Daniel stared down at Tiffany as she slept peacefully in the bed. Now that he mated with her, he felt a deeper connection to her. Truth be told, he was falling deeper and deeper for her each passing second. He closed her eyes and breathed in her scent.

"Calm down little one." He felt his wolf start to become wary and needed him to calm down before he mated with Tiffany again. It was bad enough that he went against Dr. Orvine's wishes and mated with her prematurely. The last thing he needed was to make matters worst. Taking one last look at her, he turned around and walked toward his window. Looking out, he closed his eyes and took in calming breaths. Boy have times changed. All he could think about was the time he spent as a lone wolf, constantly in grief because of his past. And here he was given a second chance at life. He could not imagine where his life was going and quite frankly did not want to imagine.

He felt arms wrap around his waist and smiled. Reaching down, he placed his hands on top of Tiffany's.

"I didn't even hear you get out of bed." He turned around so that he could look into her eyes and brought her hand to his lips, placing a kiss on top of it.

Tiffany smiled. "Well... I've been told that I am quite stealthy." She watched as a small smile played across his lips. She did not want to tell him that the real reason why she was up was because she could sense his internal confliction. She knew he would not want to hear that he was the cause of her broken sleep. She knew that there was more he wanted to tell her in regards to his past, however she most definitely was not going to push for this information. The last thing she needed was for him to close himself off from her.

"What happened while you and Dante were gone?" Daniel hesitated before answering her question. He did not want to disclose too much information to her. Especially since Dante has not told him is was okay. Clearing his throat, he let go of her hands and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Lets just say that we have some interesting years ahead of us." He watched as she narrowed her eyes and knew that he was in trouble. He went to place a kiss on her lips, but was met with her cheek. Smiling, he stood back up and looked down at her face. "Babe... don't be like that."

Tiffany rolled her eyes. "Don't you 'babe' me. I am your mate and you have the audacity to not tell me the full truth." Tiffany watched as he ran his finger through his hair again and folded her arms across her chest. If he thought he was getting out of this, he had another thing coming. "You better tell me what happened or else you will be sleeping outside tonight."

It took everything inside Daniel not to laugh in her face. She looked so cute when she was angry and challenging him. He felt his wolf start to become aroused by this challenged and mentally calmed him down. Now, now. She is a pup. She does not know what she is doing. His wolf growled at him, which caused him to smile. This must have aggravated Tiffany because before he knew it, he was flat on his back.

"What the hell?" Dazed and confused, he felt Tiffany's body on top of his own. Looking up, he saw her eyes flash golden brown and licked his lips. She knew exactly when she was doing and was purposely challenging him, knowing that his wolf was not keen to backing down from a challenge. "Well, well, well. You little she-devil. Here I was thinking that you were innocent only to be proven wrong. Don't challenge me. You will regret it."

Tiffany looked down at his cocky smirk and laughed. "You cocky son of a bitch. You just knew I was challenging you." She bent down and placed a quick kiss on his lips before pushing herself up on her face. She stood over and looked down at him. He still had a goofy smirk on his face. "I will not give you the satisfaction of knowing you got the best of me."

Turning around, Tiffany walked back into their room. Before she knew it, she was being flung on the bed. It still amazed her how swift Daniel was. For this guy to be so old, he sure is fast. She felt his hands start to tickle her body and immediately started laughing. "Get your hands off me you filthy dog!"

Daniel started laughing at her threat and continued to attack her. He knew she was ticklish, despite her protests otherwise, and most definitely knew he was going to pay for tickling her. The one thing thing that Tiffany hated was being caught in a vulnerable state. He stopped and looked down at her. "Say that I am the greatest mate that you will have and I'll stop."

The thought of submitting to Daniel made Tiffany's wolf start to awake and want to play. A part of her wanted to continue to challenge Daniel just to see if her wolf would come out, but the bigger part of her knew that they should stop. It was bad enough that they already mated. The last thing they needed was to mate once again, this time resulting in a baby. "Do you think I am pregnant?"

Daniel was startled by her question, but quickly gathered himself together. He wondered what prompted her to ask this question. Honestly, he did not know how to answer. There was a possibility that she was pregnant, however he did not want to tell her this only for it to be untrue. He looked down at her lips so that she would not be able to read his eyes and thought of what to say. A few silent moments passed between them before he opened his mouth to speak. "I will not say that you aren't, however at the same time I will not say that you are. It's a very sticky situation right now that ultimately depends upon your wolf."

Moving from atop of her, he rolled over onto his back and sighed. He knew that she would have questions for him, and if he was honest with himself he really did not have the answers for her. He barely had all of the answers to his questions about her. He felt the bed move and looked over to find Tiffany sitting Indian style on the bed.

"What do you mean? You kind of gave me a vague answer there Daniel." Tiffany waited for his response. She could feel him blocking her out of his thoughts and that frustrated her. Here they were supposed to be mated and yet he was still purposely blocking her from his thoughts. Did he not trust her?

"No. I do trust you. It's just a habit for me to block my thoughts. Something that I haven't shaken yet." Daniel looked over at her to see if she understood what he was saying and relaxed a bit when she nodded her head. "And to answer your other question... we do not know what exactly is going on with your wolf." He saw her eyes narrow and continued. "In order for you to get pregnant, you and your wolf need to be fully one. Furthermore, there is something strange with your wolf. Dr. Orvine will not say, but when I met you, I found that you were not just half human and half Were. It was as if you have a third hidden component. Kind of like Madison, but not really like Madison because she was fully human before Dante turned her." He could feel Tiffany's confusion and realized that he was talking in circles.

Closing his eyes, he tried to clear his mind. It was moments like this that he dreaded. He hated not being able to provide Tiffany with the answers she wanted. Even when she asked him about his past, he couldn't give her everything that she wanted and could only hope that the information that he did share with her was enough. He felt his mind start to drift and brought his attention back to the present situation. Clearing his throat, he opened his eyes and turned his head so that he was looking into Tiffany's, "Don't worry yourself about it. Whenever Dr. Orvine discovers what exactly is going on, I will tell you. Otherwise, I don't want you to be too worried about this. It will be solved. I will make sure of it."

Tiffany heard the promise in his voice and felt her body start to relax. If she was honest with herself, she wasn't worried about not knowing what she was. If anything, she was nervous about the possibility of being something else other than just half human and half Were. That would mean that her parents lied to her somewhere in her past. "If I am something else, what do you think that it could be?"

Daniel hesitated. He had his speculations, however he did not know if she would be open to hearing them. He must have not blocked this thought because he felt her body start to heat. She was made at him. "You better not, not tell me what you think I could be Daniel." The tone of her voice almost made him want to laugh, however he stopped himself before he did.

"Well..." He glanced over at her and saw the look in her eyes. He was not backing out of this one. "How and where exactly did you meet Madison?"

Tiffany frowned her face. "We met in school. I was the quiet girl and she was the overly protective girl. Opposites attract. I don't see where you are going here Daniel." She watched as Daniel once again closed his eyes. She noticed that he did that whenever he was trying to gather he thoughts. She could only imagine what it was he was thinking at this moment.

"What was the school named? The school that you two went to?"

"Ms. Sophia's School for Gifted Girls. It was a private school. Again. Where are you going with this Daniel?" Daniel smiled. He should've known that is where Tiffany went to school.

"And your mother put you into this school?" When he saw Tiffany nod her head, he looked up at the ceiling. "You should look that school up whenever you get a chance. It has an... interesting history. You see, Ms. Sophia was not just human. She comes from a long history of ancient witches." He paused for a moment in deep thought. "Actually. If I'm not mistaken, she comes from the first lineage of witches. Somewhere down the line her greatest grandmother was the first witch to walk the earth and then so on and so forth. She opened that school as a way to protect the young witches whenever the whole witch hunt happened here in this country. It just so happened that it continued to operate long after her death and now there is a mixture of both witches and humans walking within the school. Plus a few Weres and vampires, but definitely a few."

"So what are you trying to say? I am one of the Weres that went there, I guess?" A small chuckle left Daniel.

"Woman. What I am trying to say is that I believe your mother was a witch. A powerful witch at that, seeing that your own father could not sense her powers and thought that she was just human. You see, there are the witches that come from the ancient lineage and then the supplemental witches. The witches that come from the ancient line have powers that are far too superior. Quite frankly, they could wipe out the everyone on this earth if they wanted to. It's kind of frightening when you think about it. But anyway, from a young age, these witches are taught how to mask their powers. Essentially, they are taught how to constantly place a spell over themselves so that other non-humans will not be able to sense that they too are non-human. That's what your mother did whenever she married your father. That's the reason that she died whenever he tried to pass the Were gene to her. You see, Weres and witches are not meant to be together. Witches are not meant to be with anyone really besides other witches."

Tiffany moved so that she could rest against the headboard and closed her eyes. Never in her wildest dream did she suspect her mother of being a witch. She tried thinking back to the times when her mother was alive and see if there were ever moments when her mother acted strange. Don't get her wrong, her mother was not the most normal person, however she was never strange either. All of this did not make sense to her though. How is is that she is half Were?

"Well that's an easy question to answer. Just because your mother did not have the Were gene does not mean that she cannot carry a child that it half Were. Now I am only speculating here, however I am usually right." Tiffany rolled her eyes at his last statement. Leave it up to Daniel to be cocky.

"Well how can we find out?" When he did not answer her, she looked over at him and found him in deep thought.

"Honestly, I do not know. Finding your mother's ancestors is going to be hard. Usually the witches that come from ancient lineage stay very much hidden. I'm actually surprised that your mother was so out in the open."

"So you are basically saying that I may never know what I am unless we find one of my mother's family members? Great." Tiffany slid off the side of the bed and started to pace the room. Leave it up to her to be given the short stick. What the hell was she going to do now? From the way Daniel was making it seem, finding her mother's family was a needle in a hay stack; a ghost mission really. "Dammit."

Daniel watched in amusement as she paced the room. Little did she know, he was already on it. He remembered seeing her mother at one point in time in his life and he knew for sure that if he thought hard enough, his wolf could remember her scent. All he needed was a little bit of the smell so he could start tracking her family. Of course, this is if the smell that she gave off in the brief moments was her actual scent, however he would get to that crossroads whenever it happened. He came back to reality whenever he heard Tiffany curse under her breath and decided it was time he calmed her down a bit.

Getting up from off the bed, he walked over to her and grabbed her shoulders so that she would stop moving. He looked deep into her brown globes that now had little specks of golden honey within them and smiled. "Everything will be okay love."

Tiffany averted her eyes from his so that he could not see her uncertainty. She bit her bottom lip and let out a sigh. "How do you know Daniel? Sure you have magical powers that nobody knows of, however how are you so sure that you can find them?"

Daniel thought for a moment before placing a kiss on her forehead and walking away. Truth be told, he did not know if even he could find her family. Witches were always mysterious to him. The fact that nobody knew how exactly they came about is scary. It was as if they suddenly appeared out of nowhere with powers that are deadly to both humans and non-humans. He needed to speak with Dante about this. Something inside of him was telling him that Madison was not just human as well. There were rarely girls who went to Ms. Sophia's that were only human. Even the fact that Madison turned before the full moon was strange to him.

Daniel was brought out of his thoughts when he realized where he was. Looking around the room, he examined the many books that were aligned upon the walls. His father built the compound library some years back whenever the humans went on a Were hunting spree as a way to provide everyone with the knowledge they needed.

"What are you doing inside of here?" Daniel turned around at the sound of his sister's voice and and sighed.

"I'm trying to find a book." Alexandra rolled her eyes.

"Well no shit Sherlock. What exactly are you looking for. I can probably help you find it being that you haven't been in here for years. Things have moved around a bit." She walked over to stand beside Daniel, waiting for his response. After some moments passed, she looked up at him quizzically.

"You don't want to tell me, do you?" Daniel did not know what to say. Yes, he did not want to tell her, however he knew that if he did not tell her what was going on with her friend, he would pay for it later.

"How's your husband doing?" Alexandra knew he was trying to change the topic. He always did this whenever he did not want to explicitly tell her no. Whatever it was he was looking for had to be related with someone she cares dearly about. Otherwise he would've told her. Taking note of this, Alexandra ran her fingers through her hair and sighed.

"I guess he is doing well." Daniel noticed a certain despair within her voice and wondered what exactly was going on between Alexandra and her husband. Truth be told, he never really liked her husband.

"Carlo right?" Alexandra rolled her eyes.

"His name is Luke." Daniel knew and did not care what his name was. He was causing his sister pain, which was making him angry.

"I never liked him." Alexandra looked over at her brother, who was looking at her intently. She knew he was trying to read her mind. "He seemed... sneaky. Let's face it. We all know that he killed Scott's only son in order to become next up."

Alexandra looked away. There was and continuous to be a running rumor that her husband unfairly became Alpha due to the previous Alpha suddenly losing his only son. Before, she did not believe these rumors and took then as such. However, as time started to pass and she started to see the revengeful jealous side of Luke, she too started to suspect that something strange occurred back then. Of course she never brought it up for the sake of her family, but she definitely took note of it. Clearing her throat, she placed a smile on her face and playfully slapped Daniel on his shoulder.

"Don't act like a thirteen-year-old child Daniel. We all know those were rumors. But I have to go now. I need to start packing for my departure." Daniel watched as his sister hurriedly left the library and smirked. There was something going on between her and Luke, and he had a feeling he wasn't going to like what it was. The fact that she was so jittery and nervous unsettled him. Alexandra was never jittery. He felt himself start to growl and calmed himself down. "Easy now. In due time you will be able to rip that bastards head off. Now. Back to the task at hand."

He walked further down the rows so and stopped at the one he was looking for.

"Ancient Sorcery." Walking down the aisle, he scanned his eyes over the many titles. "Ah, ha!" Reaching up, he grabbed the book and wiped the dust that was collecting off. "African sorcery : Queens ati Ọba ti awọn Sankts Race."

"Since when did you know Yoruba?" Startled, Daniel looked over at Madison with wide eyes. Usually he could easily sense when someone was coming near him and yet he didn't even hear Madison enter the room. Collecting himself, he placed a soft smile on his face.

"The question is, how do you know Yoruba?" Madison rubbed her belly and laughed.

"Well, my mom was African Daniel. Nigerian exact. That was one of the things she taught me before she passed. The one thing I remember about her. Which is weird considering I was three when she passed. I don't know." Daniel nodded his head slowly. This was information he needed. He wondered if Dante knew this about Madison.

"Do you remember anything else about her?" He watched as she looked up in deep thought before answering him.

"No. Not really. She did leave me this thing though." Madison pulled out the necklace she was wearing from inside of her shirt and moved closer to show him. "I honestly have no clue what it is our what it means."

Daniel looked closer at the necklace. It was a simple five point star made out of gold with a lavender diamond in the middle of it. He couldn't remember where, but he has seen that star before. Smiling, he moved back. "It is very beautiful. Do you where it all the time?"

Madison nodded her head. "Basically. My father told me to keep it on. He said it was a way to keep my mother close to me. That she was always watching over me. I guess she really is seeing that I'm still here. But enought about this. Are you coming to dinner tonight?"

Daniel was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't hear what Madison asked him. Waving her hand in front of his face to get his attention, she laughed. "Hello? Danny, are you coming or not?"

Daniel nodded his head and watched as she left. He needed to talk to Dr. Orvine fast. He had a feeling that him and Dante were in for a very unexpected discovery.
