Angel leaned forward and took Buffy’s hands in his. “What do you need?”
“I need you to break Faith out of prison.” Buffy said this matter-of-factly.
“What?!”
“You heard me.”
“Buffy, we can’t do that.” Angel protested. “It’s too soon to expose her to killing–“
”She’s a killer, Angel.” When Angel’s eyes lit with anger, she put up a hand. “What I mean is, she’s a slayer. Just like me. And that’s what a Slayer is. A killer.” She laughed humorlessly as she recalled her vision quest. “I heard from an authority on the subject.”
Angel doubted that but he knew better than to say so. He’d never seen her so . . .raw before. All of her secrets were laid bare, her nerves exposed. “But, she’s still making amends, finding her–“
”I don’t care. Glory is going to kill Dawn. And end existence.” Buffy shook her head. “I’m done playing by the rules, Angel.” She stood up, her jaw was set and her face was grim. “It’s time to pull out all the stops."
