Enemy Ch. 03

"I want you to remember something," he leaned into whisper in her ear, "I will never be your enemy." he kissed her cheek, inhaling her scent for what he feared would be the last time, wanting to tie her up strap her in his front seat and take her far away. "And I will love you until the day that I die," she turned away from him quick before she broke down and refused to leave. She walked out of that room, not looking back, if she did, it would destroy her.

He watched her go, unable to stop her, his emotion suffocating him. He stood there in the Rouge hotel, on the tiny balcony, the cool breeze lifting his hair, her scent still clinging to his nostrils. He realized for the first time that losing her was a bigger sacrifice than loosing a father who placed old grudges over his own son's true happiness. He watched the taxi pull away, tears burning his eyes; his life would never be the same.

She sat in the back of the taxi, tears streaming down her face. She didn't know how she would survive this, she would never feel his strong arms around her again, never feel the heat from his powerful kiss. She had just lost her enemy and the love of her life.
