Harvey calmed a little.
"FOLEY, I JUST NEED YOU OVER HERE! NOW, please."
Harvey hung up the phone.
"Alright, cool, he's alright at HQ, he'll be here in ten, that gives us time to fill out paperwork."
They both filled out paperwork a bit more furiously than they probably needed to. They were both just full of adrenaline. They each finished what they needed to fill out and handed it to the judge. The Judge went over it and Foley finally made it.
"Hey Lieutenant, your honor, and-"
"Foley, shut up for a second. Alright, this is Fred, but you don't get to call her that. You can call her-"
Tusk rolled her eyes at Harvey. He'd obviously seen that her full name was Winifred Cordelia Tusk.
"Just call me Cordy."
"Uh, hi there..."
"Foley, shhh. So here's what's happening: Fred and I are getting married-"
"Woah! What? Hold the phone, Bullock, what? When did all this happen?"
"They met yesterday," barked Judge Peters who was skeptical of the whole thing.
"Are you sure this is a good idea, Lieutenant?"
"Foley, how many times I gotta tell you to shut up? Anyway, we need a witness."
"But why me?"
"FOLEY, SHUT UP! Its gotta be you."
"But why not Montoya, or Gordon, or Bock-"
"FOLEY, LOCK DOWN YOUR MOUTH! I can't have asked any of them because they wouldn't have come because I'm off duty. They would have thought this was a work thing."
"Well I thought it-"
"NO WAY!" rung out the voice of Renee Montoya as she began strutting into the chambers.
"FOLEY! I TOLD YOU TO NOT TELL ANYONE!"
"SHE LITERALLY TWISTED MY ARM."
"Bullock, Harvey, Harv, what the hell, man? You're not only getting married but you wanted to keep it a secret from all of us?"
"They only met yesterday," chimed the Judge.
Then all of them were talking over eachother in great confusion. A loud whistle sounded through the room and the others all groaned. Miss Tusk smiled at them all after she was done whistling.
"I love him, and if any y'all wanna be haters then please leave the damn room."
Harvey slung his arm over her shoulders and pulled her into him. He planted a kiss on the top of her head and sighed happily.
"See, I love her. Put up or shut up, we're getting married. Judge, you ready to do this?"
The judge sighed and nodded. Harvey looked over to Foley and Montoya.
Montoya's jaw was on the floor and Foley gave a dutiful nod.
"I'll be your witness."
"I'll sign it to, Harv."
Harvey looked down to Miss Tusk.
"Let's get it done, Detective."
Harvey smiled and turned to the judge. The judge nodded and looked down to note cards he had and put on a pair of reading glasses. He looked back to everyone, gazing over the rim of his glasses.
"Whether we can believe it or not we are all gathered here to witness a marriage between these two people. This is no light duty nor task, but a lifetime bond to be upheld by the law and by love. While the rest of us may find this all very haphazard and potentially dangerous something has overtaken these two before us so strongly that they have come realize that they may not be apart after only knowing each other for a whole day. Again, most will think it foolish, but I am seeing, now, the beauty in this urgency."
The judge glanced back down to his notes, it was mostly the basic outline he used for ceremonies.
"Do either of you have any vows you'd like to exchange?"
Harvey nodded.
"I do. Alright, look here, toots, I met you yesterday. You were covered in grease and smiles. I came to talk to you about your boss who you found dead. I'm sorry that was what crossed our paths, but hey, if you're gonna die of autoerotic asphyxiation then I guess, at least, two people meeting and marrying a day after meeting makes it worth something, right? I don't know what it is or how, but I haven't been able to stop thinking about you since I met you. I really don't know hardly a thing about you except that you're a mechanic, from Texas, and none of your damn living room furniture matches, but I wanna spend the rest of my days on this planet getting to know you better."
Harvey took his mother's ring that he wore on his pinky and took her left hand. He slid the ring on her ring finger and it was a perfect fit.
Foley and Montoya looked at each other for a moment. She rolled her eyes at him and handed him a tissue from her pocket. When he turned his attention back to Bullock and Tusk she snuck one into her hand and hid it well, but dabbed at her eye every so often. Miss Tusk took her turn. Hand in hand with Harvey.
"Detective, when I looked through the little peep hole thing on my door my heart skipped a beat. When I opened the door to you it stoppe. Some people don't believe in love at first sight, I was one of those people until yesterday. There is something about you that if anyone ever threatened or harmed you I'd be happy to cut them for you. Maybe this is all just some crazy fever dream one of us is having, maybe we just put off the right scent to one another, I dunno, all I do know is I too, want to spend the rest of my days becoming and being your best friend."
She took a necklace handing around her neck off and slipped a hardware nut off of it that looked big enough for Harvey's ring finger. He smiled as she slid it on his finger and actually fit.
"Lieutenant Harvey Bullock, do you take this woman to be your wife in the eyes of the law and your peers?"
"I do."
"Winifred Cordelia Tusk, do you take this man to be your husband in the eyes of the law and your peers?"
"Oh hell yeah, I do.
The Judge had them all sign where they needed to sign and then he signed it himself.
"With the power invested in me by the City of Gotham and it's municipal court I know pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride, detective."
She jumped up and he caught her. She wrapped her legs around him and he supported her weight by holding her at her backside. She had her arms wrapped around his neck and lips pressed into his. Montoya took her phone out and took a picture. Harvey broke the kiss to say something to Montoya.
"And sent to the Major Crimes Unit as well as other departments."
"Oh and I have video. I am posting it on the court's facebook page." The judge's secretary was smiling and pointing to her phone.
Harvey was about to start yelling at them both but Cordy turned his head back to her.
"its better everybody knows now than find out later, they are your coworkers and friends, aren't they?"
Harvey gave her a nod and smiled again just before they began kissing.
"Nice. I like her," said Montoya.
"Yeah, she's probably the Beast Master."
Montoya shook her head and looked down to her phone as it blew up with texts.
Harvey's began going off as well. He ignored it. The judge cleared his throat.
"I don't mean to be the party pooper, but it is closing time, ladies and gentlemen."
"Hey Harv, everyone wants us to go to the 42nd Street pub. Some of them are already there, others are getting off shift and headed there."
"What do you think about that, Mrs. Bullock?"
"Sounds good, but... we're gonna need a few minutes, and we'll catch up."
Foley snickered, Montoya jabbed him in the arm and motioned that they should leave.
"Alright, sounds good, see you in a few."
Once they were out of the judge's chambers and out of ear shot of anyone passing by, the new Mrs. Bullock grabbed Harvey by his arms and looked up to him.
"Alright, where can we go an consummate around here?"
"Here? In the courthouse?"
"Yeah."
"I LOVE MY WIFE!"
