She said something in Japanese to Zerzinski. He briefly turned around and said something in Japanese to her, and kissed her affectionately on the forehead, before closing the door after him, leaving her on the other side of it.
I stood up, and shook his hand. His handshake was firm and warm. For some reason I had been expecting cold and clammy.
"Please sit down," he said, gesturing toward the chair I had just been sitting in, as he sat across from me on the couch. "Welcome to the mountain."
