I sat on a rock, overlooking a vast lake that sparkled in the bright moonlight. It was enchanting and dangerous at the same time, and my being felt a sense of belonging. The light breeze rippled the water and caused the hem of my dress to sway in unison with the strands of grass. This place was filled with darkness that seemed so palpable that I could taste it.

"So beautiful," a deep voice reached me and I turned to see the source. It was a tall silhouette of a man. More darkness radiated off of him in visible swirls of black and red smoke, and I felt my body pulling itself off the rock and slowly over to him. I was now so close that our bodies were almost touching, and I tried looking up into his face but saw only shadows.

"Why can't I see you?" My voice echoed with a sound that was in perfect harmony with the wildlife. The shadows started to envelop me and it made my limbs feel like I was trying to swim in caramel. It was a warm sensation that could make someone relax instantly. I registered that I was beginning to lean against him.

His low chuckle made me shiver, "You will see me, soon enough. Then we'll be together, my love."

I fell into nothingness.

My alarm clock blasted its way into my consciousness and I sat up quickly, clutching the trinket that hung in the hollow of my neck. Hair clung to the sides of my face in a hot sweat and I groaned. That was the third time I've had that dream, at least a variation of it. My last dream didn't include the caramel shadows.

I pulled my comforter from my body and got up slowly, resisting the vertigo that threatened to send me back to my inviting bed. I made my way to the tall mirror that hung on the wall opposite to my bed. Examining myself, I frowned. My shirt was bunched up around my stomach and the makeup I forgot to take off the previous night was smeared under my eyes, giving me the appearance of a raccoon. My hair that usually hung in golden waves was now matted against the sides of my face, frizzy and stringy. The rest just hung limp at my waist.

Then I laughed at myself. I looked hilarious, like some strung out crack head that partied too hard and drank too much alcohol. I just needed a hot shower before the school day started.

The shower was clean and quick. I was too excited for the last day before summer break to savor the warmth. It was a good junior year for me and I just got my license. Finally, I could drive to the mall or beach with my friends with the car I got as a celebration present. The car wasn't flashy or anything like that, just a red 2004 Mustang Convertible my mom passed down to me. Ever since I was a little girl, me and my mom were Mustang girls.

After blow-drying my hair and throwing on some jeans and a t-shirt, I headed towards my bedroom door and gave my room a quick once over. Everything was in place in my large room. The queen sized bed, the items on my nightstand, the organized walk-in closet, the many posters and pictures and movie ticket stubs that were plastered on my walls, all there and in check. Now, you might be thinking, Oh she's some snobby rich girl. That isn't the case with me. I have never cared for materialistic things; it's just my mom who insist on giving me the world. That's what I got for being an only child.

Smelling a delicious breakfast, I flicked off my bedroom light and glided downstairs into the kitchen. My mom was flipping some bacon over on the stove and, without turning her back, chirped, "Hi, baby how did you sleep?"

The corners of my lips slightly pulled down into a frown, "Fine," I lied. Even though I didn't lie often, I was good at it. I was very good at persuading people's way of thinking. It seemed that it was the only evil thing about me.

Mom's sandy brown hair bobbed as she turned to me, "So you're ready for your vacation, huh?" She smiled a devilish smile, "Maybe you'll have a summer romance."

I rolled my eyes at her, "Yeah mom, I'll find some charming prince to sweep my off my feet and we'll live happily ever after." I scoffed.

She threw her hands up defensively, "Hey I'm just kidding," she looked at the clock on the stove, "You got to get going, kid. You have ten minutes." She handed me my messenger bag off the counter and walked over to me, pushing me to the front door.

I tried protesting by digging my feet in the ground but she was stronger, "But I want bacon!"

She laughed and managed to open the door and get me on the porch, "Have a good day!"

I walked into my Physics class and spotted my best friend, Aiyana, sitting at the desk in the back corner. She was looking out the window, watching the clouds roll by. I admired her beauty. Her raven hair hung down to the small of her back which shined in the sunlight that was streaming in through the window. Her eyes reminded me of the darkness of the woods at night with the chestnut iris and emerald rims. They were topped with heavy eyelashes. She was very tall with caramel skin.

I walked over to her and reached to poke her arm when she said, "I know you're there you can't scare me." I laughed and took the seat next to her. She turned and smiled at me, "So it's the last day of school. What are we going to do?"

I shrugged, "I don't know; I was just planning on chilling out when I got home." I let my caramel tresses cover my face as I entered some stray doodles into my notebook.

A low, rich voice broke my self-possession, "Good morning class. Mr. Phillips is out sick so I will be your substitute today. I'm Mr. Slade." Every girl's head whipped in his direction, including mine. His clothes were simple; a plain black t-shirt with dark blue jeans, something teachers don't generally wear. But it gave him the look that said he didn't give a damn. His face, though, that was no plain sight. His features were much defined and strong, his bright green eyes hidden under dark and heavy lashes. Straight, jet black hair spiked out from the sides of his head, stopping just below his jawline. He looked nothing like a teacher.

I noticed the other girls once again and decided to not go along with them. Just because there was a pretty face in the room, didn't mean that I had to fawn over it like all the rest. I looked at Aiyana, and reached over with my leg to give her a quick kick, snapping her out of her trance. She glared at me and went back to ogling. The male students groaned and sighed, then continued talking about mundane things.

Sighing, I went back to doodling. Mr. Slade went on, "I suppose, since this is your last day of school, you could all just talk amongst yourselves the whole hour." The class cheered and everyone erupted into loud chatter. Aiyana went off to talk to some of her friends, and I continued in my notebook. Aiyana was more charismatic than I, and I always was jealous of that. I wasn't good with talking to people.

I noticed a shadow looming over me, and I looked up... and up... and up. Mr. Slade's slender but muscular form towered over me. He looked down at me, emerald gems burning against my blue pools. "Why aren't you talking to anyone? Don't you want to take advantage of the free time?"

Incredulous, I glared at him, "What I do with my free time is none of your business." I had never disrespected a teacher, but his remark made me angry.

He chuckled at me, "No need to get defensive." He peered down at my notebook, "Nice drawing." He walked away.

I looked down at my drawing and widened my eyes a little. Without even realizing I had drawn my dream from last night. But in my drawing, it wasn't just a shadowed figure that held me; it was him. Color flooded to my face, and I closed my notebook instantly.

School was boring the rest of the day, and when I got home I decided to take a nice long swim in the pool. The water felt great and calming as it washed over my body, and I don't know how many laps I did until it was dark. I finally got out around 10 p.m. A nice, hot shower was my next plan of attack. I cleaned myself thoroughly, something I did when I was thinking hard.

As I let the hot water run over me, I wondered what Mr. Slade's deal was. He's a substitute the last day of school and lets everyone do what they want, and then decides to scrutinize me for not talking to people. He dare him! And what the hell was I doing drawing him as the guy from my dream? I would not let him be part of some stupid school girl fantasy. And another thing; the guy didn't even look past twenty! I bet he's some sort of pervert. Yeah, he became a substitute so he can prey on girls a bit younger than him. Ugh!

I turned off the shower violently and stepped out, wrapping a towel quickly around me. I stole a look at myself in the mirror and sighed, hanging my head down and trying to calm myself. There's no reason one stupid guy should be absorbing my thoughts so fully.

A seductive, deep voice made me jump, "Eden." My head snapped up to see who was calling my name. In the mirror, standing behind me was Mr. Slade, smiling at me crookedly. I screamed and ran out of the bathroom and for my bedroom door, but he was already in the doorway. I swallowed hard and backed up.

"What do you want? Why the hell are you in my house?" My voice shook with fear. I noticed, dimly, that my towel had fallen off. I quickly attempted to cover myself with my hands.

His voice, now, seemed all too familiar. He let his faint and ancient accent come through, "Eden, I told you we'd be together soon, didn't I? Isn't that what you wanted?"

"No!" I shouted. "No, that was just a dream! This isn't possible!" He started walking towards me, and I backed up more, bumping into my bed.

"But I'm here. It is very possible, my sweet Eden." He was upon me now, his lips urgently seeking mine. He kissed me passionately, and I felt myself responding, my limbs turning to jelly and an unfamiliar heat pooling between my legs. His fingers came up and clutched my hair, turning my head as he feathered kisses down my neck. I couldn't help but moan.

My voice trembled, "W-who are you? What are you?"

"Just call me Alec. I think you know what I am." Sharp teeth grazed my neck, and my whole body tensed. No, vampires weren't real. They were only in stupid movies and books.

I pushed in vain at him, trying to get away. But he was rock solid, and I wasn't going anywhere. He pushed me into the bed and I couldn't help but stare at him as he pulled of his shirt, his jeans, and finally, his boxers. I gazed at him, taking in his large size. He looked to be about ten inches, and thick, too. I backed up on the bed and he quickly fell upon me, his whole beautiful body molding against mine. His mouth moved down and captured one of my taut nipples between his teeth. I writhed in ecstasy as two of his slender fingers delved into me, and I could almost feel him smile against me. "Ah, you see? Your body knows mine; it wants this. You want me." Slowly his fingers moved in and out of me, his tongue lapping at my breast. His other traced along my jaw and neck.

I was so horrified to find myself responding to all this. I couldn't let him win. I wasn't a possession. I wasn't something to be had. But his unrelenting fingers wouldn't stop, and neither would the rest of him. I felt something building up inside me, and then he removed his fingers. I cried out in frustration, and he smiled triumphantly.

"Please," I muttered.

He arched an eyebrow at me, "What was that?"

I caught myself, "Nothing."

Suddenly there was a knock at my door, and my mom's voice came from the other side, "Sweetie, are you okay in there?" I opened my mouth to scream, but Alec's hand quickly flew up to cover my mouth. I bit down in protest but he merely chuckled silently.

Alec's voice suddenly mirrored my own, "Yeah, mom. I'm fine; just talking to my books again. Sarah is so blind, she can't even see the perfect guy that's right in front of her!" My eyes widened. How could he know that I talk to my books? That's one of the weird things I do. And he knew the plot of the book I was even reading!

My mom laughed, "Alright, honey. I'm going out with a few people from work. Good night." Alec remained motionless until he finally heard the soft click of the front door, marking my mother's exit. He removed his hand from my mouth.

"How the hell did you do that?!" I growled at him, trying to sound feral. "How did you even know how to act like me so well?"

"Well, for one, it's a special ability I have. And two, because we're made for each other. You're mine." His voice became his own again. Before I could speak again, his mouth was on mine, his tongue exploring every inch and crevice of it. I moaned and squirmed beneath him. And then the doorbell rang. A low growl resonated in his chest. "It's your unreserved, irritating friend." He looked deep into my eyes, "You're let off for now. You can go attend to her mundane chatters and whims, but know that I'll be watching you." He was suddenly off me and gone in a flash.

I lay there, stunned and incapacitated. Finally I got up and rushed to put a robe in, thankful that my hair was still wet to make it look like I just got out of the shower. I rushed downstairs to let Aiyana in, greeting her with a big smile, "Hey!"

She walked in and hugged me, then casually dropping herself onto my living room couch. I followed suit, looking around nervously. He said he would be watching me. How would he? Where was he? My thoughts were absorbed by him. Him.

I sat on the couch and mindlessly chewed on my nails. Aiyana's bubbly voice made me jump, "Are you okay, Eden? You look worried. And flush. What have you been doing?" She giggled, "Did you finally do some experimenting with yourself?"

My eyes widened, my hands clutching my robe closed even more. "NO!" I looked down, "I just got out of the shower. The water is acting funny and it was just really hot." My fingers fluttered about my robe anxiously. "So why'd you come over?" my hands

She shrugged, "'Dunno. Just bored."

"Heh. I guess that's a good reason."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gruesome and bloody images passed through the television screen, and sleepily I chuckled at the terrible acting of the horror movie. Aiyana lay passed out on my lap, snoring lightly, a bowl of popcorn in her lap. The night was supposed to be enjoyable. But it wasn't. I couldn't stop thinking about him. About Alec. There was no god damn reason for any of it to make sense. I wasn't a possession. Vampires weren't real. Why would he want me, anyway? Why was I so special? It reminded me of one of my books, the way the girl was destined for something crazy or supernatural. But life is not a book. The only I'm destined for is a normal, mediocre life. Not a possessive, sensual, frightening, and insane vampire who turned me into a sex-craving whore. Wait; did I want sex from him? No, I don't want anything from anyone. What did he want from me? Is it blood? Sex?
My mind churned out a million more questions. I looked down at Aiyana and was thankful that she came over. I hoped that she could stay here and not wake up. I think she's the only thing keep Alec from taking me right here, right now. No such luck.
Her phone started ring and vibrate in her pocket, and she shot up, answering it, eyes half-closed. It made me chuckle.
"Huh? Oh, okay. Yeah, Dad. I'll be home in ten minutes. Ok, bye." She looked at me and leaned over, kissing my cheek. "Gotta go, hon. See ya," She grabbed her purse and left my house before I could even blink.
"No," I muttered. I shot up and ran after her, reaching the door. But before I could open it, I was pressed up against it. A cold, hard body was pressed against mine, and his nose went down to my neck, inhaling deeply.
"Delicious," He groaned out.
I struggled pointlessly. His hands roamed all over my body and I was jerked around to face him. Alec's face was centimeters away from mine, and he easily ripped my robe away from me. "You were going to go to her and tell her to stay with you. That way, I couldn't do what I wanted. I guess you were just too slow." He crushed his lips against mine and snaked his tongue past my lips, toying it against mine. My body responded, moving more against him and my tongue dancing with his. One of his hands reached down between my folds, teasing my entrance with his finger. I moaned into his mouth and he growled in satisfaction. His body shuddered and I knew that his control had snapped.
Before I could even think pulled out his manhood and moved me up against the door, impaling me with his large cock.
"Oh!" I cried out, trying to adjust to his giant size. My legs wrapped themselves around him and he immediately started thrusting into me, hard and fast. His eyes never left mine.
I screamed in pain mingled with pleasure as he relentlessly pounded deep into me.
"Ugh, yes! Scream for me baby!" He ground out, his hips continued pistoning furiously. I dug my nails into the flesh of his shoulders and he responded with a low growl. His teeth found my neck and sunk them into my flesh immediately. I cried out in pure ecstasy and contracted in my very first orgasm. I felt him still sucking at the blood at my neck as he got closer to climax, managing to get deeper and harder inside me. Finally, with an brilliant roar, he came inside of me.
