We were now pretty well set for life as long as we did nothing stupid. I still had one more surprise coming from Cheryl.

I arrived home about three weeks after the end of the fiasco to find Cheryl and Meryl in the kitchen cooking something that smelled really good. I walked up to Cheryl and gave her my 'I'm home' kiss. Instead of just returning it she held my face and looked at me very seriously for a little while.

"I love you very much."

I stared at her. She was being very serious. I could see Meryl trying not to look. "I love you, too, Cheryl. I told you that I always will."

She kept looking at me with a smile. "I know. I will always love you, too. No matter what."

Now she was freaking me out. "What's going on here?"

She smiled and turned back to her cooking. "Just go change clothes. Dinner will be ready in about 30 minutes. You'll see."

I looked over at Meryl who just grinned, shrugged, and went back to chopping salad vegetables.

I walked upstairs to our bedroom and the door was closed. I opened it and went inside. I stopped and stared. In our bed was a beautiful, very well endowed blonde. She stood up and came over to me. Meryl laughed. "And half the women."

Sexy Girl laughed. "You got that right!"

I looked around the room. "Well, whatever your name is, 30 minutes or the entire weekend with you can't tempt me to ignore 11 years and 2 kids with this beauty." I leaned over and kissed Cheryl on the head.

Sexy Girl laughed. "You got any brothers?"

Meryl laughed now. "No, he doesn't, because I would have nailed one of them years ago."

Three weeks later Monica and I had to make a trip to New York City again to meet with and assure the customer there that everything was alright after Ed left. We arrived in the late afternoon and went directly to the hotel. Monica had the same suite as before and after I dropped my bags in my room, I joined her in her suite.

We only had to wait about 5 minutes before the knock came at the door. I went and opened it and let the visitor in. We joined Monica around the small table and Monica took out the check. She handed it to him. "Here's the check. It's for a million. I know that we said 1.5, but this is the best we could do after Jackie met with the CEO. It's made out to John Harris. Is that the name you are using now, Ed?"

Ed smiled. We all smiled and then laughed. He looked at the check. "Yep, that's perfect. I have a nice place on the beach overlooking the bay. Any time you guys want to visit me in St. Maarten's just let me know."

Monica grinned. "Well, I might just do that if this John comes along." She grabbed my arm.

"Not sure how we could arrange that. You know the agreement. Once we got the money, we had to go our separate ways. It's too dangerous to continue this otherwise. We had to do all the pretending on the phone, with our families, and at work. I don't want to go through that anymore." I pinched her on the ass. "Although... you were the only one who ever tempted me to stray, you slut!"

Monica laughed and slapped me on the arm. "Whore!"

Ed smiled. "I know I really loved taking those pictures of you guys. You two were hot together and it's too bad that we had to make sure that all of it was destroyed. The investigator did destroy it all, right?"

I nodded. "Yep, all gone."

"Yeah, that's too bad. Anyway, I'm gone. I'm back on a plane in an hour and you'll never see me again unless you find me out there on the island." He stood up and shook my hand. "Sorry about the way it went with Cheryl. She really does love you."

"I know. I love her, too. And now that this is over, I can go back and be the loving husband." I gave Monica the evil eye to warn her to stop throwing her female charms at me.

Ed gave Monica a hug and headed toward the door. "See you guys around... maybe."

The door closed behind him and Monica and I held up our champagne glasses in a toast. Not a bad way to make a couple of million dollars.
