Ignatius stared down at Ryan, who just stared at him with a dull look on his face.
"He suffered the same type of abuse that you did, Master Whittler."
"He shouldn't have—
Ryan could no longer speak. His voice was about to crack. He could all ready feel his eyes start to water.
"I know, Master Whittler, I know," Ignatius sighed. "Ryan, if your father knew that you were being abused, he would've taken you away from all of that. But, at the time, he couldn't. Hell, if I would've known that you were being abused, I would've done something, even if it means that I had to kidnap you. We would've thought that your mother—
"My mother wasn't worth a damn! She was just a fucking incubator that loved to wear designer clothes," remarked Ryan. He pushed the bowl of food away. He stared down at the countertop. A few tears escaped his eyes. He quickly wiped away the evidence.
'Two days in a row of me crying like a bitch,' he thought. Another thought had popped into his head. He stared up at Ignatius. "You're not telling me everything, Ignatius" he accused his butler. "What else is there to know?"
"Well, you are going to have to ask your father about that one," Ignatius said to the younger man. He grabbed the bowl off of the counter. "But I will say this; did you know that natural redheads are rare?" Then the butler had taken the bowl of oatmeal into the pantry.
'What in the hell does he mean?'
Ignatius returned to the kitchen, a moment later.
"What are your plans today? Do you plan on doing something with Mistress Garrison today?" he asked, as he rounded the corner of the island.
"I do have plans with Suzette today" notified Ryan.
"Really, I hope you have a wonderful time with Madame Garrison."
"I doubt that I am going to enjoy myself today though, Ignatius" Ryan groaned, making his irritation known. "We are going shopping for engagement rings today."

I feel for Kali and Ryan the most because of how their trauma has really fucked them up. I think Kali needs to be away from Ryan and Daniel so she can truly heal.
Anonymousalmost 11 years agoI like this story, but there is a big problem with the transition: from the "present" sequence to the flashback sequences. It is disturbing.
I also really could do with less abuse and I would also like ti have a more assertive Kali. She is either being abused or "saved"/helped by men. There need to be some self-help stuff, some growth from her. An dplease, don't let her be "saved" by Daniel or their suppsed love for each other. It would be just awful. She needs to stand for herself !! It is also a shame that she refuses help from her fien Katrina and now Jack arrives and saves the day with his bullshit confession about Daniel. I really hope Kali doesn't end up with Daniel. That guy is such a coward !! He fucked her for 6 months without paying attention, just taking his own pleasure, and now he is supposed to have been in love with her since teenage years? Really? How come henever tried to ask her out or anything? I feel more for Ryan, because at least I can understand where his behaviour comes from, and he is quite a tragic character, especially whith his history with Kali when they were kid and he was abused. I do'nt think he is the big bad guy here. I don't want Kali with him either, but I can more easily "sympathise" with him than with Daniel, the supposed two-goody-two-shoes
Also the Uncle Jack connection, and the Cossette connection are a bit far fetched. To have Jack being Daniel's uncle and aslo being Kali 'godfather' is really too much at the same time. Like we HAVE to like Daniel now, by association. Also about Cossette, it was previously mentionned that Daniel was engaged, not married, and that Kali used to see his girlfriend on TV. Now it seems that she discoveres that he is married to her longtime friend?
Rawmaster50about 11 years agoYou have filled out the characters is this chapter, and introduced a lot of violence and body damage. Having Ryan in the predicament he deserves is rewarding. There are more issues to be resolved in this story and you have handled some of them very well. Looking forward to the rest of the story. Waiting to see how Daniel and his problems get handled.
Anonymousover 11 years agoNot confused by your story. Confused by my commitment to it. I usually go for the quick, single chapter, 3-4 page quickies. I got very attached to this story and keep coming back. Flawed Kali has won my support in spite of enjoying Ryan and Daniel when they are actually doing her. Great story line. I look forward to starting the next chapter in a few minutes.
