Born Into Darkness Ch. 15

Ask bellowed in laughter as he twisted the limbs off one of the creatures. "How about we force feed Kell some chilly and have my lighter by his asshole and burn these fuckers to the ground?"

Dean wasn't in the mood to laugh, all he feels is anger and resentment, and until he gets Sophie back he won't feel better.

Letting his powers warm him from the inside out he struck all creatures at once, leaving behind a burnt mark on the floor where they all stood.

"Get your shit packed and ready, let's go get Heimdall. The quicker we get him the quicker I can get to Sophie." Dean said flashing on his gear the right clothes.

The mood in the room turned serious in second the tension was so dense it would take a chainsaw to cut through it.

The others were getting ready as quickly, and as soon as they were done he'll flashed to where their powers would be non-existent.

"Dean?" He inhaled sharply. His heart clenched making it hard to breath.

That voice made him stumble back against the nearest wall. For the first time in a while Dean's eyes began to water.

"Fuck man, what is it?" Kell asked shaking him roughly.

It was her. He didn't know whether to jump for joy or feel scared.

Was she ok? Was she eating enough for her and the baby? Are they safe?

He wanted to go to her so badly, but he knew she needed sometime to herself.

His hands itched to wrap his arms around her waist, to kiss her button nose, he missed hearing her laugh, or small toes worming under him because she was cold. Her feet were so tiny, like her soft and gentle hands when she would play with his hair or rub his back.

He really fucked up. What's the point of being a powerful good if somehow someone like Eris always finds ways to mess with him?

"Sophie? Baby, are you ok?" Dean asked, his voice quivered; his pulse raced he wanted to desperately see her just to see that she was ok.

"I'm, fine. I just wanted to let you know that everyone is safe. We're in the Amazon." Her sweet soft voice was music to his ears. He missed her beyond words.

"And- and the baby?" He has never felt so scared. What if she lost the baby after Kell planted his knee on her back?

Anger ran through his like lava, but now wasn't the time to get mad.

"You know?" She asked softly.

"I saw the tests in the bathroom, please tell me you and the baby are ok?" He asked urgently.

There was a small pause making Dean tense. "Mi amor?"

"You called me my love."

Dean smiled, knowing she was probably fiddling with her fingers trying to hide her blush.

"Our baby is fine; he's currently making me hiccup bubbles and glitter at the most random times. But Neith said it was normal, she's keeping an eye on us." Sophie chuckled softly, making Dean sigh in content. At least his mate was enjoying it over there.

"A boy? We're having a boy?" Dean slid down the wall he was leaning on and rubbed his face. He was having a boy. A boy. He hoped that he looked more like his mother and inherits her compassion and love.

"Yes, we are. How are you and Kell doing?" She asks nervously. Did she still fear us? But nonetheless Dean was more than happy that she still cared for their wellbeing.

"We're good baby. Sophie I'm so sorry, I didn't mean any of that I'm sorry please you have to believe me, I was not myself when everything went down." Dean pleaded.

For a good two minutes it was quite making Dean growled in frustration. He knew he pushed too hard and now he lost his chance-

"Dean, I understand where you're coming from, but you could've hurt the baby and I'm still a little banged up. Honestly I'm scared to home come to the both of you. I don't know if you'll do it again. What will happen if you lose control around the baby after he's born? I don't know what's going to happen as of right now, but my baby is my first priority." Sophie spoke in a stern tone surprising Dean.

Every last word that came from Sophie echoed in his mind and slashed at his heart, making it harder and harder to breath.

"So that's it you're going to keep me from seeing my child?"

He hears Sophie gasp. "No, never. But as of right now it's best for me and the baby stay here while you and the guys cool off, plus you guys are going after Heim, last time I checked pregnant women don't climb mountains."

Dean wanted to laugh but the heavy pain he was feeling in his chest was unbearable. Reaching Heim was going to take a good day or two and if the weather was as bad as he remembered it just might take longer.

"I don't want to lose you Sophie. I'm scared that I already have. Things will never be the same anymore." He whispered bowing his head down in defeat.

He heard her sigh. "Dean, I love you will all my being, when I first met you, you saw me as this broken person and made me whole and now gave me the world's greatest gift, I'm carrying our son. Yes, things won't be the same and it's going to take a lot of convincing in your part to make me feel safe again because to be honest you scared me and brought back memories when I was with Danny."

Dean roared and banged his first against the floor. Hearing her compare him to that low life vermin made his blood simmer. But she was right he was no better.

"You need to figure out who did that to you because if they can do it once what makes you think that they won't do it again? Also you have all your powers back, use them I learned to become comfortable with them and my inner animals. Do the same, you're a powerful god be that god like before, the mighty power Kyros son of Nyx and Erebus, Night and Darkness. You are capable of anything. And to top it all off you now have a family, you're not alone baby. Please find a way to convince me you are not evil. I never want you to lay a hand on me ever again, this is your last chance don't fail me. I love you, good luck. Tell Kell to do the same I believe in you two knuckle heads I'll have food waiting for you guys just tell me when you're heading our way." Sophie blew him a kiss and cut connection with him.

He's never felt so many emotions at once. Love, anger, doubt, and determination the fucking list goes on and on.

Dean is going to do everything in his power to convince Sophie that she belonged to him. She was right about him hitting her. He was not in control of his emotions and actions at the time and that gave him no excuse. She was right about his powers he was so used to hardly having them before he forgot that he was a full powerful god.

Closing his eyes he found his Primary pacing and growling. It was radiating determination and anger it was also as confused as him, but it was better able to recognize that it was being messed with than Dean.

"Dean, snap out of it." Kell shouted shaking his body violently.

Growling he shook him off and flashed them to Heim's realm. Looking around it was as cold as it was before, if not colder.

His mountain gear is starting to frost and his body was becoming stiff. Out of all places why couldn't Heim pick the tropics some place warm? Not this shit hole.

Twisted fuck.

"What the hell is wrong with you Ky?" Kanati asked.

"Sophie contacted me. We're having a boy." He said. And the guys cheered and cupped each other on the back.

"Is she ok?" Kell asked nervously.

Dean nodded. And Kell slightly relaxed. "She said that I have to convince her that I'm not a danger to her or the baby the same goes for you Kell."

Kell fidgeted where he stood. "Fuck she's going to pull my ears off for sure. She'll never feed me either... oh shit. Dean! Who's going to cook for me?"

Ask punched the god on the shoulder and looked at Dean with weary eyes. "Gina gave me the same warning. I'm not planning on losing my kids or Gina. It'll kill me. I'm with you man."
Dean nodded and looked at Ajax and Kanati and they both nodded as well.

"Let's start climbing; it's a long way up." He said shrugging off his book bag to take out his gear.

A growl erupted throughout the mountain making the whole valley shake. Everyone looked at Kell.

"It wasn't me. Although I am hungry; I could totally go for those bread things that Soph made they're killer, or her warm soup." Kell dreamily said.

Growling, Dean wanted to choke Kell, but he too did miss Sophie's cooking, but most of all her; sighing he looked up at the mountain and wished they had already found Heim.

"Is that why your ass is getting so big Kell, stop eating so much bread you're going to have to beach balls for ass cheeks if you continue eating like that." Kanati said making Ask and Ajax holler while Kell inhaled sharply and looked behind him to see for himself.

Dean chuckled and felt some tension leave his body.

"Sophie, stop hogging up all the honey!" Gina screeched.

Running to the other side of the counter with her big bowl of strawberries and honey she added another layer of honey all over the strawberries. Only to have it yanked out of her hand making her groan.

"But I had it first! There's more honey in the cabinet, why take mine? You take everything that's mine it's not fair." Sophie pouted as she shoved the fruit in the mouth and licked her fingers clean.

Lachesis appeared beside her and handed her another bottle of honey and she squealed in joy. The goddess looked down at Sophie's belly wanting to touch it so badly.

"Let me go sit down and you can put your hands on him sissy." Sophie looked over at Gina and stuck her tongue out at her only to have her do it right back and smiled.

Walking into the living room the girls were there trying to choose a movie. They argued which one to watch only to end up watching Neith's Spanish soap operas which so happened to be one of Sophie's favorite.

The main character was a nanny during the day taking care of seven kids that belonged to this rich millionaire, whose wife died and at night she was an erotic dancer trying to pay off her debt to be free from her asshole boss that owned the club.

By the time the show came to an end they were all screaming at the TV and angry because it was over.

"Stupid Fernanda she lied to the rich guy saying that it was his baby! Who does that?" Klotho huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Sophie laughed and walked to the kitchen and the rest followed. She began to pull out ingredients to cook dinner and gave each something to do. Neith's eyes glowed when Sophie announced that she was making rice beans and steak along with flan for dessert.

By the time they were done, all brought out the food and the whole Amazon village were mushed into their hut. Everyone was talking to one another and eating Sophie's food with gusto, when the dessert was handed out, no one spoke the whole time they ate her flan.

The women were confused and asked if the food was charmed, but Sophie explained to them how it's made and ran to back to their huts to try and replicate it.

"Wow that was some get-together. I've never seen you talk so much before Klotho." Neith bumped her hip against the goddess who smirked reaming quite.

Gina wobbled in with a hand on her lower back. "Neith come check on the baby, she's been kicking up a storm and my back is killing me."

Sophie used her powers and manifested a thermo water bag she used to help with her cramps and placed it on Gina's back.

Neith's hand glowed and moved around Gina's stomach. Her perfect brows were drawn together in concentration. "It seems she wants to come out, she's shifting and preparing for the birth."

Sighing Gina threw her head back. "Thank god, it's about time she comes out. I'm so tired all the time. Ask better hurry the fuck up, if so much as misses a second of our baby's birth I'm going to kill him."

Sophie laughed and rubbed Gina's shoulders making her moan in delight while Lachesis was nice enough to work poor Gina's swollen feet.

"I can go bring him here if you want." Rain asked as she bounced Junior in her arms, giving him Eskimo kisses.

Gina's eyes lit up. "Would you please? Take Roxana with you and be safe."

Rain nodded and handed Junior to Klotho who gladly took him and rocked in him her arms. Roxana shoved her last bit of flan in her mouth and nodded, flashing out with Rain.

The wind slapped Dean in the face making him grunt in annoyance as he slowly began to ascend the mountain with his pick axe while Kell was his anchor. The ice was solid making it easy to use his axe but difficult to maintain his footing.

"Fucking Heim he had to be the craziest dipfuck out of all of us. Why do we need him again?" Kanati asked as he began to climb.

Ask laughed darkly. "You just answered your own question, he's fucking crazy and all the gods fear him, even Zeus' bitch ass."

Kell was about to say something regarding Zeus when he heard a feminine squeak.

Dean jerked his head down and saw Rain flat on her back while Roxana pointed and laughed.

What were they doing here? Was Sophie with them? If so he was going to have a serious talk with her about her safety, not before kissing her senseless... that's if she'll even allow him to.

Ignoring the pain emitting from his chest he descended down meeting up with the rest of the group.

Kanti went to go hug Rain only to be kicked in the balls and Ajax being flipped on his back against the hard ice.

"Don't touch me." Rain growled aiming her pistol at the god's head.

Dean looked behind them as saw no one else. "Why are you here and not with Sophie?"

Rain glared at him and curled her upper lip in disgust. "I don't answer to you. But she's fine your sisters are with her. We're here for Ask; Gina is ready to have the baby."

Ask didn't waste another second and flashed out leaving them with two pissed goddesses. Ajax slowly got up and looked at Roxana with desperate eyes.

"Roxy, please I didn't mean to hit you. I wasn't in control of my emotions, it just happened I swear." The young shifter tried to inch his way towards her only to have her growl.

"Stay away, just because I'm talking to you, doesn't mean that I forgive you. I can't bear to look at any of you, Sophie and Gina may have softened up to Dean and Ask, but I'm going to make sure that they are always being watched. They are with children and you fuckers are unstable to be around. Rain let's go we did our jobs." Roxana began to walk away only to turn back and look at each of them in the eye.

All squirmed under her gaze. "What the fuck went wrong with you guys? We're supposed to be invincible, a team. How is it that the Olympians were able to manipulate you guys like mindless zombies? Sophie was broken when we got to Amazon; she didn't talk for a whole day. Gina was continuously crying night and day. You guys better fucking fix this."

They all including Dean, hung their heads low.

Rain roughly wiped her face and left along with Rox back to Amazon.

Dean growled and began to climb without a word. Feeling more determined than ever he stabbed the axe into the ice. "We need to move. The faster we get there the faster all this shit blows over."

"And to eat too, 'cause my stomach is talking and very loud." Kell groaned.

Kanati shoved him to the side. "No, it's your mouth which keeps moving. Do you want some gum or something?"

Dean growled and stabbed the ice harder than necessary catching the attention of the guys. "Wait the fuck up. Start climbing, takes two days to make it to the peak, and that's if the weather decides to cooperate."

Ajax nodded and began climbing as well. "Dean, Sophie is ok. Even though you guys aren't necessarily talking doesn't mean she stopped loving you."

Looking over at the young shifter, Dean was surprised at his words; he hardly spoke usually stood in the back listening.

Nodding Dean clipped the rope to another hook.

It took them the whole day for them to get to the midpoint of the mountain to set up camp. Making a fire was impossible because of the howling winds.

Rubbing his hands together to warm them up; Dean thought of the time Sophie's hands were cold when she finished her shift at the hospital. Her hands were so small in his large ones and he blew hot air as he rubbed them softly trying to get them warm again.

Her face glowed with love for him, it make his heart contract. Not even Eris was able to evoke such string emotions from him. Yes, he loved her, but comparing his love for Sophie to the love he had for Eris was impossible.

He couldn't wait to see her and the baby. To rub her belly and feel him move knowing he was going to be strong, yet raised to be a better man then he could ever be.

Sophie is going to be the best mother, hell she was meant to be a mother. She has so much unconditional love for anyone no matter who they are and they as well are drawn in and can't help but love her.

His mother would love her. They were both practically the same person. Being the goddess of night people feared his mother because of all the rumors that were spread about her, most of them were true, but his mother was compassionate and caring. His father was her confidant her rock. There was not one day that he didn't see his father angry at his mother and if they ever were it would be over something silly like him leaving his weapons of the floor.

If it weren't for his envious brother his parents would be aware of what was going on. If there was on person Thanatos feared it was their father. Dean wasn't going to lie their father was tough on them when they were younger, like leaving them to fend for themselves in a desert with no powers. But his father sure knew how to put them into place. Their mother too, but she played the guilt card.

It was funny how his mother would play dirty like his Sophie. All she had to do was poke her bottom lip out and he'd give her his left nut sack as long as it made her happy.

"You know brother; your thoughts are really loud. It's really hard trying to sleep." Kanati said as he came into his tent holding a small bag of what looked like bark and almonds.

The god held the bag out to him offering him some and he plucked out an almond. "How are you able to hear my thoughts and what the hell is that, bark?"

Kanati nodded and showed him. "I can only pluck out a couple words, think of it as bad reception; and you are correct, bark is very soothing and doesn't contain any calories."

Dean chuckled. "You're a sick fuck you know that right?"

Kanati shrugged. "Can't stop thinking about Sophie I see. You know you're right, in a matter of minutes into knowing her she grew on me, even though she reaches up to my elbow."

Now laughing at the comment, it was acutely true. Sophie was extremely tiny, but with abundant love. "She may be tiny, but when she gets mad it scares the shit out of me."

It was the Kanati's turn to laugh. "Yeah I've seen a smidge of that. I didn't know whether to pull you away from her or go hide behind the couch along with Kell."

Dean scoffed. "Yeah, that's Sophie. Sorry about Rain."

Kanati's face turned sour. "It was my fault I said some pretty nasty things to her. And to think a sad fuck like me had a chance with someone like her."

Feeling bad for the god he placed a hand on his shoulder. "She'll come back; Rain has had a crush on you for years. You just never saw it; don't lose that chance now."

The wind outside was growing stronger making the tents rattle.

"Out of all places, Heim had to choose to live in a freaking igloo in the middle of nowhere. Seriously all this ice and cold is pissing me off." Kanati said as he shoved a handful of nuts and bark into his mouth angrily.

"I've been saying the same thing-"

"Fucking hell they weren't kidding, Kell I'm literally blind right now. What the hell did you eat?" Dean poked his head out the tent to see Ajax on the ground rubbing snow in his eyes.
