about sexually related things. How many families actually do that? Mind you, I was an only child and my parents treated me like absolute shit when they would drink too much alcohol. So, to me, what you said is a little weird and in my eyes unusual. But I can respect your family's values. I'm an only child. My parents stopped having kids after me, fearing that the rest of their children will turn out like I did. Different..."

I let out a small gasp as Kyle lifted my head so that we were eye-to-eye. My breathing became a little heavier and I started to get hot flashes. NO! Not now, oh God PLEASE not now! I could feel my body react to his touch, I tried hard to control myself. "Um, Kyle, how about we take the swim now?" I blushed a little, trying so hard to keep my hormones under control.

"Huh?" He seemed taken aback, but slowly regained his composure. "Uh, sure. But I thought..." He stopped talking as he saw the fierce look I was giving him. "Okay. No more words. Let's go swim then."

"Good. I'll hop in after I finish my wine." I took another swig as my body began to cool down and my hormones returned to a more relaxed state. That...was too close for comfort... I got up and began to pack everything as I walked towards the water. I looked up and giggled as Kyle tried to fend off some ducklings that were following him in line, as if he was their mother. "I'm coming Kyle!" I took off my shirt and dove in head first. I opened my eyes, to find a shocking result. The water was crystal clear. I could see everything, from the bottom of the lake to the world above my head. It was rather unusual to be honest. I have only heard of at least the Bahamas having water this clean and clear.

I looked down, and realized that I had intentionally forgotten to put on a bra this morning. I looked over at Kyle with a wide grin on my face, who couldn't help but ogle at my bare breasts. I covered up my chest with my arms and swam to the surface, slowing lifting my head above water to see if anyone was looking in my direction. When I realized that the coast was clear, I got out of the water and ran towards my clothes and threw on my shirt. "That...was fun." I smiled at the thought of almost being caught as I had ran for my clothes.

Kyle resurfaced and walked over to me. "What happened to your bra?" He wore a confused look on his face. I looked right into his eyes and smiled, but I did something daring. I walked up to him and held his hands in mine. Slowly guiding them up my shirt along my bare skin, to rest his palms right underneath my bosom.

"I intentionally left the apartment without one. I didn't feel like wearing one today so I just threw on this skirt, top, and panties and away I went. I don't really have a bathing suit of my own though. Never thought to buy one..." Giggling, I looked up at him again. He didn't seem upset, but he didn't look too happy with my decision either.

"You should have at least talked to me about this first. I could have asked my sister for a few. I'm sure she has plenty that would fit you. Next time, let me know if you need something before making a decision like that, okay?" He sat next to me and wrapped his arms around his shoulders after free himself from my grasp.

"Well, it's okay. You're the only one who saw my breasts anyway...I know it wasn't the smartest of things to do, but I wanted to have a little fun. To be a tease, for you. I enjoyed it quite a bit too." I stood up as I began to pack our belongings trying to hide my reddening face. "Anyway, what's next?"
