Hasidel made a polite bow and headed to the ship, in a hurry to join his own family and beloved wife.
Isabel watched as the enormous ship took off the hot ground of the airport and flew straight North.
'Victory or not, I won't leave any Neanderthal in these mines!'
She braced for what was still ahead, and putting on the most composed face possible, she turned toward the two Darian Lords behind her and the small crowd of low caste Darians.
Arder showed her something that must have been his version of a polite smile, which sent chills down her spine. The blue lines of self-control were flashing behind his shield. Lugnar, on the other hand, was engulfed in a sea of green waves and some dark feeling of murder that he tried to veil when she looked at him. He flashed his shiny smile that somehow didn't look so bright. While it didn't give her the creepy feeling, it was no less disturbing.
However, she had her mates beside her and her people were flown to relative safety, so she wasn't going to sit by and watch some freaking, space vampires screw up her family life.
"Gentlemen!" said Isabel, and when they gave her the astounded stares of males being called gentle, she sighed and tried again.
"Men!" This time saw the approving nod from Lugnar and his barely suppressed smile.
"We have a goal. It is to stop these freaks from taking over what is rightfully ours!"
The crowd cheered her statement, and Isabel smiled, then headed for entrance of the base, where she now had to figure out how to stop the alien invasion.
