"Paula. Over here!" Gemma yelled, beckoning her over to the corner table.
"Oh there you are, hiya love!" she replied, grabbing her drink and joining her friend. Paula always looked forward to going for a drink with Gemma; she was the only really close friend she had at work. She worked at the desk directly opposite her in the office and they had got on really well ever since Gemma had started there almost eight years ago, she was about the same age as Paula; mid to late forties so they had quite a lot in common, liked the same music, same TV shows and so on. It had been a while since they had managed to get together outside work because of one thing or another. The only problem was Gemma always insisted on meeting up at the same place, The Gardens, a God awful wine bar in the centre of town. It was always full of executives or managers, the sort of arseholes they spent all week working with. 'Oh well,' she thought, 'at least it gets me out of the house for a bit.'
"Sorry I'm late Gem, bloody taxi."
"That's alright love, sit down." the buxom blonde said patting the chair next to her.
The usual clientele were scattered around the place, even on a Saturday afternoon it seemed to have plenty of suits hanging around, ' where the bloody hell do they all come from?' Paula thought as she took a sip from her glass.
"What's your Dave up to then?" she asked putting her glass down.
"Oh Jesus, don't get me started on that pillock, a gorgeous summers day like this and he decides to start re-tiling the bathroom, you ought to see it, the place looks like a bomb's hit it, I had to get out he was doing my head in!"
"Oh dear, not going well then?" Paula smirked.
"You must be joking, he knows fuck all about DIY, I wouldn't be surprised if I get back and the daft twat's stuck himself to the wall or something."
Paula laughed and took another sip from her glass.
"I'll bet your Wendy's enjoying the sun now the holidays have started," said Gemma.
"Oh yes, her and her mate Sarah seem to spend all their time in my back garden sunbathing and getting pissed."
"Sarah, that's the little blonde girl with the glasses I saw her in town with isn't it?" Gemma asked.
"Yeah that's right."
"She seems a nice level headed sort of girl."
"Hmm...Most of the time, yes." Paula replied.
"What d'ya mean?"
"Well when I was getting ready to come here I heard a load of screaming and laughing coming from the back garden; when I got down there I found the pair of them rolling round on the lawn squirting each other with the hosepipe, old Mr Giller next door looked like he was going to have a heart attack watching them!"
"Oh, he was out creosoting his fence again was he?" Gemma laughed.
"Oh yeah, funny isn't it; whenever any of us sunbathe he's out there with his brush in his hand, I dread to think what he's got in the other one!"
"So what did you say?"
"Well I bollocked them didn't I, I mean I don't mind them relaxing out there and having a few drinks or even smoking the odd joint, I'm not even bothered if he likes watching us but I draw the line at staging mud wrestling for the dirty old sod!"
Gemma laughed and finished her drink, "Oh come on, they're just letting off a bit of steam Paula."
"Letting off a bit of steam? You ought to see the state of my lawn, honestly I could have throttled the pair of them; there they were with stupid pissed up grins on their faces blaming each other for starting it, they're like a pair of bloody kids sometimes!"
"Getting under your feet a bit then are they?"
Paula shrugged and smiled, "No not really they're good most of the time and Wendy's never been happier, Sarah's a really good friend to her."
"Hmmm," Gemma smiled, "same again?"
"Yeah go on then," Paula replied handing her the glass.
The pair spent an enjoyable afternoon having a good laugh, bitching about people at work and having private jokes about the various suits wandering round the bar.
"Honestly Gem, I don't know why you insist on coming here, the place is just full of self important tosspots."
"Mmm, I don't know, I think I just like watching them all strut about thinking they're something special."
"Where the hell do they all come from?"
"No idea," Gemma shrugged, "I think some of them work for that Advance Intelligence place, you know over at the Crown Park estate."
"Crown Park? but that's bloody miles away! Why the hell would you come all the way from Crown Park to drink in a crappy wine bar in Merrington?"
"Search me, anyway love I'll have to get going now, see if my house is still standing."
"Okay Gem, I'll see you on Monday," Paula smiled, giving her friend a peck on the cheek.
"Bye love."
Paula finished her drink and was about to leave when she noticed a blonde woman in large sunglasses enter the bar.
"Oh my God, it can't be," she muttered to herself, only when the woman removed the glasses was she absolutely sure.
"Fuck me...it is!" she exclaimed, attracting some peculiar looks from the suits at the next table.
Paula watched as the blonde said something to the barman then went into the ladies, she hesitated for a moment then decided to follow her in. As she entered she found the blonde huddled over the basins washing her hands.
"Hello Saskia," Paula said softly.
Saskia felt her insides wince, she recognised the voice straight away; slowly lifting her head she saw a face from her past smiling at her in the mirror.
"Well well, Paula Taylor what an unexpected pleasure," she sighed turning round to face her, "What are you doing here?"
"I met a friend for a few drinks, what about you?"
"I just thought I'd give this place a try, but I don't think I'll bother now," she replied darting past Paula and heading for the door.
"Saskia wait!" Paula yelled, running after her and eventually catching her up in the bar.
"What!" the blonde said sharply.
"Come on, have a drink with me just one, my shout......please."
Saskia looked at her for a moment, and then sighed.
"Alright, but just one I'm driving."
The pair ordered their drinks and sat at the table, Paula smiled warmly as she looked at her old adversary, she guessed she must be about late thirties or even early forties now, she couldn't remember exactly how old she was. She still looked very striking with her shoulder length platinum blonde hair, those steel grey eyes and her stunning figure, only more dominant, powerful looking, dressed in a smart black skirt suit.
"I wasn't sure it was you until you took your shades off, I don't believe it, how long is it since we last erm...met?"
"Nearly twenty years ago, autumn 1994 I think," Saskia replied smiling nervously, "It was our fourth fight."
"That's right I remember now, four fights, four draws, Patricia stopped pairing us against each other in the end."
"Yes, I remember."
"Do you still fight at The Society?"
"Not so much nowadays, Patricia made me her deputy a few years back."
"Ohhh yeah?" Paula smirked, nodding her head.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Oh come on Saskia, all the other girls knew you were her favourite, you were one of the prettiest girls on the roster."
"It's got nothing to do with that!" the blonde stormed, "Years ago she helped me get a job with my current employer, so in return I agreed to be her deputy and help her find new girls to replace the ones that left, okay!"
"Alright, alright calm down I wasn't having a go at you, bloody hell, you're still the same touchy little sod now that you were back then aren't you?"
Saskia slammed down her glass and glared at her.
"I fucking knew I shouldn't have stayed for this drink, you had to bring Patricia into it didn't you? It wasn't my fault you had to leave!"
Saskia got up to leave but Paula grabbed her arm.
"Let go of me!"
"Saskia please, I'm sorry, at least stay and finish your drink, I promise I won't mention it again, let's change the subject, tell me what you've been doing all these years."
The blonde rolled her eyes, sighed and sat back down.
"Fine, fine I'll stay," taking a sip from her glass, if she was honest she wanted to stay really, anyway she would only be going home to an empty house.
The pair spent the next half hour or so talking about what had happened in their lives since they had last 'met'. Saskia's stomach churned every time Paula mentioned Wendy but managed to smile through it, other than that, the blonde had actually found their little reunion quite enjoyable, they even shared a few laughs; which years ago would have been almost unthinkable.
"Right, I really am going to have to leave now Paula."
"Okay," Paula smiled, "I'm going myself now anyway."
As they made their way out into the car park Paula turned to the blonde and gently kissed her on the cheek.
"Thanks for staying; it was really nice to see you again, honest."
Saskia smiled, looked at her for a second, and took a deep breath.
"Look, if you've got nothing to rush home for you can come back to my place, I've got a spare room, you can stay the night if you want and I'll drop you off back home in the morning."
Paula could feel her heart racing as she gleefully accepted.
"I'd love to, thanks!"
"Come on then, I'm parked over here."
"Nice car," Paula said, as they walked over to the BMW.
"Mmm it's okay, it's quite old now, almost a classic but it gets me about."
"Well it's a lot classier than my Mondeo," Paula replied, slipping into the passenger seat, "Where do you live these days?"
"Beechmount, I've got a three bedroom house on Minerva Grove."
"Beechmount? Jesus! You must be on some bloody good money to afford a place up there."
"I do alright I suppose," the blonde smiled, starting the car.
About twenty minutes later they were driving through the centre of Beechmount, a small rather snobby village about 15 miles outside Merrington. It was the sort of place where bankers, traders, and rich retirees lived, the only 'normal' people you saw were the gardeners, housekeepers, nannies and various other trades people who looked after them. Paula looked out of the window at the huge houses as they glided past, she couldn't wait to see which one was Saskia's. Eventually they turned into Minerva Grove; the houses were smaller along this road but still looked very expensive.
"Here we are," Saskia chirped, turning into the driveway of a white 1930's art deco house.
"It's stunning," remarked Paula.
"Well it's certainly a step up from the grotty flat I had 20 years ago when I was at Uni."
She opened the front door and they stepped inside
"Just go into the lounge through there and I'll fix us some drinks," the blonde smiled, heading into the kitchen.
"Okay,"
Paula went through the door into the lounge and sat down on the large red leather sofa, on the fire breast there was a painting of two naked women embracing on a bed, on another wall was a framed photograph of a younger Saskia standing in a cap and gown holding a scroll. Every wall was heaving with awards, certificates and other accolades, it seemed like her whole life was hanging up there.
"You've certainly kept yourself busy all these years," the brunette said as Saskia entered the room with two large glasses of whisky.
"Yep, I always like to push myself to be the best at everything I do," she replied, handing Paula a glass.
"Yes, I remember," Paula smirked taking a sip.
"Hmmm," the blonde smiled back at her, knowing exactly what she meant.
Saskia studied Paula as she relaxed on the sofa, despite it being almost 20 years since she had last seen her, she hadn't really aged that much, maybe a little in the face perhaps but she still looked a lot younger than she actually was, 'She must be at least in her mid forties by now' she thought. She still had her hair in the same style, tied back in a ponytail; the brunette looked at her and smiled, her beautiful piercing green eyes had a playful sparkle about them.
"I like the painting it's very atmospheric," Paula quipped.
"Err, yes I had a local artist paint it for me." the blonde replied nervously," that's a nice dress," she smiled, trying to change the subject.
"Do you like it?" the brunette asked standing up and smoothing the thin white cotton dress down over her figure and fixing the blonde with a lustful gaze, "I've had it for years."
Saskia nodded and took a large swig from her glass.
"Would you like to see the back garden?" she asked, swallowing hard.
'Not as much as I'd like to see your bedroom,' Paula thought, smiling," Yeah okay."
She followed her into to the kitchen and out through the patio doors.
"What do you think?" Saskia beamed as they sat at the table.
"It's beautiful," Paula replied, surveying the neatly trimmed lawns and rose bushes," I take it you don't do any of this yourself."
"Do I buggery!" she laughed," I have a gardener to do it all, and I have Mrs. Potter to look after the house and to sometimes cook for me."
"How the other half live, eh?"
"Well why not?" Saskia shrugged, "I've studied and I've worked damn hard to get where I am, would you like another drink?"
"Ooh yeah, have you got any wine? I'm not really a whisky drinker, Sas."
"Oh sorry erm, yeah I think I've got a couple of bottles in the fridge."
As Saskia went back into the kitchen to get the wine, Paula settled back in her chair, the sun had now disappeared behind some very ominous looking dark clouds but it was still really warm and clammy.
"There you go," said Saskia, handing Paula a large glass of white wine.
"Thanks, looks like we might get some rain."
"Yeah, they said it might break today, typical isn't it I get a few days off and the weather turns," Saskia moaned.
"At least it's still warm," Paula chirped, "come on let's give this wine a good hammering and have a proper catch up."
"Yeah why not?" the blonde smiled topping up their glasses.
The pair talked away a couple of hours, quickly finishing off the first bottle and getting most of the way down the second. Sensing that Saskia was now pretty relaxed, Paula steered the conversation in the direction of The Society, asking if it had changed much.
"Yeah it has a bit, the money's better than in our day for a start, £200 basic."
"Blimey!, it was £100 back then wasn't it?"
"Yep that's right, and £250 for a win, £175 each for a draw." Saskia replied.
"Well we had enough of those between us didn't we eh?" Paula smiled, reaching across the table and gently holding the blondes hand. Saskia shifted uncomfortably in her chair, not quite knowing how to react; she decided to do nothing and let her keep holding it.
"Belle's still there," she smiled nervously feeling her pulse quicken.
"You're joking!, big Belle? She was there before I was, I fought her once," Paula smiled gently stroking her thumb over Saskia's hand.
"Did you win?" the blonde asked jokingly.
"Erm...let's just say I came a distant second."
"How distant?"
"She battered me 5-0," Paula laughed, "I was young, naïve and I needed the extra money."
"Oh dear," Saskia smiled, entwining her fingers with Paula's.
The brunette leaned over and gently planted a kiss on Saskia's lips.
"Why did you do that?" she asked, the tingling sensation building in her stomach.
"You know why." the brunette replied softly.
"Paula, please let's not do this," Saskia sighed.
"Come on Saskia, one more time, I know you want this as much as I do, why else did you bring me back here?"
Suddenly there was flash of lightning, followed a few seconds later by a long low rumble of thunder.
"Please Saskia; don't you want to find out if one of us could actually win?"
"What does it matter? It was twenty fucking years ago!" the blonde scowled as a second flash of lightning lit up the garden, "Come on let's go inside before it starts pissing down."
A massive clap of thunder boomed across the sky as the blonde stomped off towards the patio doors but before she could get there Paula grabbed her, spun her round and kissed her, pushing her tongue hard into her mouth. Saskia struggled at first, trying to fight off the lustful feelings she had stamped out of her memory for almost two decades.
"No Paula...no please don't!" she gasped, feeling her resistance ebbing away.
"Come on Saskia, no referees, no timers, no crowd, just you and me," Paula whispered, pushing the blonde against the door and kissing her again.
This time instead of resisting the blonde responded, pushing her tongue deep into Paula's mouth and pulling on her ponytail, there was another flash followed by an explosive thunder clap as the rain began to fall, gently at first but gradually getting heavier. Saskia pushed back against the brunette and she fell back over the table, she clambered over her and resumed the kiss, the rain now drenching the two women as they clawed at each other's clothes.
"Okay bitch, you want this? Then let's do it!" Saskia hissed, tearing open Paula's dress and pulled her white lacy bra down, revealing her firm breasts and erect nipples. Paula looked up at her in disbelief as she tried to push off her wild eyed assailant.
"Oh you bitch, my dress!" Paula shrieked as she tried to pull open Saskia's jacket.
"Come on Paula this is what you want isn't it?" Saskia laughed, standing up and tearing the dress completely open, exposing Paula's tiny white thong. As the blonde tried to make a grab for it, Paula kicked out, knocking her sprawling back onto the lawn. She jumped up off the table and pounced on her before she could get back up, pulling off her skirt and spreading her legs.
"Aaaghhh...fuck!" Saskia wailed, trying to wriggle away over the drenched lawn.
"Where the fuck d'ya think you're going?" Paula laughed dragging her back and slipping her fingers inside the blonde's skimpy red silk knickers.
"Ohhhhhh....no...no!" Saskia groaned, feeling Paula's fingers massaging her throbbing clit.
"Oh yeah, remember how good I used to be at this Saskia?"
"Oh you fucking bitch....aaaaggghhh!" Saskia shrieked as she tried to pull Paula's hand away.
The rain was now lashing down, turning the lawn into a muddy plot, the two women continued to fight tearing off the remainder of each other's clothes, completely oblivious to the storm raging around them, their bodies entwined as they rolled over and over, each trying to gain an advantage. The pair were now totally naked, their hands slipping off each other's rain soaked bodies, with a sudden hard push, Paula managed to roll the blonde on to her back; she tried to wriggle away but the ground was now so slippery, she couldn't move. Seeing her chance, Paula slithered on top of her trapped opponent and began to grind their pussies together, making the blonde cry out.
"OH MY GOD...NO NO...OHHHHH FFFFUCK PAULA!"
"Oh yeah, just like old times heh Sas?" the brunette laughed as another bolt of lightning flashed across the sky followed by loud a crack of thunder.
"OH NO PLEASE...PLEASE DON'T...I...AAAAAHHHH!"
"Come on Saskia!" Paula scowled thrusting harder, "I was the better girl then, and I'm the better woman now, give it up bitch!"
"NO...NO...FUCK YOU BITCH!" the blonde shrieked, grabbing Paula's wrists and pushing back for all she was worth.
The two old rivals thrust their bodies hard together, each determined to break their opponent, their eyes firmly fixed on each other looking for the first sign of weakness, after a while it was clear to Paula that Saskia was beginning to loosen her grip, her mewls and groans getting louder and her breathing quicker; the brunette smiled broadly as she pushed her weakening opponent ever closer the edge.
