"My world is pretty tiny," Brooks said.
Helena smiled and started to look away. Brooks reached down to grab her chin and pressed their lips together. She felt perfect tucked against his body. Helena kissed him back, but then closed her mouth and gave him one small peck before tucking her head back down. She didn't speak and Brooks focused on her breathing, soon it was regular and he felt himself being tugged into sleep.

"What do you want?" Rebecca asked.
Victor had already caused enough problems for her the past few months. She wished he had never shown up at the bar that night.
It was busy. Rebecca was distracted making sure everyone had their drinks. It was sad that working at this small bar was now the highlight of Rebecca's existence. It was the only place she could get away from her "mate". She debated on leaving the pack nightly, but never know how she would support herself. Besides, her biggest fear now was Andrew meeting the one who was really destined for him, that would destroy her magic and Rebecca wasn't sure what the consequences would be.
"Excuse me," a cool voice said.
Rebecca looked over. Wow, she thought to herself. An incredibly handsome man sat at the bar, his blond hair was slicked back and his blue eyes concentrated on hers. She wished Andrew looked more like him. That might make her life a little more bearable. She walked over and flashed her smile.
"What can I get for you?" Rebecca asked.
He replied, but Rebecca couldn't hear him. She leaned closer and took in his scent. He even smelled hot.
"Excuse me?" Rebecca asked.
He smiled before leaning in closer towards her. Rebecca was happy there weren't many wolves in the bar tonight, and no Betas at all. That meant nothing she did would be reported back to Andrew. Rebecca immediately fantasized about this man. Him taking her outside and pushing her up against the wall of the building. She was getting wet just thinking about it. She leaned closer towards him, wanting to feel his breath on her neck.
"Your sister," he whispered.
"Lost in memories again?" Victor asked.
Rebecca was snapped back to the present.
"You didn't my question," Rebecca said. "What are you doing here? You know the pack wants you dead. It's dangerous."
"You didn't hold up your part of the bargain," Victor said.
"Like hell I didn't," Rebecca said.
"Our agreement was you deliver your sister and I keep your secret," Victor said. "Or should I let...what was his name again...Andy know you're not really his mate? Tell him all about your past life? Would that break your little spell?"
"If you could have kept your hands off of her they would have brought her back here," Rebecca said. "Or at least given me the opportunity to go visit her."
"I didn't need them to find her," Victor said. "I knew exactly where she was. I needed you to draw her out at night."
"And I couldn't do that without getting permission," Rebecca said. "How was I supposed to explain that? We agreed it would be easier if I got the pack involved. How was I supposed to know she was Alpha junior's mate? Or that you would try to attack her the exact night the pack found her?"
"I did not attack her," Victor said. "Helena gave herself to me."
"Either way," Rebecca said. "This is your screw up, not mine. If you would have kept your hand off of her that night I could have had her sitting at this bar the next night. You could have snuck off with her. You knew my plan was in motion."
Victor snarled and moved with speed. Rebecca felt his hand tightening around her throat. She didn't flinch.
"Kill me and you're on your own," Rebecca said.
Victor took his seat again and was sipping his drink before Rebecca could draw in a breath.
"Why can't you bring her here now?" Victor asked.
"Well," Rebecca said. "Multiple reasons. First off, they know a vampire is hunting her. Second, she doesn't want to see me. Maybe because you're keeping just a little bit of her soul?"
"How do you know that?" Victor asked.
"The Alpha brought in an expert," Rebecca said. "And his son is just a little too chatty with me."
"What else do they know?"
"If you have her soul why don't you just force her out?" Rebecca asked. "I was thinking about that all night."
"I tried," Victor said. "First with reason, then pleasure, then terror. I'm loosing. The more time she spends with that...wolf, the less I'm able to hold on. I can feel her fighting me."
"They seem to think the opposite," Rebecca said. "That your power is getting stronger. Brooks doesn't want to leave her alone. Ever."
Victor ran his hands through his hair. Rebecca had never seen him so vulnerable before. She didn't want to deal with this. Yet again Helena had screwed up her life. Rebecca wanted her little sister and the vampire gone.
"I'm scared she's going to figure out what she is soon," Rebecca said. "Which would mean she might figure out what I am."
"You mean what you were," Victor said.
Rebecca felt the sting. She was only able to live with her power for such a short time but the memories still burned. Her hand went to her stomach, reminding herself of her sacrifice.
"Either way you need to figure out something fast," Rebecca said. "I don't want to deal with any of this. Or her in general."
Victor stared at the bar. Rebecca liked watching him squirm.
"Oh," Rebecca said. "One other, minor speed-bump. The next full moon is three weeks away, and she agreed to a change. They seem to think that will end all of your control."
Victor looked back up. His eyes were completely black. Rebecca interpreted that to mean the expert was correct.
"Relax," Rebecca said. "I have an idea."
"I should have never gotten you involved," Victor said. "If I would have just waited her out she would be mine already."
"I think you should let her go," Rebecca said.
Victor bared his fangs.
"She's still the same person she's always been," Rebecca said. "Threaten her loved ones and she will turn herself over to you willingly. Of course that will only work if she had all of her soul."
Victor retracted his fangs. He turned his head towards the side.
"I will come in playing the remorseful sister," Rebecca said. "She will want to forgive me. She was always too eager to please me. It will work."
"This is dangerous," Victor said. "I won't be able to visit her again."
"Hmmmm," Rebecca said. "I am sure we can work something out. But this time I want her gone for good. Then I never have to see you, or her, again."
"If she turns into a werewolf, I will hunt you down and rip your throat out," Victor said.
Rebecca turned around and took two shot glasses off the shelf. She went under the bar and pulled out the most expensive whiskey they had. She poured the drinks and raised her glass.
"Then we will have to work fast won't we?" Rebecca asked.
Victor smiled and lifted his glass. Rebecca tapped it and through the shot back, wishing she would have just killed her sister five years ago.

Rebecca's first two kills
Were they her parents? If so, I wonder why Abe claimed to have killed them. Was he that caring and protective of Helena?
