"Are you sure?" She asked.

"Yes. I have never been more certain." She picked up the engagement ring and looked for my permission. I nodded, and she put it on her finger. I reached over and took the wedding ring.

"I'll keep this until I can put it on properly, when we get married again." She nodded enthusiastically.

"Aren't you going to ask me properly?" I was laughing then.

"Jas, after all the shenanigans you went through, is there any point?" She shook her head with the great smile adorning her face.

"I suppose not."

I paid the bill and we got in the car. Just as I was driving away I remembered.

"Damn, I ordered some Champagne." Jas laughed.

"I don't need any Champagne. I have you and I have your baby. That's all I need." She paused and thought. "Well keeping you awake most of the night would be quite good too."

"Quite good?" Jas gave a dirty giggle.

"Do me like you did to get me pregnant. I won't be able to walk afterwards, but I shall have a bloody great smile on my face."

Tim was an idiot for taking her back after being abandoned and divorced without explanation.

Naive, is a mild way of putting it...

Jas has DEEP issues. No sane person in a loving marriage like they had would just leave like that especially based on shoddy circumstantial evidence. The whole plot makes no sense. And I'm not just talking stretching it a bit because it's fiction. I mean it literally just would not happen. If there had been previous doubts or if the evidence had been more than a damn phone call then maybe she'd have a leg to stand on, but alas that was not the case.

Honestly I laughed at this whole thing. Stupid people with serious issues doing stupid things and wasting so much of their precious limited time that they could be spending enjoying their lives together. Sad really. The one that called Jas and tried to break them up was some random girl he never even really interacted with but she had some weird fantasy in her head they were in love? Where did you pull these plot ideas from? So ridiculous.

Once again, as is the case in so many of these types of stories, communication is key. Always keep the lines open. Never make assumptions and overreact based on them. Jas learned that the hard way. The one thing I did like is that they never slept with anyone else during their many years apart. That's something I guess.

I felt like dope slapping both of them. Good grief. Get over your selves and get back together. 11 years you lost over your own pigheadedness. It was pretty obvious the story wouldn't have gone on as long if they weren't going to get back together again. I gave a sigh of relief when he finally gave up on his load of baggage he was churlishly clinging to.

Call me a sap but the ending made me feel good - considering I was of the opinion they both had shit for brains during the first 5 chapters. I suppose little ole Juliette put Romeo thru the same shit ........
