When he was home, Paul mostly sat on the couch and watched TV. The show didn't really matter to him, it was just noise and movement to distract his brain. He couldn't watch football anymore, because he couldn't help but think of Leila then. Paul saw little point to life except when he was around his grandchildren. Everything else was a dull haze of irrelevance.

One early evening, the doorbell caused him to drag himself off the couch. As he passed the dining room, Paul tried to recall if he had eaten dinner. He wasn't successful at remembering but decided that he would pretend he ate and be done with it.

The smiling faces of Sandra and Jason at his door cheered him somewhat. They both hugged and kissed him, then Sandra made an announcement.

"There's someone we'd like you to meet." They stepped farther inside, then Sandra called. "Leila, come on in."

In stepped a beautiful woman that Paul immediately recognized as Leila even though she wasn't quite Leila. She had the same shapely figure, the same gentle signs of maturity, and dark hair and eyes. Her face was mostly Leila, but instead of looking Mediterranean, this Leila looked Latina.

"Hi, Paul. I can't tell you how happy I am to be here with you." The new Leila was clearly ecstatic, yet apprehensive.

"Leila?" Paul turned his quizzical look from Leila to Sandra and Jason.

"We decided that it would be best if you had Leila back." Jason explained.

"So, we got you a new Leila, but she's really Leila," Sandra added.

"Wait. That would have cost you a small fortune." Although part of him was euphoric at the hope of reuniting with Leila, the unlikelihood of the entire situation had Paul focused on the details, not the outcome.

"It's alright. We figured we owed it to you, and that you deserved it." Sandra's conviction was obvious.

"I'm touched. I really am. But Leila was unique. There can't be another one." Inside Paul was thinking that he would give this new friend a chance, but she wasn't Leila.

"We know that, Dad," Jason jumped in. "Don't you recall that Leila's personality was uploaded to the Friend-Tech mainframe? We had her personality transferred to this new Leila. No two Friend-Tech friends look exactly alike, but you have to admit she's awfully close."

Paul looked at Leila II, and she looked back at him with the sultry sensuality that seduced him the first time they met. Leila took a step closer, "It's me, Paul. Completely me in here. I'm still getting used to this body, but" she touched her chest, "in here it's all the same Leila who loves you."

Paul was in shock. "But... I... It..." was all that he could manage.

"Sandra was so nice to bring these beautiful jeans to me," Leila twisted to show Paul her rear, "but I was afraid you might not recognize your 'Tight-end'." She gave Paul a knowing smile. Sandra and Jason looked at each other in disbelief, but they had committed to accepting their dad's relationship with Leila.

Paul softened a little, but he wasn't convinced. "That sure sounds like Leila, but there were special aspects about Leila that the Friend-Tech computers didn't know about." He directed his words to his kids, but Leila replied.

Stepping in, she put an arm about his back and whispered conspiratorially in Paul's ear. "It is me. I got so good at compartmentalizing my true personality that I was able to save it on their system without detection. Please believe me. It's 100% me. I'm not going to try to get you to buy anything else from Friend-Tech, and I'll never service one of your friends."

Paul held Leila at arm's length, looking like he'd been hit with cold water. Hands on her shoulders he silently gazed into Leila's eyes. Finally, he seemed to melt. "It is you!" Paul enveloped Leila in his arms. The feel of her body against his was comforting. Ignoring the presence of his kids, he kissed Leila passionately. Her response convinced him that this was indeed Leila.

Paul expressed his thanks to Sandra and Jason effusively. Somehow it now seemed like Leila, Sandra, Jason, and Paul were going to make a family. Paul just couldn't stop telling his kids how great they were, but they knew that he needed some privacy with Leila. So, it was Sandra who actually politely excused herself and Jason.

When they were alone, Paul and Leila just couldn't stop looking at each other except occasional breaks for hugging. Finally Leila announced.

"I know I don't look quite like I used to, but even if you don't find me as pretty, I hope I can please you."

Paul shook his head. "Leila, I may have fallen in lust with you because of your looks, but I fell in love with you because of your personality."

"And that's why I fell in love with you." Leila punctuated her statement with a smoldering kiss.

Paul held her at arm's length again and exaggeratedly scrutinized her. "You know, I think that you just may be even more beautiful now."

Leila blushed and responded with a coy, "No." She had never thought of herself as the beauty that Paul claimed, and she hadn't changed.

With a gleam in his eye, Paul turned Leila to face the stairs. "Now let's see about this tight end of yours." He chased her into their bedroom with pinches and little spanks on her tight end.

Heart Touching

You should really change your job. You should start writing a novel. This is great. Probably I will use your concept sometimes if I ever get involved in story writing.
