Destiny Ch. 01

'Oh, I didn't realise...I fell asleep in Martin's house...' He looked a little uncomfortable when he was lying.

'Mum, it's late now, I will be back tomorrow, ok?'

'OK, take care yourself.' It was easy for his mum to trust him, because of his maturity and always knew the right thing to do. Maybe that made him even more pressure from such huge expectation and responsibility from his parents and himself.

His head is still lying on Kaitlyn's lap.

'You feeling better now?' Kait asked.

'Yes.' He sat straight and reached to Kait's hand.

'Kait, I am sorry... '

'Chase...'

'Let me finish......when we started this tutoring, I knew I care about you, but I don't know what it meant. After these four months together, we shared everything with each other, the strong feeling are there that can't be denied. When I found all my thinking was you, I knew I have fallen in love with you. And I know you have so many thought about our relationship, I understand that. But I am not going anywhere, I love you Kait. I don't know if it will last, I know I can't promise you anything right now. I will wait for you if you think this is not the right time. I will wait, until you give us a chance.'

When he was talking, he didn't realise that he was holding her hand tightly, nearly broke it. He was holding his breath, waiting for her answer. She looked into his blue eyes.

'Chase, we are friends, good friends, no matter what happened. And I care about you too. But we can't go any further, at least not now. You need to concentrate on your study. That's the most important thing now...'

'I couldn't, I couldn't concentrate without you.'

'How about we stay at the stage as friends, and we wait, we will talk about us after all your exams and interviews finish.'

'Does it mean you are still my tutor, and we can see each other every day?'

'Every day?'

'Can we study together every day? I... I want to see you every day.' He looked at her nervously. He was so afraid the answer would be no.

'OK.' The intense on his face suddenly relieved and smile spread on his face. Kait realised that he was so worried about her answer. He couldn't stop smiling. He drew her close and embraced her tight. He whispered in her ear, 'I love you.'

They stayed at that position a few minutes, but neither wanted to pull away. They finally broke apart reluctantly.

'Are you hungry?' Chase asked.

'Right, you didn't eat anything. How about you go to take a shower and I'll make you something to eat, ok?'

'I like that.' Then he went to the bathroom.

When Kait was making some salad in the kitchen, Chase wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, his head on her shoulder and asked playfully,

'What is that?'

'Chicken avocado salad with salmon.'

'My favourite.' He started kissing her neck.

'Chase...'

'I know.' He said while grabbed the bowl and spoon, went to sit down on the couch and turned on the TV. She followed and sat next to him, started watching the TV. They sat in silence until he finished the salad. He brought the bowl to the sink and cleaned it then went back to the couch, but this time, he pull her to his lap and let her lean back to his chest while he sunk back on the couch to continue to watch the movie. Kait started to protest,

'Chase...'

'Shh...let me hold you.' He placed a kiss on her hair and went back to the movie. She relaxed and rested her head on his shoulder. They both fell asleep as soon as they relax. Chase woke up at 3 o'clock in the morning, then he carried Kait to bed, they crawled up each other's arms and dozed off again.

When Kait woke up in the morning, she felt Chase stir behind her and her back rest on his chest and his arm wrapped around her waist...
