It was three months after the divorce papers had been filed before Grace would allow Katie to meet with Chris.
Since the night Shaun had beaten up his wife the clandestine lover's contact had been confined to the secret mobile phone and delightful as the remote sex had been it was no substitute for the real thing.
Katie dressed carefully for the occasion thankful that the bruising had completely gone. Shaun had taken his company car with him so she had rung for a taxi and at Chris's suggestion also packed an overnight bag.
He used the remote entry phone to let her into the building and was waiting on the landing. She came out of the lift and straight into his outstretched arms.
"This is where you belong my love, I'll never let you go again."

Iamcurious999over 5 years agoThis story certainly doesn't describe a painful divorce. "A Painful Marriage" would have been a much better title. The long overdue divorce was a blessing to everybody concerned, especially since there were no children involved.
Except for that, this was a very nice read. Four stars, at least!

MitchFraellabout 10 years agoKatie's meetings and dealings with Shaun (and Grace's come to that,) seemed somehow lack a bit of detail. For example, the short argument and not much talking. Otherwise an excellent story, well worth reading.
