Click here"Serena Dorsey!" Wretch bellows, "Your friend the Ant sends the same message as before. He must be in dire need of help."
"What can we do down here when we have our own survival issues?" Serena hides Jimmy's face from debris.
"Would you forget your friend and let him die?"
"Of course not. Until I figure something out we just have to hope he stays breathing. He said twenty hours of oxygen earlier. I've been counting in my head how long he has. I wish SeVen were here he would know what to do."
"Who is SeVen?" Wretch cringes as Fenway hovers above her sending obstacles flying in other directions like a gun turret shooting down the enemy.
"My mate. My lover. He died before we escaped the future. I miss him so."
Wretch has a sudden vision of the man she spoke of. A leftover vision of the future. One where Milo allowed her jar of eyes to witness things back in Lost Horizon. "Ah! He is quite handsome."
Serena stops cold and huddles with Wretch under Fenway. Her jaw dropped she had to know, "You saw him alive?"
"I did. Your friends I see vividly. In their escape into the black ship."
"Black ship? The Maltese Cuckoo? Wait!" Her jaw drops further, "You witnessed our departure back in time. Having to leave SeVen behind."
"I do not believe he perished that day."
She wanted to smile but doubted the possibility. The insanity of the moment drew her back to reality. "We have to get off this mountain before it kills us."
Jimmy Jack manages to lift his head and notices Fenway high above him. Pointing the infant giggles, "Ball." Serena didn't acknowledge his interest but in running Jimmy never lost sight of the drone. It mad him laugh.
Hearing small detonations overhead Addison looks up to see two Kytani fighters falling in a trail of smoke. Even more two passengers falling into the canopy of trees catching their descent. Like monkeys in the treetops she observes them moving from branch to branch coming down.
"Heads up people. Two bogie boys survived their ships and are coming down from the Cedars."
Serena, Bianca, and Wretch race past her with Fenway zipping by. Only Addison and Synu stood to watch the newcomers. Their rapid journey toward the ground was almost terrifying. They moved as if they were born to embrace their surroundings. As they got ever closer Addison drew her gun and shot a round toward them. The echo could be heard across the valley below. Not a smart move letting others know their vicinity but she also knew these creatures were the enemy. Vanishing in the overgrowth they fell silent hiding in the denseness.
"Let's move Synu." She turned away chasing the others. Synu whom was hardly the smartest fella in the bunch nodded and trudged behind her. With their backs turned the Kytani soldiers struck. One leaped down to the ground and scurried behind some rocks. The other dropped directly on to Synu's back. As Synu raised an arm to clutch his assailant the Kytani soldiers barbed tail slithered around the Troll's forearm drilling in and making him bleed.
"Cap,n Addy?" Synu yells fearfully. She turns to see him struggling with the creature that looked like the Devil himself. Burnt red skin. Horns atop his head. Talons poised at Synu's throat. Raising her Glock Addison aimed but knew the risk of missing the alien and killing Synu was too great.
"Dammit!" In her tormented decision her ring begins glowing bright red. The alien seemed to be attracted to it. As dagger like fingers point at Addy she felt as if he knew something. In a bold move she raises her knuckle toward him. "That's right Damian Omen look at the pretty bauble."
"Hoooome!" The creature hisses with a yearning expression. At first its language escapes her until her ring translates it to her. She poised a brow at the sudden change. "That was interesting." She thought. "Home? You from Hell? I can send you home."
"Mineral from my world. You send Rail home?"
"Rail huh?" She notes the creatures tail loosening over Synu's arm taking meaty chucks with its barbs. Drawn to Addison the Kytani scales his way to the ground leaving Synu to bawl his eyes out. "Sensitive bastard." Addy thought of her friend with a grimace. He would control his pain. She had faith in Synu.
"Come on over I'll show you the way home Rail." She knew Rail backwards was Liar. There was no trust to be had. This was a ploy. Draw him away and shoot him. Then she realized another shot not only wasted a bullet but gave others a chance at locating their position. Add that to the ground shaking throwing her balance off a bit she had a different thought on the end result. Swirling her hand in a circle a tiny portal opens up offering Rail a glimpse within. The Kytani's interest piqued he steps closer mesmerized by it. "See home Rail?"
"Hooooome." He repeats as the portal grows wider. In the blink of an eye Rail dove into the portal and vanished. Addison leers within to see him falling terrified.
"Devil went down to Georgia."
Behind her the second Kytani also closed in cautiously as his fellow soldier disappeared. He was more hesitant. Prepared to take her ring from her corpse he lunges at her. Mere feet from contact a boulder lands on the soldier crushing it into a bloody pulp. Turning at the impact Addison's portal fades away and the ring stops glowing.
"Did I miss anythin'?" The boulder was really Lowball returning.
"It's not what you missed Lowball. It's what you didn't miss." She grins timidly thankful for his rescue. Lowball eyes the bleeding Synu as Bianca and Serena join him. Passing Jimmy Jack to Bianca who squirmed at holding someone so innocent knowing her beast within would probably toss him away, Serena tends to Synu's wound.
Touching her hand to his forearm Serena's fingers turn blue at her own rings power. Instantly the Troll's lacerations began healing up. Amazed by this the Troll smiles and casts some really bad breath. Wincing Serena didn't even get to say "You're welcome." A falling rock collides with her head knocking her out cold. Oblivious her hand returns to blue. However her ring remains well lit.
She could not hear the calls of her allies. They only knew she was barely breathing.
In the distress Bianca holding Jimmy Jack sits him on her hip to check on Serena. In doing so baby Jimmy reaches out and teleports from her grasp to sit in harms way on the ground. Fenway swoops in close to avoid his death at further rocks. Within his grasp Jimmy Jack touches the drone. "Show Mommy ball." In the blink of an eye both Jimmy and Fenway were gone.
Wretch was lost to Milo's visions of the multiple Earths and the fleet of alien ships.
Chaos continued.
The very far future of Pangaea. Namely Switzerland.
"Man this is a low for even me." Elder James Ian Pryce whose soul inhabited the Reflection known as Desmond Devlin. Son of the Devil Stan and REGION Director Judith Lamb meant that Desmond was the Anti-Christ. Desmond insisting that James within him was known as the Ian-Christ. At the moment James had control over young Desmond. A gift from the Ganthorian leader Harpea just before she and Orin Ridge departed for Pangaea at the beginning of time.
James and Desmond his Host skulked about observing Judith Lamb in a Hotel room shower. The woman could easily be seen through the steamy glass. James tried not to think about her nudity. She was fit and gorgeous.
"Why are we spying on the Cow?" Desmond snarled, his persona contained as a prisoner of his own body. James had lost his ability to speak through Desmond's lips however. Stan limiting his usage to next to nothing. In doing so Desmond himself had limits. Both were in a sense trapped.
"Hey! You're the despicable one. Why is getting a good look at your Hot Mom such a big deal?"
"You are not here to lust over my Mother."
"Sure I am." James abuses the mobility of Desmond and hops up on the sink to write on the steamy mirror. Backwards. Desmond was left in the dark as James annoyingly hummed in his head.
"I'm telling Dad."
"Go for it Punk."
Once his writing is done James uses Desmond's hand to knock over a toothbrush holder loudly. Hearing it Judith pauses in her bathing to open the shower door. Looking out she instantly spots the writing on the mirror. Puzzled by it she feels a strange
sensation on her hip. Touching her birthmark at that moment gave her a chilling vision. One of a Last Supper in private. A bearded handsome Man lifting a ladle to drink from it. Her eyes bulge as the Man smiles at her winking. She could almost hear his voice. So very distant. It dawned on her the shape of the ladle as that of her birthmark. To her it always reminded her of the Big Dipper. Dancing with the man with his hand on that same hip gave her goosebumps. The word Grail stuck in her head she closed the door and finished her shower. Once done she dries off and peers up at the nearly faded words on the mirror.
"What would Jesus Do?" She deciphered the backwards letters. "Oh my...God?"
Distraught her fingers cover her mouth just as her cell on the counter rang. Trembling she answers it. The images would haunt her but she would keep them to herself.
"Good morning Handsome?" Not as much as the Man in her vision.
"Bring Desmond and let's go skiing. There's a fresh powder."
"Give us thirty minutes we'll be down."
Down would be hell. A cold day at that.
Outside the bathroom Desmond was having a tantrum within his mind. James could only laugh at him.
"Slippery slope Dude."
"I hate you Ian-Christ."
Within the Prison ships of Celestial City...
"These bars are to thick to bend. They don't appear alien so they must have been manufactured here in Pangaea. Probably by the indigenous tribes of Maya, Aztec, and God knows who else." Obadiah Ridge informs his allies. Each had their own cell that were narrow and built low to the ground. They had to sit in them. There was no standing room. Outside an open doorway they knew they had guards. The good part was they didn't understand English.
Renee sat with her arms folded over her crunched up knees. She had been crying over being separated from her son. That and knowing just how close she had been to Jack. She knew it was him but why didn't he react? Who was that beautiful woman with him? Renee Ramse was a mess.
Sensing her emotions Psi Chii, the resident Telepath didn't even need her telepathy to be human. She understood Renee's grief. Forced to wear a dampening crown atop her head kept her abilities at bay. No Jedi tricks to assist their escape today. If she so much as tried, the crown would send volts through her knocking her out. She learned it the hard way while incarcerated.
"Not my cage Obie Wan." Buku tried bending his own bars. They were definitely alien tech. "I'm strong but mostly invincible. I can't budge my bars. Anyone up to Trivial Pursuit to kill the time?"
"SHUT UP!" Was the consensus.
Hearing strange sniffing noises Obadiah Ridge squints his eyes. Repositioning closer to the bars he feels an invisible weight touch his forearm. Then a lick to his hand. Withdrawing his fingers he notes a wetness. Suddenly right before his eyes a remarkable sight appeared before him. It was the so called Hellhound as Milo referred to it as. With tail wagging the dog eased through the bars and into Obadiah's lap. He was certainly happy to see Obadiah. Truth be known Obie felt the same way. Keeping this knowledge to himself he pets the pooch a bit then sits him on the floor. Pointing at the hip of the guard he whispers, "Go get the keys Boy."
He had never known the dog to be capable of invisibility but it was certainly a pleasant surprise. As the dog leaves the cage it stops just before turning invisible again. Strutting over to Buku's cage the dog hikes his leg and pisses along the bars lower points. Hissing erupted as Buku bulges his eyes. The stench was horrible.
"You crap your pants Buku?" Psi catches a whiff.
"Not me Sis."
"Hush up both of you." Obadiah whispers keeping a close visual on the guard. He prayed his nose wouldn't pick up on it.
As Buku watched the base of the bars deteriorate he tried his best to ease away worried that even his invincible hide might not be able to escape unscathed. Of course he did survive a Dragon on a daily basis back at Lost Horizon. He wasn't worried. Yes he was. What the hell was happening?
Psi moved to her own bars to look at an angle to see the damage occurring. She couldn't comprehend he situation but worried for her friend none the less.
Obadiah again whispers, "Keys Boy."
Awaiting impatiently Obadiah witnessed the pant leg of the guard being tugged at. The guard shocked by it bent down to adjust the material and found his arm sleeve tugged on next. Weirded out by it he speaks in his own language just before he found his throat ripped out before he could call for help. Everyone in the cells but Renee offered a gross expression. As the corpse fell over blocking the door, keys on his hip rustled about.
Bloody paw prints walked over the uniform and hopped down.
"Ghost!" Buku freaked out.
"SHUT UP!" Again the consensus.
Renee now stirred at the sight lowers her arms. Before she could rise up the strangest thing happened.
"Look Mahma...ball."
"JIMMY!" She sees him appear in her lap along with a small softball sized toy. Leaving Jimmy's grasp the drone known as Fenway spins around confused by the change of scenery. Pinging at his confusion Fenway attempts to ease through her bars only to not fit. That changed quickly as he used his gravitational abilities to nudge the bars outward in a dramatic fashion. Five bars bent in a circular collapse offering a sizable exit. Jimmy pointing at Fenway pouts, "Ball go away?" Watching Fenway leave through the door the Hellhound known as Sparky drops the keys and yelps at Fenway. He wanted to play ball too. Off the pup went giving chase.
"What the fuck?" Obadiah grunts stretching his arm through the bars to reach the keys.
"Don't you dare chase that ball Young Man." Renee hugs her son tightly. They were happy to see each other.
Psi looked puzzled. "Anyone want to fill me in?"
A loud kick to his bars Buku sent them upward having realized the urine was becoming less volatile. Crawling out he gets to his feet noticing Obadiah still stretching to reach the keys.
"Need a little help Obie?" The Sumo picks up the keys passing them to the General. Obadiah growled and spent time figuring out which key was which. Buku made his way to the door just as Fenway buzzed by him in the opposite direction. "Whoa! Fastball."
Then came barking as Sparky bolted past the corpse. "Tough Pomeranian."
"Pekingese." Psi offered her own outlook.
"Hellhound." Obie added discovering the right key to get him out. He then bypassed Renee's opened bars to unlock Psi Chii. Helping her to her feet Psi joined Buku at the door.
"No other guards?" Psi looked both directions.
"Maybe they ran from Dogzilla." Buku shrugged.
"You two coming?" Obadiah knelt extending a hand to Renee
"Part of me says no. I really just want to go home."
"I think this IS home from now on Renee. Come on let me help you out." He unlocks her bars regardless of the opening. Offer accepted Renee and Jimmy rise tall.
"Let's find our way out of here."
A massive quake jars them. Everyone struggled to maintain their footing until the tremors stalled some.
"What the fuck was that?" Renee snapped.
"Serious Rictor Bro." Buku acknowledges to Obadiah.
"I still feel vibrations. Let's move while we can."
The band hit the road.
High in Lucas Dorsey's private chambers...
"The quakes get worse My Lord."
Dorsey holding Princess Kym'Ani sneers at his Vizier, "I know that you Moron."
"Perhaps we should seek safety."
"You know I'm not leaving this Mountain dumbass. Go make certain the chapel is ready. My Wedding will NOT be interrupted."
"Yes My Lord."
Easing Kym'Ani on to their bed to rest he heads away from her to his balcony. Dorsey leers out over the terrain to visibly witness the war being waged in the distance. "Fucking giants. Why is there two of them? Useless Kytani bastards are no match for them. None of these races are. Can't just nuke them either or we fry everything in a hundred miles. I'd be the only survivor. I've come too far to back off now. I stand my ground you Fucks."
Kym'Ani still reeling from God's caress earlier feels a new bond with her child in the womb. Something felt right, very right. As if a turning point in her pregnancy. She could only smile.
"I do...don't understand completely but bless you Creator."
Dorsey hearing her thoughts grits his teeth. He had a very bad hunch that God had done something that might hinder his plans. Grinning suddenly he sighs, "We'll see which one of us it the true Best Man. The moons are in perfect alignment. I can feel the vibrations beyond the quakes. The Mountain senses their connection. My benefactor told me this would happen. He was right." Feeling eager he looks down over his balcony toward the ground. There he sees the ripe corpse of his servant girl. He wondered where she had slipped off to. The girl Rebecca had given her life to avoid letting him know of Jimmy Jack. Shrugging Dorsey forgot she was ever there.
Walking out Kym'Ani found her breath. She herself looking out over the Mountains from her bed. He would confer with his Astronomers and learn of the five Earths. This part was not mentioned to him by his benefactor. As he left her Kym sighs.
"Where are you Daughter?" Fondly she rubs her belly, "Yes. Here with me. But, out there as well." Kym would learn differently.
Darkness. So much darkness.
"Where am I?" Serena Dorsey heard herself but could not see. A light in the distance attracted her. "Am I dead? Dying? Do I follow the light? I thought I couldn't die. Maybe I was wrong." The light flickers and grows more intense. "Hold up the light is blue. Isn't the end supposed to be white light?"
"Ordinarily yes." Serena hears a voice.
"Who said that?"
"I the Mother of Mothers."
"Huh?"
"Time draws close Child. Your birth is nigh."
"Right. My mother Kym'Ani has to be ready to pop"
"Do you believe yourself to be Ganthorian?"
"I-I have to be. Her diary says I am hers."
"On another world perhaps that would be true. Not upon this Earth."
"What? Stop confusing me."
"Forgive me Child. There are so very many dimensions converging. You will understand things very soon. The ring looks lovely on your finger."
"I can't see myself. How can you?"
"I see all Child."
"Are you God? I mean I know some religions believe God was actually a female."
"No. I am not God. Goddess yes. Not the Creator however."
"Sister to God?"
"Oh no. I am...was God's Bride. Mother to many of his children."
"Was? Not now?"
"I...linger."
"That makes zero sense. Did you two like get divorced?"
"No. We love each other very much. Things...get in our way."
"Another woman?"
"You might say that. He is faithful."
"How could being with another woman mean he was faithful?"
"It goes beyond your understanding. I am here only to let you know that you are loved. I must go. As should you Ser'Ena."
Light growing brighter Serena could see a beautiful blue skinned woman turning away. Awestruck she suddenly woke up. Addison and Bianca over her.
"You okay Serena?" Bianca looks concerned.
"Fine." She slowly regains motor functions. Looking around she expresses distress, "Where is Jimmy?"
"About that." Addison scowls.
Serena sat with Synu behind her to keep falling stones from adding to her headache. He pats her with a very large finger, "You save Synu. Synu thank Blue Woman."
"Blue?" Serena lifts her hands. Not only were they blue all over, her body had succumbed to the color.
"You turned blue everywhere just before you woke up."
"Lassies?" They hear Lowball and look behind them. Hovering above the ground was the Angel Razorhide. Below her a circle of rabbits looking up at her with glowing blue eyes. Razorhide although not much of a talker looks to her humans below. Specifically Ser'Ena.
