Click hereAn alternative crossed his mind as he saw the disguised Corani approach. She was a powerful woman on this station... if these men could be cowed by anything, it would be her threatening reprisals for interfering with one of her "business associates." Of course, the whole idea of her disguise was to slip out of Dread Harbor unnoticed, and a stunt like this might leave a loose end onboard.
...Then again, Deckard did not trust men like this. At best, they were a liability, at worst a potential threat. Drawing on them now would mean blood on the ground, and undue attention to him personally. But Corani would be left out of the blast radius of future repercussions, her secret safe.
There would be no talking his way out of this one, the bounty hunters put up a friendly front, but the longer Deckard waited to answer the antsier they got.
How does Deckard respond to the standoff?
I'd say 3 - let Corani use her influence and get him out of this pickle with HER money. If he draws and she joins in on the fun, she'll put her influence on the line, and then they'd be screwed if they ever came back with the survivors. If he pays them off, there is the chance they'll squeal, like the rats they are, but it wont be hard for them to sneak back on after saving the folks. So someone give them some money and then scoot!
I wonder if in the vicinity of Deliverance he has other armed options available to him as well?
Corani will help anyway, she's armed and they worked together for years
There can be only one response. He draws his gun and hopefully gets them all.
