"I'm sorry for being such an ass," Eli said.

"Excuse me, young man, may I help you?" a middle aged man stopped John in the hall.
"I'm meeting Mia Billings, she said to wait for me outside the dance studio," John answered.
"And you are?" the man looked John up and down curiously.
"I'm John, her fiancee," he answered.
"I've heard about you. I'm one of her teachers; my name is ..." before the man could finish his introduction, a blood curdling scream was heard from the dance studio.
"Mr. Parks, there's been an accident, we need an ambulance!" Zoe called from the now open door. Mr. Parks hurried towards the studio. Zoe saw John standing anxiously against the door. "John, you come too, it's Mia," she called.
John took off at a run, beating Mr. Parks into the studio. "Mia!" he shouted, coasting to a stop beside her limp body.
"Don't move her! In fact, don't touch her!" Mr. Parks called from the back of studio.
"What happened?" John wanted to know.
"Charlotte rammed Parker while he and Mia were working on the lift for the show and Mia went flying," Zoe answered. John was on his feet and walking towards Charlotte like a bull after a Matador.
"I know you're upset young man, but right now, the best thing you can do is stay here with Mia," Mr. Parks said, dialing 911 on his cell phone.
"You've reached Tyler, Lily, Mia, Catie and David Billings, we can't come to the phone right now, leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks for calling! BEEP!"
"Mrs. Billings, it's John, there's been an incident and Mia's in the hospital," John said, unable to keep the panic out of his voice. "It's bad, you and Mr. Billings should come out here as soon as you can," he added before hanging up the phone and turning his attention back to Mia. "You need to wake up baby, please," John whispered, pressing a kiss to the top of her head before laying his head on the bed beside her. "Don't leave me."
