Both of them knew it was silly to do this, both of their races would frown upon their actions but right now, nothing mattered but what they thought themselves.

He started to kiss his way back up over her body. Learning every curve as he moved. Once he placed a kiss on her lips, he moved to her side. She turned to face him and lightly traced her fingertips over his chest. "What are your thoughts?"

He kissed her forehead before rolling onto his back and looked up at the ceiling before pulling her against his body. "I'm thinking..." He tried to pick his right words before he spoke so there was a long pause. "If what we feel right now will last or if it is just while we're here helping the wolves out."

He idly traced his fingers back and forth over her spine. "If what your feeling is just because of last night, that you think you had to give something back to me. Which I tell you is a huge deal, taking a woman's purity is a big deal in any race no matter who you are. I'm thinking if you might regret it tomorrow or if you return home that you'll say that a dark elf stole it from you."

Her fingers were tracing over the warrior marks of the drow as she listened to him. She snuggled against his body and nodded slowly to his thoughts and doubts of her intentions. But the last thing shocked her. She moved up a little and looked into his eyes. "I'll never regret giving myself to you. Don't get me wrong, men have tried to persuade me into sleeping with them so they could have it, but I never felt right about any of them. I don't know what it is but there is something about you, that I actually wanted to give it to you. Last night might of made that decision for me, you gave me something no other has in the past. Peace, so there is something about you that means something to me even if I don't understand it yet.."

He listened to her and nodded lightly, letting her ramble, she continued, "Kay'n, I gave myself freely to you. If you don't remember, you did warn me but I continued it. So I seduced you and I would do it all over again if I have to."

Lightly tracing his fingertips against her jaw line. "But Maya, what if one of our people finds out. It would be bad for us along with our people ..."

She didn't want to think about that and kissed him and pulled back a little. "If that is what you are thinking then it is just while we are together here, so lets just go with the moment and forget about our races and let it just be us." Then kissed him again.

Feeling her lips open, he slipped his tongue between her lips and started to kiss him more deeply. He rolled towards her and moved her back onto her back and started to trace his fingers over her body again and she started to moan into their kiss. It didn't take him long after that first moan to become hard again and thrusting into her.

This time though, he took his time, letting her feel the total pleasure of being loved.

The next morning there was a knock on the door and Kay'n went to answer it, leaving Maya to sleep. It was Bosco, Kay'n said, "Do you need more work done?"

Bosco just caught the hint of sex in their room and grinned, "No, but get ready, we're going soon."

Kay'n arched a brow. "Going.. Where?"

It was the wolfs turn to arch a brow, "Well you are part of the pack drow, so you are coming on the men's ceremony. It's just that you aren't usually here on the day."

Kay'n nodded a little. "Ahh.. Alright, give me a bit and I'll be out."

Bosco nodded and turned around and headed back to the small group that was forming in the centre of the village.

Once the wolf was gone, Kay'n closed the door and went back over to Maya and kissed her softly. Whispered, "Have a good day with the women. I'll see you tonight."

She opened her eyes slowly and kissed him. "Have a good day with the men." Giving him a soft smile.

He got up and got his cloak and left.

She watched him go and once he closed the door, she giggled to herself before getting up. As soon as she stood up she cringed a little feeling the soreness of what they had done most of the night. She went over to the fire and poured some water into a bowl, adding some cold water to it and started to wash.

Kaisa cringed a while after Bosco left and rubbed her stomach a little. "I know little one, I don't like him leaving either but it's tradition. He'll be back soon enough." then started to do her daily chores before meeting up with the women later on.

* * * * *

There was only women and children left in the village, the children who were under sixteen were sent off to play at the other end of the village. The older children knew they had to step up and look after the younger ones for the day so made sure they had plenty of things to amuse the kids with.

By midday the women had finished the girls ceremony and now preparing for the men's return. The main ceremony would be later that night. The meat that had been caught the day before was starting to be brought out and placed into the cooking pits, and using the stag that Kay'n had killed as the main meat by putting it on a spit roast and started to turn it over.

It was when the spit roast was up when Kaisa felt a sharp pain and bent over and started to pant. Maya was by her side quickly and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and back before lightly touching her stomach. "Lets go to your home so you can relax." Maya looked over to the Elder and nodded which got a nod in return.

Just as Maya got Kaisa through her door, she bent over again with a sharp pain, blinked looking at the floor when her waters broke which made Maya look down and quickly say. "Alright my friend, time to lay down. Your baby is ready to come into the world."

Kaisa started to cry, she couldn't help it. "It can't come now, Bosco isn't here. He wanted to be here. The baby will have to wait a few hours til he returns." Then screamed with the hard contraction.

Maya helped her over to the bed and lent her back to sit down on it. Just then howls from the village rang out and Maya looked towards the door listening to them before looking back to Kaisa. "There we go, their sending out word for him to return. He'll be back as soon as he can so relax and let it happen."

Kaisa shook her head. "I can't do this ..." And screamed out, "without him!" Then started to pant again.

The elf knew the contractions where coming to fast and asked, "Have you been feeling pain all day Kaisa?" Helping her lay back and feeling her stomach a little.

The wolf nodded. "I thought they were just the baby angry with Bosco leaving ..." Her mouth opened and a silent scream came out.

The Elder came in with two of the older wolves following her with blankets, towels and bowls for the delivery. The older wolves started to fill the bowls and placing the things down in easy reach of Maya.

Maya kept feeling Kaisa's stomach. "Kaisa, I'm going to have a look to see how far you are along, alright." Kaisa just nodded as Maya lifted the wolves dress and had a quick look before rubbing the wolfs stomach again. "You're close and you're going to have to start pushing soon my friend. Your baby doesn't want to wait for its dad to return."

As the older men had sent the younger out on their warrior quests. Bosco flinched and rubbed his stomach. Kay'n looked over to him and arched a brow. "Are you alright?"

Bosco shook his head a little. "It's nothing, must of been Kai's cooking last night."

The pain started to become more frequent but he kept shaking it off til a strong wave of pain hit him which made him double over. "Damn." He rubbed his side where the pain was, a moment later the howls from the village reached them and he looked over to Kay'n. "Shit ..."

Kay'n looked towards Bosco when he doubled over, then back towards the village. He looked to Bosco as he took off back to the village and looked to the other men and they started to motion him to go and the elf quickly took off after Bosco.

Kaisa yelled out again, "I hate you, you bastard!" Maya couldn't help but grin. Since she had told the wolves to yell out what she was thinking, all that Kaisa had been say is hateful things towards her mate.

Panting as one of the other wolves patted her brow with a wet cloth, she shook her head. "I can't do this any more ..." and screamed out, "Bosco you are never fucking me again..."

Even the Elder had trouble stifling her giggles from the profanities, along with the other wolves helping. Maya rubbed her stomach a little. "Alright Kaisa, it's time to push. Next strong pain, I want you to push."

Kaisa nodded a little and screamed out again, "I hate you Bosco!" and pushed with everything she had, started to pant when it was over.

Maya nodded. "That's it. Another few good pushes and your baby will be born. Keep going, you're doing great."

* * * * *

Bosco and Kay'n raced through the forest and they could hear Kaisa yelling out obscenities which made them run faster. Bosco only slowed down when he felt sharp pain but he kept moving as best as he could. Kay'n watched as it seemed that when Bosco felt pain, Kaisa was yelling out something.

Just as they got to the village, the women looked at the men as they ran to Bosco's home. Just as Bosco went through the door of their home, a babies cry was heard and the women started to celebrate.

One of the wolves that was assisting went over to Maya and took the baby from her and started to clean it up, Kaisa looked at Maya tired and worried. "Is it ok.. Is it healthy ..." but yelled out again when another sharp pain took over.

Bosco rushed over to his mate and took the place of the woman. "I'm sorry my love I took so long. I came as fast as I could." He started to stroke her hair back lightly and kiss her forehead.

She yelled out again, "I hate you bastard?" and squeezed his arm tightly which made him cringe.

He looked over to Maya. "What's wrong with her. She's had the baby, why is she still in pain." Looking back at Kaisa worried.

Maya ignored him. "That's it Kaisa, two more hard pushes ..."

Between profanities and hard pushes the second child was born with a strong cry. Bosco looked at the second baby then to his first born then to his mate. "Oh love, I'm sorry I wasn't here earlier.. I'll never leave your side next time."

Maya started to rub Kaisa's stomach and to wash her clean as the babies were being washed and handed to their parents. A baby boy and girl were handed to Bosco and Kaisa, they looked down at their children and became lost in the trance that only a new family could go into.

Kaisa looked over to Maya and smiled weakly. "Thank you my friend, I couldn't of done this without you."

"You're welcome and it was a honour to be here for you," Maya answered. She cleaned the wolf as best she could. "I'll fill the tub and then you can relax while he plays dotting father."

Washing her hands first then started to make trips back and forth to the tub as the proud parents couldn't help but smile. They kissed each other and their children. Once Maya was done she said her goodbye before heading outside to stretch her legs.

As soon as she walked outside, she smiled a little seeing Kay'n pacing. "Hello you."

He looked straight at her and went towards her quickly and giving her a tight hug. "How is she, is the baby alright?"

She hugged him back tightly, "Mother and children are well. They have a baby boy and girl."

He couldn't help but swirl her around, he was happy for his friends and their new instant family. "They must be over the moon, having one of each."

She nodded, "They are ..."

Just as she was going to finish her sentence, Bosco walked out with two bundles and went straight over to Kay'n and Maya, "Meet Michael and Sonya, your nephew and niece."

The twins were sleeping in their fathers arms and he was beaming a smile. Kay'n asked, "You want me to be guardian to both of them?"

Maya slipped her arm around Kay'n and lent against him as she had a proper look at the twins, "Their beautiful Bosco, congratulations."

Bosco chuckled, "Of course we want you to be guardian to both, that includes you as well Maya."

Kay'n looked at Maya and placed his arm around her shoulders as she said, "It would be an honour," and Kay'n nodded in agreement.

Smiling, the wolf took his children around to the other women.

Once the wolf left them, he turned to Maya and wrapped both arms around her. "So, I guess you were the special someone they said that they've known since they were pups."

Smiling she nodded a little, "I actually helped their mothers give birth to them, so I'm honoured to be there to help Kaisa to give birth to her pups."

He nodded a little, "Strange we hadn't crossed paths before now then, I knew their parents as well."

The Elder had come out and touched them both on the shoulders, "It is because we didn't want you two to cross paths. You're both only here because of the ceremony and the birth. We usually try to time passings with warring races so they don't meet ..." She touched their hands lightly, "Maybe in a few years time it will be you giving birth to you first children." Giving a knowing smile before she walked down the steps and to her home.

Both of them arched a brow at the last statement before turning their attention back to each other. They kissed each other before sitting on the bottom step to watch the women sing at the birth of the twins. It had been over one hundred and fifty years since twins were born into the pack.

* * * * *

The week was soon over. The ceremony for the new men and women went easily along with the naming ceremony for the twins. But time had come for the lovers to separate. Kay'n looked at her and kissed her then whispered, "I will never forget our time together Maya. If you are serious about trying to be together, just send word here and they will get the message to me."

She lightly moved her hand across his jaw line. "I'll always have my feelings for you Kay'n, no one will be able to take them from me. But alright. I'll contact the pack when I travel again and hopefully we'll be able to meet up once more." She hugged him tightly before slowly parting from him and disappearing into the forest. Tears ran down her cheeks with having to leave her love.

The wolves escorted her to the edge of their territory which boarded to the wood elves and she sighed when she saw the elven escort. She said goodbye to the wolves before she started to head home. The guards watched her quietly seeing a change in her. She wasn't her bubbly self and wasn't stopping along the way to pick plants for her potions.

They were just on the outskirts of the city when one finally asked, "Are you alright, My Lady?"

She nodded, "Yes, just leaving someone behind that I care deeply for ..." and sighed a little. She wanted to hurry and go home. Home she thought, but knew within herself her home was with Kay'n but she could never admit it to anyone from her people.

When she arrived home, her guardian Aunt was there waiting. "So how did the trip go, tell me everything from the wolves. Did Kaisa have a boy or a girl ..." She stopped herself seeing her niece somewhat distracted. "Are you alright, my dear?"

Maya smiled a little and gave her Aunt a hug. "Everything went well, she had twins, a boy Michael and a girl Sonya. Both healthy and strong."

Her Aunt poured her a cup of tea giving it to her. "And?"

Taking the cup and sipped. "Oh, they asked me to be their guardians, which is a pretty big deal being outsiders to their pack."

"Pish, you are of their pack, you have worked with them for centuries now," her Aunt said, tilting her in a knowing fashioned. "And what else, I know there's something else big that happened."

That last statement made Maya blush. "I met someone. He's really special to me."

That made her guardian giggle. "Tell me all about him and don't leave anything out."

Blushing more deeply. "I can't tell you everything because I promised him, but I'm in love with him. He has the softest touch and his words are like a spring morning when the birds sing. He's a blacksmith so you know how rough they can be, but he's the complete opposite. I really want to be with him, I want to spend the rest of my life with him, Aunty. I really do."

Her Aunt nodded lightly. "Well my dear, if you feel that strongly for him then I wish you all the best. I know you are picky when it comes to men so this one must be something special."

Sighing a little, Maya said, "But my Uncle wouldn't allow me to go to him. He always wants to keep me close and within reach, he doesn't trust me."

Her Aunt laughed. "Pish to him as well, I'll speak with my mother and see if we can come up with a plan." And winked at her.

Maya froze hearing that, her grandmother was a seer. If she saw who her love was she would never be able to see him again. then sighed to herself, maybe that would be one way to be with Kay'n. Break the Kings rules and become an exile.

* * * * *

The next day, true to her word, her Aunt sent her to see her grandmother. Maya was nervous as she waited to be called in. All sorts of thoughts went through her mind. Maybe the seer had already had a vision of her union with a drow and was talking to the King about it.

Soon, a young woman came up to her. "She will see you now." Which made Maya more nervous.

Maya walked into the room and looked shyly over to the old wood elf. "Hello grandmother."

The old woman looked up. "Hello granddaughter, come sit with me." To which Maya did straight away and held the old woman's hand. "I hear Kaisa had twins. The wolves must be happy."

She nodded lightly. "They are. The Elder said they would celebrate the twins for the full month," then laughed.

The older female touched her granddaughters cheek and arched a brow before giving her a warm smile. "An exotic one that man is, isn't he."

Worry filled Maya's eyes and heart, "Please don't tell anyone. I promise I won't contact him again if you do."

She shook her head, "My child, we need you to see him, for all of our sakes. He is your match, as you are his. I see a great but difficult future for the two of you. But in the long run it will be a great life for the both of you." Then she rang a small bell next to her.

A moment later one of her handmaidens walked in and bowed. The young girl remained quiet as the old woman looked at her granddaughter for a long moment before acknowledging the girl. "Ask the King if he's not busy, I must see him straight away." The young elf nodded and quiet left.

Tensing up when she heard the King was being sent for. All sorts of things filled her mind and the seer patted her hand gently. "Don't worry child, I'm going to be doing this for your own good. Could you make me a cup of that tea I like so much."

Maya nodded silently as she rose and made the tea. She could feel the old woman's eyes on her as she moved around and took the drink over to her just as there was a knock on the door before it opened and the King walked in and closed the door behind him. "You sent for me, Seer."

Handing her the cup before sitting down, the old woman nodded. "I did Sire, I have had a vision about my granddaughter here. For reasons I can not speak of now because it is not the time, she must go on a quest alone. Once she begins, she will feel the path open to her, if she does not take it now, then many lives will be lost in the future."

The King arched his brow and started to pace the room, looking to the seer then to Maya. "So we loose one of our best healers for a quest that will save many in the future?"

The old woman nodded. "She will return now and then, when she feels the call, but she must be released now so she can begin, or all will be lost."

Nodding, he asked. "Do you see a timeline of when it shall end?"

Touching her granddaughters cheek again and nodded. "In four years, her quest will end and she will return."
