"Apple Cobbler"

It was six in the morning when Ingrid's Chicken Little alarm clock went off. She opened her light green eye, groaning at the sound on the tiny bells ring on top of the chicken clock. When she sat up to turn off the chicken clock, she listened to any sounds in the cabin. Other than the quiet fan she had on during the night, there was no other noises. That could only mean one thing. Her sister and her boyfriend-in-law stopped having a sex feast.

Thinking about a feast made her stomach growl. She forgot all about making dinner the earlier evening. She figured the sight of her older sister and her lover doing in the ocean themed spare room lost her appetite. As she crawled out of her pink teddy bear bed with her blue pajamas, she thought of her other appetite. It was something she kept secret even from her older sister. As she entered the kitchen to fix breakfast, a thought reached her mind. She thought about her longtime friend...Raymond Layette.

She cracked the brown eggs into her mixing bowl to whip the eggs with her rainbow whisk.

Doing so, she couldn't help but think of him. He was tall, mysterious, and sexy...too sexy for her standard. His hairstyle varied from crazily shaven short to long toward the ass. He had henna eyes (reddish brown, but looked red at a distance). His face looked like Michelangelo chiseled it. Yes, he might have a sculpted body like David, but when it came to sex, his life is that to Raphael's.

No, I wouldn't say he was a sex maniac. He wasn't that depraved or perverted. According to Ingrid, people, man or woman, come to him. It was because he was good at sex, no question. I would take her word. If I wasn't attached to John, I would at the very least watch the man to take notes. I wouldn't take part per say, but wanted to see a more glorious act itself.

The bacon sizzled on the frying pan as Ingrid turned on the coffee pot to wake herself more. Her weary eyes drifted then and again, thinking about that act she saw last night. She wondered if Ray's was like Mark's. As she flipped her eggs, she decided Ray's was bigger. The way his roommate commented, it compared to a toy submarine. She bit her lower lip at the thought. A submarine equipped with torpedoes entered her underwater gutter.

She heard a knock on the door and Heather came back from her imagination land. She turned down all the pans on the range and rushed to the front door. She went abashed when she saw who was at the other side. Ray?! She thought, turning the door knob. What in the world is he doing here?

"Hi, Ray!" The short, blonde girl greeted her friend, welcoming him to her place. "Come on in! Make yourself at home!"

"Thanks, Ingrid." The unkempt man grumbled, scratching his stumble chin, and brushed his long raven bangs from his henna eyes. He stared at her light brown couch before Ingrid closed the door. "Ingrid," he said in a frog voice, looking at some neon colored object on the couch. "Did you have any visitors last night?"

"Still here." Ingrid replied, walking to the couch. "My sister and her boyfriend have come back from Massachusetts and are settling in a home. I invited them here to catch up on recent events."

"I see." He bent down and picked up a pair of damp panties that stuck between his long fingers, "Then I guess these belong to either your sister or her boyfriend. Which one I could care less."

His face expressed indifference to the physical world. All he yearned now was a peaceful slumber all day. He gave the panties to Ingrid before flopping face first to the couch. "I'm so lucky I have a day off today. Mind if I crash here?"

"Sure, pal." Ingrid replied, going back to the kitchen to finish her breakfast. She slid her eggs and bacon on her green plate, followed by her red mug full of cream coffee. She settled on her booth table and ate some of her scrambled eggs as her exhausted man began to stir a little. "Ingrid...may I stay with you for the next few days? Until the chocolate ice cream bin is gone?"

The blonde friend sighed, looking at the groggy man. "Rudy kicked you out?" She asked, sipping her coffee. "That's a first. He loves you way too much to do that."

"I know...I kicked myself out until the ice cream is out of his system. The man is a horny little cat man that teases me."

"Oh...yeah..." Ingrid sighed as she poured herself another cup. She knew all too well of Rudy's teasing. It wasn't much of a tease to her. It was more like a come-on. Rudy is like Ray only shorter and thinner and more feminine...well, as far as a tall man went. His little act to arouse Ray never got old. He would go to him, all smiling and blushing. Then he would do a little dance in his see-through scarlet genie pants.

Yeah, the genie pants...always, always took Ray! Then again, Rudy would take it even further. He would then, sit on his lap, wiggling on his crotch. To make his crotch grow, he would rub his ass back and forth on him. The final blow would be the horny man, mooning at his roommate, showing off his gaping rose bud. Ingrid knew all this. She seen the whole thing!

"All right, Ray, my curiosity is getting to me." She put her cup down and picked up her plate and settled on the chair next to the couch. "How long did it take you to please him this time?"

"Would you believe eight-and-a-half hours?" The tired man replied, opening his eye to her. Ingrid went flabbergasted and almost threw her breakfast away. "No way! That long?? I wouldn't even last for an hour." She blushed and clapped her mouth. Soon, though, she saw her guest fast asleep. She smiled and got off her velvet chair to clean her plate and put the pan in the sink. She returned to the living room, opened her hope chest for a fluffy blanket and covered him with it.

When she brushed his dark locks from his eyes to kiss his forehead, she heard some footsteps. Heather and Mark dragged their feet to the booth table, feeling dazed. They were both wide-eyed and grinning from last night. Lucky for Ingrid they both managed to find a couple of robes. (I asked her where she got them, and her response was it belonged to her parents since they visited her.) Mark scratched his hand and chuckled.

"Morning, Ingrid," Mark said waving the woman. "I see you made coffee."

"Yeah," Ingrid said, walking to the cupboard to take out a couple of mugs. "I know you love your coffee with some sugar, and I have vanilla and cinnamon for Sis. So..." She wanted to make a small conversation with her boyfriend-in-law. But the sight of him and her sister doing a sixty-nine made her blush. She mixed her coffees and put them on the booth for the couple. "Yeah, anything you want to ask me?"

"I do!" Heather said, now waking up and looked at the man. "Who is that guy?"

Ingrid groaned and rubbed her cherub cheek. "That's Raymond. He is my friend and co-worker for 'Cookies & Cream' diner and parlor. He had a rough night at his place so he needed a place to sleep."

"Poor man," Heather said, her heart beating for her sister's kindness. Mark nodded at the deed. "Ingrid, you welcomed your friend with open arms. That's what a devoted friend is about."

Friend. Ingrid said to herself, feeling blue as she chugged her remaining coffee. I really am in the friend zone. Her thoughts took her to a fantasy. She and Ray looked at the sunset at Key West, smiling at one another as they embraced. The thought made the situation worse and her head bonked to the floor. Heather knew too well of her thoughts.

"Mark," she said to him with a slight serious tone in her voice, "let's not discuss about her boy -friends. She has plenty of friends. She wants to have-"

"Don't!" Ingrid yelled with a flush on her cheeks. She didn't want to hear about her worst fear she had. She soon straightened herself and inhaled deep, patting her belly to comfort herself. Before she could talk any further, there was another knock at the door. She sighed with relief and ran to the door. This time it was Lisa and a couple of her friends from Rho Beta Mu.

"Sister Ingrid!" Lisa exclaimed, hugging her sorority sister tightly. Miel and Tabitha Weaver (Tabby for short) entered the room, showing their mentor their respect by doing their Rho Beta Mu salute. Ingrid smiled. "Hey girls. I'm glad you remembered me."

"How can we forget?" Tabby asked, her huge yellow eyes staring at the innocent face. The girl giggled and her long, brown hair swayed side by side, her brown skin glowing. At six-foot-one, Tabby would intimidate anyone were in not for her friendly demeanor. She was also highly intelligent, slightly scrawny and wore her thick, round glasses. "We always look up to you, Ingrid. You're the kindest mentor we have ever had."

"Yes," Miel agreed. "You were the one that made our freshmen year...less stressful. Plus...you gave us the path to the right path and made us prepare for our tests, remember?"

"Oh right! My Rolex of studies. You guys...really did remember that strategy?"

Heather clapped her hands and hugged her little sister. "That's my sis for you. Always an over-achiever! She is now heading back to Bachelors to have a degree of Medicine, just like our aunt Kathrine."

"Yep...Florida State in August sixteenth. I skipped a year or two because I took extra credits, but next year, you'll have a new doctor in the Salisbury family."

"Speaking of family," Lisa, said, giving Ingrid her green smartphone. "I gotta text from my Aunt Kelly. She said she will be coming to her cabin in Camp Hattawata so we can hang out."

"Your aunt?" Ingrid asked and made a surprised look on her face. "Oh! She's THE aunt Kelly! The famous relative that writes romantic fantasy novels. And she's coming here??"

Lisa nodded and smiled widely. "Yes, she is." The girls squealed and danced around like little children. Heather and Mark only watched with shocked looks. Mark turned to his girlfriend. "Um...I think we are in a Twilight Zone. I thought they said a famous writer will be staying here...with her niece!"

"My God!" She said, her blue eyes starting to cry. "I do wonder when she will arrive?"

Well, peeps, I will tell you, the answer was only a thousand yards away. An ebony woman with a fringed floral top picked up her key from Billy Liberstat. She took off her brown tinted sunglasses and her amber gold eyes stared at the engraved bronze key. Her pink lips smiled at the number of the cabin. "Cabin twelve," she murmured, throwing her highlighted bronze curls from her eyes. She put her card back in her apple-bottom jeans pocket. "Billy, this is one of the bigger cabins you remodeled earlier."

"That is correct, young lady," Billy replied, tapping the heart shaped tip of the key. "I usually don't give keys like this for just plain anybody, you know. I only do so if this person is special. And you, Kelly Rose Gills, are very special."

Kelly laughed and gripped the key. "Young lady? Oh, now you flatter me all too much! I'm gonna be thirty-four in September."

"You're still young, Sugar. And don't get me started with your looks, girl! A straight man would kill for that booty!"

Kelly blushed and looked down at her figure. In truth, she was unhappy with her appearance, her belly covered by bright and colorful tops. She would soon find out some men loved women with curves. Until then, she stood to believe that men would be after skinny, tall ladies with healthy hair. She exhaled through her nose and looked to the manager and consular. "Well, Mr. Liberstat, I would like to look at that cabin now."

A few minutes later, a silver Lamborghini entered the Wisteria Heights premises. It parked where Sebastian pulled out the weeds off of the Hyacinth garden. When he leered his eye to next door, the car parked right at the porch side. Out came Billy on the passenger side, feeling excited as Kelly exited from her car. Harvey and Kenji played bean bag toss at the when they heard Billy all commenting highly from the ride. They stopped and looked at the woman with a sun hat. She followed the resort counselor into the cabin named "La Rosa del Florida".

"What is going on here?" Harvey asked with a silly smile on his face. Kenji made a genuine smile with folded arms replying, "Looks like we have a neighbor this summer."

"And here we are!" Billy cried musically, opening the beige door to the master room. Kelly whistled as she looked the huge space with a dome ceiling. Eight wood beams connected to a brass circle. with a Fresca of Florida's first settlers greeting the natives. She noticed a picture window with a rose panel at the very top. The sun's light shining brightly at the polished rose wood floors. "Now is this your place or what?"

"I'll be frank with you, Mr. Liberstat. When I wanted to rent a cabin for the summer, I expected my place to be..."

"More retro?"

"Smaller."

"Oh." Billy was a tad surprised by her remark. "Well, with you being a celebrity and all, you probably would be something as huge as this."

Kelly became amused. "Mr. Liberstat, I'm that big a celebrity."

"Yet. But I have a feeling with your next book, you'll be the next J.K. Rowling by the end of the decade!"

"Now you're trying to boost my ego."

"Boost? More like stroking a tad. And honey, you really need that little stroke. Without it, there would be nothing to inspire you to do anything. Now, how about I show you where you spend some of your time, the office den?"

"It has an office den?" Kelly piped up, her lips forming a grin. "Now that will be amazing if it has a picturesque view!"

Another vehicle came up to the Kelley cabin, the Honeysuckle Casa. There a structured man in his late forties came out. His lighted blonde hair flew from the mid-morning wind as he shut the driver door to his brown Ford Escape. When he greeted his boys with a wave, he stopped and looked at the nice car that parked at the other house.

"Sebastian?" He asked, just as his butler finished his gardening. "Are we having another neighbor?"

"It is a good possibility, Sir." The tall man answered, straightening his collar. The senator nodded, griping his shoulder bag. "I want you to find out who our new neighbor is, what he or she does. If that neighbor turns out to be a reporter, make him go elsewhere. Money is no object. Is that understood?"

The butler sighed. "Of course, Sir. I'll investigate our neighbor with further hesitation." Sebastian knew what Kelley had in mind. He wanted to make sure there was nothing media related within a five-mile radius where he lived. Anything considered scandalous, his career would be at risk. The elections are at stake. The man would do anything to keep his record clean.

Sebastian walked over to the new residence, stepping on the dark blue porch. He took a glimpse over to the Kelley family as they talked for a while and then the father walked to the house to relax. The butler sighed. If Senator Kelley was indeed a family man, he would at least try to stay with the boys. Still, the boys respected their father and his choice of running. They thought it would make their family more special.

"Hello?" A woman stated to the butler, coming out of her new cabin. He became startled by her voice. Her reaction to his unusual start amused her, smiling at him. "Oh, do forgive me frightening you like that. You must be my new neighbor."

"Yes," the man said after a deep exhale. "I am Sebastian Hollingsworth, head butler of the Kelly residence. I am quite inquisitive about the current individuals who live in these premises."

"Individual." The writer corrected. "I'm the only guest." She took her hand to Sebastian as Billy came out of the house. "Miss Gills, there you are! I was showing you your lavish bathroom when you disappeared. Oh! Sebastian!"

"Salutations, Mr. Liberstat. I see you are giving the woman the tour of La Rosa."

"Oh I am. I am sorry to cut short, but I'm setting up the equipment for basketball club on Friday. If you want to sign up, please put John Hancock on the bulletin board in front of the diner! Now I must dash! Toodles!"

As the man left the woman by brisk walking, she became stunned. "Does this resort actually have a diner?"

"It does, my lady. Now, as I was saying, I must know who you are."

"Oh." The petite woman said quietly, plying with her fingers. "There isn't much to tell really. I'm Kelly Rose Gills, an amateur writer for romantic fantasies. My niece is here on vacation, so I decided to see Lisa to hang out with her."

"Indeed? Aren't you thoughtful?" He made a short chuckle before he heard a cry from the pathway. There was Lisa followed by her compardres plus Mark and Heather. Kelly made a laugh and ran to her niece. "Oh, speak of the angelic devil! I was talking about you!"

They Gills family gals hugged and laughed, the aunt squeezing her favorite niece. Lisa made her effort to spurt out some words that went, "Okay...okay...you can let go."

"Whoops! I forgot how strong I became during last winter's ski tip in Aspen." Auntie Kelly let go to let Lisa breathe. "Oh Lisa, how you've grown! The last time I saw you, you were sixteen and scrawny. Now you're...three dimensional! College must have helped you growing those curves."

Lisa blushed and laughed. "Yeah, you can thank the dining services. So, are you going to write your next bestseller here while you stay here?"

Kelly turned back to Sebastian who was looking at an empty hook where a hanging plant ought to be. "Well, I may have found the leading man for my next book." She did think about her inspiration when Miel's stomach growled. The girl blushed and held her thin tummy. "Oh boy! Sorry, guys, I'm starving! I haven't had any breakfast this morning."

"Miel!" Tabby scolded when a light bulb flashed into her mind. "Ah yeah! This is a perfect time to show your aunt the ropes of the place. We can stop by the diner and grab something."

"So very true! Auntie, 'Cookies & Cream' diner has gotten the best eats anyone could want! From old fashioned to first-class cuisine, they got about everything! Would you like to go with us? Please say yes."

Kelly went warm-heart by considering Lisa's tender orange eyes. "Now how can I say no to a face like that? Okay, why not? I'll join you."

She went and turned to Sebastian. "Hey...would you like to come with us?"

Sebastian went abashed. "Oh...but this is your time with your niece. I couldn't just interfere-"

"Oh! Hi!" Lisa ran over to Sebastian. "So that's your name, huh? Nice to see you again! My name is Lisa! Come now! If Auntie Kelly wants you to join, why would I object?"

The young girl's enthusiasm amused Sebastian. He grinned. "Well, with a face like that, how can I refuse?"

And so, the small gang went along to the diner, gabbing mostly about the Mersfield's luck about their new chair. The news thrilled Lisa. Well...she was glad her aunt inviting Sebastian along. She liked him, and she wanted to see more of him as time rolled by. They were about to pass the costume warehouse when Sumie exited the place for some fresh air.

"Hey guys!" Sumie cried, greeting the others. Eleanor and Father Alex followed the seamstress out of the building. "Why, hello, Sebastian! I didn't know you are taking a stroll. Did my future hubby let you take your break?"

The butler coughed. "In a matter of speaking, Miss Sumie. I am coming with Miss Gills and her niece to...I believe it's brunch since Ms. Miel hasn't eaten anything yet."

"Oh, how wrong! We can't have anyone starve!" Miel's stomach gargled as Sumie commented. "I say we go out and grab something."

Eleanor tugged Sumie's pink sleeve. "Sumie," she whispered to her. "We ate a moment ago! Alex gave us the breakfast boxes, remember?"

"Oh, we are going back there to return the boxes, right? What would go wrong with a little snack?"

Father O' Sheehan readjusted his square rimmed glasses. He started admiring the trees' glow from the mid-morning sun. "I think it's nice to walk there just to know people better. I would like to talk to Charles again actually. He is..." he blushed when he thought of him. "He is quite an interesting character."
