"Me either. Last night was amazing, but what about today?"
"Today,we go on a date-" Marcelo winked.
"Probably should have done that first." She giggled.
"Well we saved the best for first." He smiled convincingly, and she couldn't help but agree.
"I'll go get my coffee while you hop in the shower then we can go." He kissed her lips again and she smiled and then whistled when he dropped his towel to wrap a robe on his body. Rain watched him walk away and then slipped out of bed.
She did a little happy dance to the shower. There was nothing that could bring her down from this high. She stole one of Marcelo's big robes and went into her room to get some clothes. Rain grabbed a nice dress but before she could get out the door her phone vibrated.
She went to her purse on the dresser and grabbed her cell from it. She didn't recognize the number, but felt it may be important so she answered.
"Hello, Rain speaking. How may I help you?"
"I see you met your new man huh?" Rain's face became white and her hands started shaking. She could recognize that voice anywhere.
"Jessie?" She questioned.
"Still so smart I see, hows it going honey? I miss you." Rain went to the bedroom door and closed it, and brought her voice to a whisper.
"I don't know what kind of game your trying to play but I haven't spoken to you in years. After everything you and my mother have done I plan on keeping it that way. I have no desire to speak with you Jessie. I don't know how you got my number, but lose it. Bye." She was ready to hang up but he stopped her.
"Wait! What about your soldier? What about your white soul mate?" Jessie laughed.
"I guess you've found someone to accept those freak show powers of yours-" Jessie paused at Rains harsh breath and silence.
"Oh no, let me guess, you haven't told him have you? I guess I'll have to change that." Rain felt fear creep in her heart. How had he found her?
"What do you want Jessie? After all these years, why?"
Rain swallowed the lump in her throat. He had called on purpose knowing she couldn't read the energy. There was someone else there she was sure it was a her mother. She had to help him but how when they were unlinked.
"The land. Your father left the land in your name. Unfortunately, without your permission we haven't been able to do anything with it. That's where you come in." Jessie told her and Rain felt sick.
"My father wanted that land for the people, which is who I planned on releasing it too. Not you and my money hungry mother."
Rain started pacing. She couldn't let them have it. She couldn't do that to her father.
"I would rethink that if I was you. I mean I could easily pop up whenever I want to. I know your living with him. I know your probably screwing him. Just think how devastated you'll be when I tell him your secret. Plus, I think I still want you Rain."
"Your sick Jessie, I want you and my mother to leave me alone. I'm warning you to stay away from me."
"And if I don't? You have till the end of the end of the month to decide what you want to do. After that I may have to pop in for a little visit."
Rain heard the click and went to the window. She felt tears come in her eyes. She felt anger an emotion not common for her. They were trying to ruin her. After all these years of freedom, and leaving the past behind. They were back.
"No shower yet?" Marcelo opened the door and Rain jumped still clutching the phone in her hand.
"Nope, just checking my voice mail." Rain lied and it stung her throat. Keeping things inside is one thing and lying is another. She felt horrible.
"Well no more calls today. Besides you work for me, your not allowed to have any other clients. I may get jealous." Marcelo teased and gathered her in his arms and she melted. She needed comfort and she laid her head against his chest.
"I wasn't planning on it." She gave a halfhearted smile and kissed his lips. Marcelo pulled her back to look at her.
"Is everything okay? Are you feeling regret?" Marcelo questioned feeling his own body tense and Rain shook her head.
"Of course not. It's just I'm nervous about our date is all. I want things to go well with us." Rain said which wasn't a complete lie. She was worried about them taking a step towards being closer with one another.
"Things will go well. We have to stop stressing and just let what we feel be our guide. I don't know a lot of things Rain. I do know what happen between us last night was real, and special. We had a connection, and I'm ready to explore that if you are."
Marcelo kissed her lips and Rain pulled him closer needing him so much, but she couldn't bring herself to tell him why.
"I am Marcelo but-"
"No buts, I'm taking you to the shower." Marcelo lifted her in his arms and she squealed.
"Marcelo, your leg." Rain warned him wanting to get down.
"The shower." He responded and she hung onto his neck as he had combated her stubbornness with cave man tactics and was winning the battle. Yet it was the war she felt coming that was most frightening to her.

Please finish this story; nice continuation of Smooth Jazz.
Spanish vs italian
You need to sort out a big nationality/language mess in this story. Let's start with the name. If Marcelo is Italian, his first name should be spelled Marcello and his last name shouldnt be Gonzalez (that's Spanish). It's not "Amor", it's "amore" in Italian. "Nunca" does mean "never", but again, in Spanish, not Italian. Etcmore...
Dam Jesse. Rain deserves to have some happiness in her life.
