Tarn hung his head down, "Ya, I didn't mean to poison you. I sort of forgot dad made a lager mushroom, I just saw lager written on the side and didn't look for the mushroom part. I am really sorry Mat."
Mathew laughed, "No harm, no foul Tarn."
"Not by the way dad yelled and lectured me last night. He acted like I tried to poison you."
"Did you get into much trouble?" Mathew asked.
"A little, have barn duties the next five days."
"Ouch, but that is not too bad."
"Stalled for those five days too."
"Oh! Well, that sucks. Tell you what, I will talk to him for ya. Maybe I can convince him to be lenient."
"That would be wonderful if you did. That is five days without walking out with Cherill."
Just then someone poked their head into the barn, yelling Breakfast.
"Oh thank the gods," Tarn said, setting the rake just outside the pen he was raking. "Go eat, I need to wash before I can."
Mathew checked the mare one more time, then headed up to eat. Felicia had a small pot of oatmeal with fruit waiting for him when he got inside. She also had a small plate of scrambled eggs. Where she had a large bowl of five-grain and a big bowl of eggs for herself. Mathew told her about Tarn as they ate.
"Yes, all the ladies were talking about it this morning, I am more sorry for Cherill, than Tarn, those two are really in love. Not seeing him for five days will break her heart."
"I know. I am going to talk with your dad as we trot to the war meeting."
"It might help, just don't push him. Tarn isn't in you herd now, just let him know you hold no animosity about it and to you it was nothing."
Mathew grinned, "Yes, Matriarch of Herd Lindrose."
"Mathew!"
Mathew reached across and took Felicia's hand.
Felicia looked at his hand, "You washed it?" Felicia asked, "After you fondled Cherill's tits?"
"Nope, and you were not supposed to see that."
"How could I not? She always had the hots for you when we were younger."
"Oh my god Felicia, I didn't need to know that!"
Felicia laughed, "What, you didn't want to know several generations of Oak Valley mares like rub themselves on rocks dreaming it was you?"
"Several generations? Who else is masturbating to my image? I feel cheapened!"
Felicia started laughing harder, "Don't act like you don't like it stud. You proved that, this morning, you're just like most stallions, a pervert."
"Maybe."
"And as for generations of mares, Bea and Cherill are older than me, and if you walked over to Doreen Folsome right now and asked her to join your herd, she would turn around and lift her tail to you."
"Felicia! Really. Like I could ever satisfy a full sized centaur. And this morning, I didn't mean to look, but ever since Tarn said something in Woodshome."
"Like he ever unwrapped them...,"
Mathew just grinned at Felicia.
"No! He did?"
Mathew nodded yes, "The other week, after our little gather, he walked her home through the hops fields."
"Oh, I am going to give him such a hard time...,"
"No, you're not Felecia, he told me that in confidence. And I told you in the same. I didn't tell him about us until your father pronounced you my mate."
"Mother knew."
"What!"
"Mother knew the first time I came home after we did it. She knew I have always loved you, and somehow she knew the first time we made love. Since then she had me on birth bane."
"Are you still on it?"
"Yes, but only to keep my heat down to a day or two. I was going to wait a month or two before talking to you about stopping it and trying for colts."
Mathew looked up at Felicia, "We never talked about colts, I didn't even know if I could father colts with you."
"Mother says yes. The old texts say humans can impregnate centaurs. So she had me start birth bane after our first time. When I went into heat, a few weeks later she said we caught it in time."
Mathew nodded, "Still do you want colts with me?"
"What about you? If I become pregnant. My drop will be a centaur. We can never have human kids together."
"I didn't ask that, I asked if you would want to have colts with me?"
"Then you wouldn't mind having centaur children?"
"I am asking you, do you want colts?"
"If your answer is yes, then mine would be yes. I am your mate. I want what you want. But I do not think we should start now. I am just starting to learn magic, and we have this war to deal with. But afterwards, once we start this mage school and our longhouse, yes. I want as many of little Lindrose's as I can have."
"You think you can carry a colt with your condition?"
Felicia smiled, "It's called HGDM Mathew, it is ok to say it." Mathew shook his head no. "Really, Mathew! It does not upset me to hear it. Either way, Mother thinks I should have no problems conceiving and carrying a colt to term. They will have HGDM when dropped, but a slightly more human gene dominates since you will be the father. Mom believes they all will be little mages."
"Mathew smiled, I guess we should a huge longhouse. Because I want as many colts with you too."
Felicia smiled and looked at his bowl, then gave him a come-hither look. Mathew stacked his bowls along with Felicia's and walked them to the sink, Mrs. Mallory was just setting up a large tub of warm water, "Give them to me Clan Master Lindrose, really, a stallion doing dishes, what's this world coming too."
Mathew set them down, "A better place when stallion doesn't mind helping the mares do dishes. Human men do them all the time."
Mrs. Mallory only huffed. Mathew saw the little table where they sat was empty, so he went out and over to his guesthouse. Slipping inside, he found Felicia standing in the middle of the floor with her top off and tail extended. He wasted no time and removed his boots and socks. His pants and shirt hit the floor seconds later.
Mathew reached out, grabbed Felecia's tail and pulled her backwards into the sleeping stall. Dropping to his knees, he lifted her tail. Leaning in, he licked her labia upwards, over her rosebud, all the way to the base of her tail. He felt her legs flutter as a shiver passed through her. She was already wet with need. He attacked her vagina. Licking every square inch and slowly opening her labia with each lick. He stuck his tongue deep within, hearing her moan in pleasure. There was something about servicing her, which just turned him on. From rubbing her extra wide butt cheeks and rump, down to her hock joints. The fine hair on her rump and legs was so different from human skin. To just having her tail resting on top of his head as he ate her out made his prick ache with need.
He had to hold on to her thighs by grabbing her stifle as she started dancing side to side. She was near. He licked upwards and gave her rose the tongue treatment, then the dimple just under her tail as he slowly stood. Lining his aching cock up and brushed her labia several times with his glands, then slowly opened them as he fed his cock in.
Felicia tensed as she felt him spread her vagina's lips with his cock. The slow, antagonizing pace forced her to feel all nine inches of him as he slowly spread her open. Her labia major and minor complained from the abuse this morning, as he slowly rubbed her rawer. She felt her vagina stretch to accept him, feeling the nerves scream in pleasure as he filled her. She felt him lift her tail as he neared bottoming in her. She spread her rear legs a little, flatting her rump so he could go deeper. She felt his cock head touch her cervix. She felt filled.
Without giving Felicia any warning, Mathew tightened his grip on her tail bundle and quickly pulled himself out, then violently slammed himself into her rump. Felicia squealed, so did Mathew. He did it again, making Felicia lurch from the impact. He started at a fierce pace, slamming himself into her rump with enough force he was going to have bruises. He could feel the pressure build in his testicles. Felicia started vocalizing, "oh my..., oh my..., I am." She was already dancing leg to leg trying to get more of him inside of her.
He rubbed her rump, then dock paying particular attention to the base of her tail as he viciously attacked her vagina. Her tail base was just as effective as rubbing her clitoris. It just overloaded her system. He could feel her vagina reacting to his massaging of her tail. Her vocalization got louder and more monosyllabic. Her 'oh my's' turned into 'OH's'. He felt her stiffen as she screamed, Cumming.
Her vagina tightened as she orgasmed. The additional pressure on his cock sent Mathew over the edge too. Mathew let go of her tail and grabbed her haunches as her rear legs folded. He pulled her sideways as both slowly went to the floor, folding her right leg under her. Mathew laid down on her point of hip and rubbed her thigh as he listened to her heartbeat. He rubbed her thigh until she had a slow, steady heartbeat.
When he got his breath back, he stood and noticed Felicia was lightly dozing. He pumped the well and filled a small bucket to wash up. He heard a town crier announce a Herd Masters' only meeting in one hour as he was finishing up. Felicia walked up and hugged him from behind. "Why don't you ditch the meeting and stay inside all day with me?"
Mathew laughed, then turned and hugged her, "I would like nothing better than that, my mate. But missing my first Herd Master Meeting because I want to stay indoors with my mate all day. Might be frowned on. And isn't Rebecca supposed to show up around ten?"
"Yes, I shouldn't miss that. It will be her first time out."
Mathew hugged her, "Make it fun for her."
"I will."
Mathew dressed, then Felicia helped him into his armor. Handing him his helmet, "Go, Father should be ready and waiting for you. And don't forget to talk to him about Tarn."
Mathew settled his sword belt and daggers. "I won't."
Mathew walked to the barn only to see Sir Fellis standing next to his mare. Settling his tabard. Mathew nodded and checked the girth straps on his saddle, then chest and rump straps. Seeing that Tarn did a proper job, he put on his helm and mounted up.
"Ready?" Sir Fellis asked.
"Yes, Sir."
As they trotted out to the main road, Johnathon outlined his plan. "We need to convince the council that we need to join with the elves of Woodshome. Once that is done, then we need to convince them to move the reserves to defend the passes, as we move the main army through our valley and along the hills to the outskirts of Woodshome. If we can get the goblins to attack us there, the terrain would suit both a ground force defense with heavy archery support with fast cavalry attacks to the flanks."
Mathew only nodded.
"Confining the goblins would help any mage support by keeping them in a tight group, plus adding additional damage from archers."
They turned on the main street. "You're not saying much Mathew, are you Ok from last night?"
"I am perfectly fine Sir, abate waking with an unpleasant taste in my mouth. Thank you for your fast thinking. No harm, no foul, as they say."
"I suppose you heard I tore into Tarn for opening the wrong cask?"
"Yes, I talked with him this morning. An honest mistake. I forgave him, he did not mean it. And I got to try out your mushroom beer."
"It sounds like you're defending him."
"Maybe Sir, it was an honest mistake, and if I wasn't here, no one would have minded. So all I can say is I forgave him."
"You think I was too harsh?"
"I don't know Sir, nor can I say. I am no longer part of your Herd. It would be disrespectful if I said anything."
"And as my son-in-law?"
"I would council two days is sufficient. He knows he made a mistake. A stern lecture of reading everything on the barrel would be in order, especially since this is the first time you made a lager mushroom beer. Maybe a little restructuring on your part in naming the beer would help as well clear up something like this from happening in the future."
They turned onto first street instead of the Northern way. Mathew kept quiet as Johnathon trotted in silence. They passed the town's administration hall, at the end of First Street was a large residence long house just inside a tall privacy hedge. A small clearing behind the house stood about twenty centaurs standing around talking. Johnathon pointed to a small paddock next to the barn with an outside gate. Mathew rode over to it and put the mare in it next to Zane's mare.
Mathew walked to the clearing, all the Herd Master greeted him. The clearing was just large enough to hold all the Herd Masters in a tight circle. Looking up, he noticed that there wasn't a break in the canopy so it would shade them all day. Someone was kind enough to drag a couple of stumps over so a human and an elf could sit. Mainly most were talking about the striking of the law of seclusion.
"But they are so small, we need to limit where and what they do!"
"Bull shit, Cooper, tell that to that mare mage. Size don't matter in magic."
"What about on the battlefield, you're just going to let them loose?"
Sir Fellis spoke up, "Hit a bandit in the leg with an arrow, he can still fight. Light his leg on fire and he will stop fighting trying to put it out."
Several centaurs laughed.
"And will you let your daughter fight Fellis?"
"She has Cooper, with sword and shield, before she learned magic. I think she killed five or six Goblins in combat. Size doesn't matter, a human with a bow can kill a centaur just as easily as a trained swordsman. A centaur with HGDM is the same size as a human. A goblin is shorter than a human, yet we fear them."
"Well, they come in mass Fellis."
"True. But look at it in this way. Would you like to take on a hoard of mages?"
Cooper opened and closed his mouth several times, not saying anything.
"And striking of the law of seclusion doesn't mean you let those with the condition loose to run the streets all day," Mathew said. "You don't allow your children to do that now, what it really means that you allow them outside during the day to run and play like any other centaur child. If a family with a colt that has this condition wants to go to the store, they can bring their child. They deserve to walk, canter, or trot to the store just like anyone else."
"Well said Herd Master Lindrose."
"Here here."
Clan Master Benton spoke, "I say we let the people talk it over for several gathers and see what the general attitude is. We can revisit it in a few months and amend it, down the road, if necessary. Now that we are all here, let's get this war council started. I know this isn't our usual place to gather, but I thought a bit of shade and a relaxed gathering we can still get things decided. First, let me give you all an update on the current situation at the passes."
"We have had several small skirmishes this last week with the Goblins on the lower passes. My Captains wrote to say all three were light probing attacks to see if our defenses have changed. They have not." Pulling out a piece of paper, "We had three fatalities and eleven wounded. The total loss to the goblins was twenty-eight. Unknown wounded. This is the third such attack in the same amount of weeks. They have not committed a large enough force to attempt a serious attack or attempt to break through.
Our spies have said the elves had tried several times to retake overpass castle. The goblins are moving more troops that way, but the bulk of the army is still moving west to remove the last of the far-flung villages below the escarpment. They should reach the western point within the week. He reported that all the humans have left and is waiting for the army to reach the west fork river before dumping the barrels of rye mold into it."
Mathew looked up at that, Clan Master Benton was looking at Sir Fellis and Mathew when he said it. Sir Fells nodded, "Do we even know if Ergot effects goblins?"
"We don't Herd Master, but it is a cheap experiment that has the potential to sicken thousands of goblins."
Sir Fellis nodded yes. Mathew looked over at Zane who only shook his head yes.
"Now we are all up to date on the north. Most of you have heard what has happened east of us, but I would like all to hear it. Herd Master Fellis."
Sir Fellis straightened his tabard, then described the two scouting attacks on the farms in Oak Valley. "The last attack was too much for my little force to wipe out. Several smaller groups were able to flee the battlefield and most likely have reported back by now that there is a way down from the mountains to the upper plains. We know several smaller segments of the scouting party had made it to the ford at Far East Fork River by their tracks. So they know the east side of the upper plains are accessible to the army."
Everyone nodded yes with Sir Fellis's assessment. Clan Master Benton cleared his throat, "So we all know what we are facing."
"It doesn't mean they will attack that way."
"No, it doesn't," Sir Fellis responded, "But they now know they have an open way to the upper Plains."
Clan Master Benton asked, "If we destroy the East Fork River Bridge?"
Sir Fellis shook his head no, "The East Fork River is too narrow and shallow to provide a natural barrier. We would be better off abounding the east side of Midvale and collapsing the Great Causeway Bridge."
That statement brought some bitter comments.
"We can't just pick every centaur and move them to west Midvale."
"The east side has the bulk of the farms!"
"We can, if only to protect as many of our people as we can!"
"Ok! Ok, that is enough. It is an option, one I have already thought about, something like a last ditch effort to save the people. I have talked with Herd Master Mason if it was a possibility to collapse it. He assured me it is a possibility. Only as a last ditch effort. For now, we don't need to consider it."
"But 'we' are getting off track. This first part was only to bring everyone up to date. Now that we are, I would like you all to hear from Ambassador Zane Goldenroot from the Elves of Woodshome."
Zane stood and bowed to the group. "Clan Master, Herd Masters, I come to you representing my Eldar...,"
< Rebecca just showed up! >
"We are currently rebuilding our defenses...,"
< Is it too early to re-test her? >
< Yes, wait until this afternoon. You should wait at least a whole day. >
"We come seeking an alliance with the Centaur people to join to rid the west of our mutual enemy."
< But testing early should not skew the results. We are not pulling any klatha, just reading how much she currently has. >
Mathew nodded to Zane as he sat. < True. >
"I think we should with the elves of Woodshome," Clan Master Benton said. "The addition of their army would guarantee a victory over the hobgoblin army with the minimal loss to both armies."
"Who would lead this grand army? No offence Ambassador, but is there someone in your military that knows centaur war tactics? And just the same Clan Master Benton, will the elves be willing to take orders from you?"
< Oh my god Mathew, Rebecca had six klatha yesterday. She has eight right now. That means she is a mage! >
"If I have to step down, then yes. We all know Herd Master Fellis is better trained than I. He has the experience directing troops, all types. If this council of Herd Masters wishes to vote on...,"
Mathew stood and walked into the middle. "Herd Masters, we are arguing for no reason. You're worried about who is going to lead and who is going to follow. Both Nations will have to follow a war leader. They intern will have to follow a general of their army. There will be a General of the combined armies. That general will have to deal with strategy. He doesn't have time to learn the command structure of each army, and for the centaur army, Clan Master Benton, that is your job."
