Divine Ch. 02

"For now, yes I do. Let me get started." Diane said. She stood up and walked over to her desk to start working and making her phone calls.

Shauntea sat back in her chair and picked up her cup again. She waited for her client to arrive. It was always a good day when Michael McKinley was there to stare at. She appreciated his drive and ambition to be one of the top designers on the market. He wanted his name well known so he'd contacted Shauntea because he knew she was a well known event planner and could help him do just that. He designed clothes for plus-sized women. He felt that even though they had a little more meat on there bones they could still look fashionable and sexy. Shauntea could appreciated that.

A half hour went by before Shauntea heard the front door open to her gallery. She raised her head to look at Michael strolling through her lobby. At 22, he was tall, standing at about 6'1, with the most beautiful hazel eyes. He had long brown hair that he either wore in corn rows or back in a ponytail and light skin that always looked like he was fresh out the shower. Today he wore a pair of dark wash denim jeans with a fresh white t-shirt and a blue collar shirt over it. A fresh pair a timberland boots completed his look. He was holding his portable laptop in his hand and wore a smile on his face.

"Hey Shauntea, how you been babe?" he said and leaned down to kiss her check.

Just looking at the man made her pussy wet. She had a strong, no sleeping with the client rule, but as soon as this event was over she was going to fuck him. He just didn't know it yet.

"I'm good, except for this little snag. Tell me you still have the files I sent to you?" she said.

"Yeah, I still got'em. What happened to the ones you had?"

"We had a virus crash out our whole system. I cant bring up any of the files that I had without reactivating it." she said shaking her head.

"Damn. Well, I have them right here." he said booting up his machine. He pulled up a chair to her desk and set to work.

Shauntea pulled one of her spare flash drives out of her purse and copied the files from his computer to it. They worked for about three hours confirming and redesigning everything.

When they finished Michael sat back and looked at Shauntea. She had the top of a pen in her mouth looking at something on her screen.

"Damn, she's beautiful." he thought.

Shauntea looked up to find Michael staring at her. He quickly looked away when she caught him and smiled. She let it go for now not wanting to start something she couldn't finish...at least not yet.

"Okay, so everything's set for the 15th. Im going to order you a limo to arrive in. Also I've called a couple magazines and their going to send over correspondents to cover the event. I even pulled a couple string to have some other well known designers there to show their support as well, so everything looks to be handled."

Michael smiled at her. "I knew there was a reason you came so highly recommended."

"Hey I love what I do." she said shrugging. "I think all there's left to do is find the entertainment. I have a band in mind and will have confirmation on them in about three days so I'll let you know."

"Will do." he said standing. "I'm gonna get outta here. Call me later if there's more news."

Shauntea stood as well and gave him a hug and watched him walk out the door. "Damn that man is fine." she thought and turned to see Diane watching her with a smile.

"You know you said that out loud." she said laughing.

Shauntea looked at her. "Hey, but am I lying?"

"No, not even a little bit." Diane said going back to her desk.

Shauntea pulled up to Calise's house late Friday night. Calise got up from her chair and opened her door.

"I'm not going anywhere with you tramp, so go home." Calise said laughing

Shauntea just waved off her comment as she pulled a bag out of her backseat. She walked up the walkway and into the house.

"I have a man named Jack in my bag. Got some coke?" Shauntea said.

"You know I do."

Shauntea made them drinks and they went into Calise's music room and sat on the comfy couch up against the wall. There was a specially made clear see through piano against the far wall with music sheets on it.

"Write anything new lately?" Shauntea asked her.

"I've been working on a little something. Well see how it goes." Calise said.

"I got a bone to pick with you heffa."

Shauntea looked up at Calise with interest in her eyes. "What I do?"

"you left me at that restaurant with that man. You know I cant help myself when it comes to him and you just leave." Calise said smiling. "Why was he there in the first place?"

Shauntea sipped her drink. "he asked to come. I didn't see the harm in it." she lied.

"Well because you didn't see the harm, I slept with him again." Calise said trying to make someone else's fault than her own.

"Ooh, you so nasty. I think you have been hanging with me a bit to long. Girl you starting to sound like me." Shauntea said laughing. Calise punched her in the arm, and laughed right along with her.

"Why are you here anyway. I am supposed to be doing homework."

"So...I have a favor to ask you." Shauntea said giving Calise her best puppy dog look.

"Oh Lord, what is it now." Calise said. At Shauntea's continued look, Calise laughed and said, "Spit it out now."

"Okay, okay. I need you to fill in for the band for my event. Its coming up next weekend and the band cancelled at the last second." At Calise's head shake Shauntea rushed on. "Please Calise, I really need you and it's a paying gig."

Calise looked at her friend. Shauntea was practically begging her at this point. Taking a deep breath she said, "How long is the set and do I need tracks for the music?"

Shauntea jumped up from her seat and hugged Calise. "Thank you, thank you, thank you. Really, I mean it, thank you so much for this girl. I didn't know what I would've done had you said no."

"Well..."

"Right. So it's a forty-five minute set. And if you could get live music that will be ideal. Maybe you could call Deondre and see if he can help you." she said wiggling her eyebrows.

"I knew you were gonna suggest that." Calise said. She looked over to her left. "Maybe, I'll see." Breathing deep, she got up. "Now you, miss ma'am, get out. I have studying and homework to do."

The friends finished there drinks and Shauntea got up to leave. She promised to call the next day and discuss the event. Calise closed the door once Shauntea go into her car and started it. She smiled to herself. It seemed no matter what she did she couldn't get rid of her sexy piano man. She supposed she could call him in a few days or maybe visit the club again. Shaking her head, she went back to her living room and picked up her book she had been reading. As soon as she was finished with this semester, she was taking a break. She saw she wasn't going to be able to focus for a while.

To be continued...
