Kyal stayed silent as Ehlena cried herself out. His breathing evened out, and Ehlena thought he had fallen asleep. She started drifting off, and, just before losing consciousness, she thought she heard Kyal whisper to her.
"You are not average, Ehlena. You're anything but, breathtaking as a sunset and as fiery as the sun. I can't stand to let you be anything but mine."
Ehlena took one more breath, in, out, and finally reached sleep.
