"Not necessary. I am sorry. I shan't bother you again." Bowing his head, he quickly ducked out the door, leaving her to stare at the closed portal, her hand out as if to stop him.
Her eyes closed and she untangled a hand from her gown. With a sense of wonder, her slender fingers pressed gently against her kiss-swollen lips. Her breath was harsh in her chest. "Blaise," she gasped. What he had done to her with his mouth was incredible. But that he hadn't known or given her a chance to explain herself brought a cry of despair to her lips.
How could she decide? They were both incredible men, honest and brave. A pure testament to everything that was good in the Seven Kingdoms. What could she do? What should she do? She stared out the long arrow slit window beside the hearth and saw the beauty of the spring sky. With a groan, she pushed away the thoughts confusing her mind and just lay back, staring at the one slice of pretty blue sky.
One way or the other, everything will always end the way it was supposed to. It was her mother's favorite saying...her mother. It was almost as if she could just reach out and almost put a face to the name.
But then, as ever since she awoke, it was dashed away and she was left, once more, alone.
