I sat in the kitchen drinking a cup of coffee explaining everything about Julia that had me ensnared.
"Well, just remember what Lynyrd Skynyrd sang, 'follow your heart and nothing else.' I like her. Don't break her heart, and don't let her break yours," she said and looked up, "Hello hun. I was just telling Georgie you two better not break each others hearts." With that said, she turned back to finish cooking breakfast.
We ate in silence for sometime digesting my Mother's words. When we finished we helped her clean the table and the dishes. We then packed, said our goodbyes and headed back to college. I felt at ease as we drove knowing my Mother liked her a lot. Unfortunately, I could not keep that feeling, knowing that in three days we were to leave and head north.
