Blindsided Ch. 01

"You are a real asshole. You know that "

"I know. It's part of my charm don't ya think?"

"Oh yeah your charm makes my pussy tingle."

"Oh wow such a filthy mouth. Too bad your bark is worse than your bite. We may still be together if that were the case." Charlie chided.

"Well I for one am glad we are over. That way I don't have to hear your narcissistic ass anymore."

"Bitter much? I dare you to find someone with a cock as big as mine and know how to use it. Face it no one is going to want to go be willing to go for my sloppy seconds."

"That's what you think Charlie. There are plenty of guys who want to get with me." Devyn blurted out while instantly regretting not keeping her mouth shut.

"Like who? Please don't tell me you are talking about JaVaughn. You and I both know he fucks anything with a pulse, boobs, and three holes. So don't flatter yourself."

"Whatever Charlie. I'm done talking to you."

"You say that now, but I guarantee you will be changing your tune a few months from now, because if someone is stupid enough to try to do more than just fuck you then they will be sorry." Charlie said with a bit of anger laced in his voice.

"Is that some sort of threat?"

"Not at all, it's a promise, because no one and I mean no one tries to humiliate me the way you did and try to get away with it."

"Well you had it coming after fucking that skank Brooke then sending me a picture afterwards bragging about it."

"I accidentally sent it to you bitch. All you had to do is call it off through texting or some shit. You had no right trying to out me on Facebook like that."

"So you get to cheat on me then dictate the rules. Sorry Charlie it don't work that way." Devyn said smugly.

"Well I hope you enjoy being a slut, because that is the only way you are going to get a guy. Because if I find out you are dating someone you better believe I will be sharing with them some of the times we spent together."

"You asshole."

"You sound like a broken fucking record. We already established that I'm an asshole." Charlie said as he saw the deflated look on Devyn's face. "Well looks like my work here is done. See ya around." Charlie said as he made his way out of the store.

"Ohhh I can't stand that arrogant son of a bitch, he makes my blood boil. What did I ever see in him. I can't believe I fell for a guy like that." Devyn said to herself as she tried to calm down.

It was another half an hour before Kelsie came back, and when she did come back she could tell by looking at Devyn's face she was pissed about something, because her eye color had completely changed.

"Uh oh what did I miss?" Kelsie asked cautiously.

"Just World War Three. That jerkwad Charlie came by to check on me." Devyn said, using air quotes.

"Don't worry about him Devyn. He's not worth it."

"I wish it was that simple, but something he said really has me kinda uneasy."

"What did he say?" Kelsie said with a concerned look on her face.

"He threatened to show any new person I date old videos we made together."

"He is just blowing smoke girl. I wouldn't pay him any attention."

"I wish that was all but I get this sinking feeling he may be telling the truth. Well I guess I will cross that bridge when I get to it."

"Yeah I wouldn't sweat it Devyn." Kelsie said with a bit more optimism than normal.

"Well someone must have gotten some good news." Devyn said as she picked up on Kelsie being happier than usual.

"Yes!" Kelsie squealed. "I got a raise."

"Well I won't be nosey and ask how much, but if anyone deserves should get one it is you."

"Thank you, that really means a lot." Kelsie said as she threw her arms around Devyn. "What say we go for a mani-pedi after work to celebrate. It'll be my treat."

"Sure, but won't the paint mess up my nails though?"

"I'm sure you will figure something out."

"Yeah you're right because I would be an idiot to turn down a free manicure and pedicure."

"Exactly! You have to look your best for what-his-name."

"You talking about Cedrick?"

"Yeah him."

"Whatever. He seems like a nice guy but I doubt he would want to get mixed up in my drama with Charlie."

"You never know. Plus Charlie may get one look at Fredrick and tuck his tail and run."

"It's Cedrick not Fredrick."

"Ohhh someone is already defending her man." Kelsie said teasingly.

"Let's not jump the gun ok Kelsie." Devyn said flatly.

"Ok I'll leave it be for now."

"Thanks I appreciate that."

The rest of the shift went off without a hitch, and before she knew it, Devyn had put the confrontation with Charlie on the backburner. It was soon time for Devyn and Kelsie to get off work. They agreed to go home first and freshen up before meeting up later.

After going to the salon and grabbing a bite to eat, Kelsie and Devyn decided to call it a night. Which was fine by Devyn since it gave her time to pick out the right outfit to wear and get some much needed rest.

As Kelsie and Devyn wrapped up their night, Cedrick was in the gym sparring with Aimee, giving her a few last minute pointers before she had to head out on Monday.

"Dammit why do you have to be so damn strong. That move works like a charm on everyone else." Aimee whined as she unsuccessfully tried to shoot in for a take down.

"That's your problem Aimee you are relying too much on your take down technique. Mix it up with a few jabs and kicks to keep your opponent guessing."

"You mean like this." Aimee said as she delivered a quick push kick, nailing Cedrick in the sternum.

"Yeah like that." Cedrick said between coughs as he tried to catch his breath.

"Don't be such a baby. I didn't kick you that hard."

"What'd you expect, you caught me off guard." Cedrick huffed, trying to catch his breath.

"Fair enough. I still wish you could come to Europe with me. I know if you could help train me I would be kicking Jocelyn's ass for sure."

"You'll be fine Aimee. There are some good coaches over there at Canterbury Kickboxing Academy."

"Yeah but none of them are you though. Anyway no need in crying over something that will never be."

"You know why I won't do it Aimee. Giving you a few pointers is already hard enough."

"I know and I appreciate it Cedrick. Ignore my whining, I'm just kinda nervous about this upcoming fight is all."

"I know, but like I said mix up your strategy a little bit and you will have your hand raised in no time."

"I'm glad you think so." Aimee said with a little more pep in her voice.

"I don't think, I know."

"Ok mister confident. Anyway it's getting late, so I think we should call it a night. Kicking your ass gets tiresome."

"Ok Aimee you go ahead and go , I am going to lock up."

"Alright see ya tomorrow." Aimee said as she hugged Cedrick then gathered her belongings.

The next morning Devyn got out of bed and cooked breakfast. After eating a light breakfast, she cleaned up for a bit. She hoped that cleaning her apartment would help her burn off some of the nervous energy she had bottled up. But since it didn't, so she decided to go for a run, hoping that would do the trick.

"Guess I could go for a run." Devyn said to herself. "I sure could use it, because my legs are freaking huge, I hate it." She grumbled while lacing up her shoes.

Devyn managed to achieve her goal of burning off some energy, because three miles and a gallon of sweat later she no longer felt anxious.

As Devyn made it to her doorstep, she stepped inside her apartment and let out a sigh of relief, then proceeded to strip out of her running clothes; after being completely naked she took look at herself in the mirror.

"Looking pretty good." She said to herself jokingly as the glistening sweat highlighted the abdominal lines on her stomach. "Now if I could just do something about these gigantic man legs. Well at least my feet are small. That counts as being girly right?" She said trying to convince herself that her lower half was not manly.

Once she finished up with her self evaluation, Devyn hopped in the shower to clean herself up.

As Devyn was cleaning up, Cedrick was across town, just now rolling out of bed. It had been ages since he was last in the gym, and sparring with Aimee brought back a feeling of soreness he had long forgotten.

"That damn girl hits like a Mack truck, either that or I'm just getting soft." Cedrick said as he hopped out of bed and took some ibuprofen.

After gaining his bearings, he checked the time only to see that he slept the morning and a portion of the afternoon away, and before he knew it was time to get ready to attend the art class Aimee begged him to come to. Usually he would decline something like that, but since Aimee was getting ready to leave soon he figured he would bite the bullet and endure the art class. The fact that Aimee offered to buy the first two round of drinks at their favorite watering hole sweetened the deal.

"Well I guess I'm all set." Devyn said as she looked in the mirror to evaluate her wardrobe choice.

She chose to wear a v-neck graphic tee, which gave off the illusion that her bustline was bigger than it actually was. Devyn was far from being flat-chested, but the shirt she chose to wear made her moderately sized c-cups appear to be a size d-cup instead. For her bottoms she chose a pair of loose fitting jeans to go with her shirt, since she did not want to bring attention to her legs. They weren't fat by any means, they just retained the muscle from her years of dancing, which she hated despite getting compliments all the time; and to complete her ensemble she chose a pair of sandals to show off her pedicure. Once her clothes fit to her liking, Devyn put her honey-blonde hair up in a bun, that way her hair would stay out of her face.

"Well I better get going so I can avoid downtown traffic." Devyn said to herself as she dashed out the door.

Despite leaving in a timely manner, Devyn still faced quite a bit of traffic since it was a Saturday evening. She eventually made it to the Uptown Art parking lot, where she was barely able to find a parking space.

As she made her way inside the building, Devyn did a quick scan of the room to see if she saw Cedrick. She didn't see him but she did see two empty seats.

"Oh someone is looking out for me. Cedrick has no choice but to sit next to me." Devyn said as she settled down in her seat.

While sitting there, it hit her that Cedrick was talking to a girl on Wednesday.

"Fuck me. I bet he came to an earlier class or something. Hopefully whoever is sitting next to me won't be annoying." Devyn said to herself as she checked the time on her phone. "Whoever it is they sure can't tell time." She said, while putting her phone away and looking up on the podium to see who she assumed to be the instructor giving someone an earful.

"Oh I would not want to be on her bad side." Devyn said with a shudder as the masculine looking instructor put away her phone and got ready to address the class.

"Sorry about the delay everyone. Class will start shortly." The instructor said as she made an admonishing gaze towards the figure standing in the doorway.

"I wonder what dumb." Devyn said, as the rest of her sentence got caught in her throat, since the figure that held up class was none other than Cedrick.

"Oh he is going to be sitting next to me." Devyn said to herself trying to contain her excitement, as Cedrick sat in the empty seat next to her.

As Cedrick took his seat the instructor's hardened facial expression softened slightly as she addressed the class, while her assistant passed out the materials.

"Oh hey how are you doing?" Cedrick said to Devyn as he avoided eye contact with the instructor.

"I'm fine thank you." Devyn said with a grin.

"Likewise." Cedrick said while returning the smile. "It's nice to be taking this class with a familiar face."

"Yeah I had a friend that was coming with me, but she bailed on me at the last minute."

"I'm sorry to hear that." Cedrick said while thinking that he was not sorry at all. "Well hopefully you won't mind me sitting in her spot." Cedrick said as he tried not to stare too long at Devyn's eyes, which subtly started to change into a lighter color.

"I think you will do just fine." Devyn said, trying not to sound too eager.

"Thank you, now if only the instructor would be that easy to satisfy."

"Yeah she was giving someone an earful earlier."

"That would be me." Cedrick said sheepishly. "It's all good though, after this I will just make her buy me one round of drinks instead of the two she promised to get me to come here."

"Oh do you know her?" Devyn said trying to conceal her disappointment.

"Yeah I do, but we're not together or anything like that." Cedrick said as he read the look on Devyn's face. "We are just friends, Aimee is like a sister to me, as a matter of fact she would probably be more into you than me if you know what I mean."

"Oh ok well that's cool." Devyn said as she was relieved that Cedrick was not dating Aimee.

"Anyway I guess we better pay attention, because I don't want to make her any madder."

"Yeah good idea." Devyn said as she reluctantly tore her gaze away from Cedrick.

While the class went underway, Cedrick and Devyn made small talk and unsuccessfully tried to steal a glance at one another when they were not talking to each other and thought the other person was not looking. About halfway through the session Aimee stopped the class to give everyone a quick ten minute break.

During the break Aimee made her way over to talk to Cedrick, which caused Devyn to promptly go to the women's bathroom to give them a chance to talk. After what she thought was enough time, Devyn came back out, hoping she would not walk into a hornet's nest.

"So Cedrick are you going to introduce me to your friend here or do I have to introduce myself?" Aimee said as Devyn joined them.

"Aimee this is Devyn, Devyn this is Aimee." Cedrick half mumbled since Aimee embarrassed him.

"Oh no wonder you were late, were you trying to look presentable for the lady here?" Aimee said as she got a closer look at Devyn.

"No I didn't know she was even going to be here." Cedrick continued to mumble as he looked in the other direction.

"Whatever you say you sly devil." Aimee said while playfully jabbing Cedrick in the ribs. "Hi I'm Aimee, nice meet you." She said focusing her attention on Devyn, and extending her hand.

"Oh hi Aimee, nice to meet you too." Devyn said while taking Aimee's hand, hoping Aimee would not break it.

Although Aimee was only a inch or so taller than her, Devyn was much more intimidated by Aimee than she was Cedrick, despite Cedrick being taller and weighing more than Aimee.

What scared Devyn about Aimee was the fact that she had biceps twice the size of hers and while Devyn wore loose fitting jeans to hide her legs, Aimee wore yoga pants that showcased her legs, which looked like two knotted slabs of granite; and if her physique was not scary enough, Aimee wore her short, jet-black hair spiked up in the center with both sides shaven down to near baldness.

While exchanging handshakes, it occurred to Devyn that Aimee not only sported a bold look, but also had a bold personality to match, which did little to calm Devyn's nerves; but despite being scared shitless, Devyn sucked it up and did the best she could to put on a brave face.

"So I take it you will be joining us at The Big Chill after this class is over."

"I haven't even asked her to join us yet Aimee." Cedrick interjected. "She may have plans or something."

"Oh I see, well the way you two were jawing, I figured you invited her along." Aimee said matter-of-factly.

"Sorry about that." Devyn jumped in. "We just got kinda carried away, but to answer your question I would love to join y'all after class, I mean if it is ok with Cedrick that is."

"Oh yeah that is fine with me." Cedrick said, as he was surprised that Devyn decided to join them.

"Well there you have it, and you are welcome by the way Cedrick." Aimee said as she turned around and got ready to head back up front. "

"Thank you Aimee." Cedrick said as the tips of his ears reddened slightly.

"You're welcome Ceddie bear." Aimee said over her shoulder teasingly, then hastily made her way down the aisle and climbed the podium to resume class.

"Ceddie bear?" Devyn repeated as she and Cedrick returned to their seats.

"Yeah it's an inside joke."

"Well I think it is a cute nickname." Devyn grinned, hoping Cedrick got the hint she was interested in him.

"Thanks, I think."

"You are welcome and I meant cute in a good way." Devyn said as she continued to grin. "For a guy his size he seems to be timid." Devyn said to herself thinking that Cedrick's demureness was cute.

It would be another forty-five minutes before class was over. After the class ended, Cedrick and Devyn stayed and helped Aimee and her assistant clean up. Once everything was cleaned up, Aimee, Devyn and Cedrick put their paintings in their cars, then made their way towards The Big Chill while Aimee's assistant went the other direction, since she had other plans. Soon as they made it inside Aimee called her girlfriend Lauren to come join them.

The group of three were on their second round of drinks by time the time Lauren made her appearance. As she sat down, she was a little surprised to see someone sitting next to Cedrick, since she hadn't seen him talk to a girl much less bring one along with him. It did not take long for her shock to wear off after she joined in on the conversation. She could see why Cedrick took an interest in Devyn, because Devyn personality mirrored Amanda's.

While they were all talking, Cedrick noticed a group of guys a few tables down from them glancing in their direction periodically and making comments. He was not good at reading lips but he assumed they didn't care too much for him since he had not one but three women that were white sitting with him, despite the fact that two of the three would not show them or any guy for that matter the time of day. All this was new to Cedrick because he never really had to deal with such overt racism. The girl's parents he dated in high school had no issues with him because he came off as a well mannered young man and Amanda's parents adored him much to her chagrin, since they seemed to favor him over her. In an attempt to not to lose his cool around Devyn, Cedrick excused himself to the restroom to collect his thoughts.

"Who does that nigger think he is, coming in here with not one but three white women." The man said to his friends.

"Yeah we should go tell him and his monkey loving harem that they ain't welcome here." Another guy piped in.

"Guys not to be funny but I'm sure that the chick with the spikey hair is a lesbo and that's her woman sitting next to her." One of the guys that hadn't had as much to drink as his friends said.

"Yeah and I can't place him but I think that guy is some sort of fighter or something, so you might ought to just leave them be." Another guy that wasn't as drunk added.

"Well she is just as bad as him then, dykes are worse than niggers, the shit just ain't natural and I refuse to sit here and cohabitate with the likes of them." The first drunk guy said as he made his way towards Cedrick's table.

"Yeah you tell em Dale. I'll be right here waiting to crack that nigger's jaw if he wants to start something." The second guy chimed in.

"Cody, Dale I'm telling y'all to just leave them be, especially if he is who I think he is." The fourth man said as he pulled out his phone to get a positive confirmation on Cedrick.

"Yeah y'all are on your own, you see the guns on that one chick, I bet her clit is as big as my dick."

Ignoring the warning from his friend, Dale continued his way to Cedrick's table. He then proceeded to make himself comfortable in Cedrick's seat while Cedrick was in the bathroom.
