"I can't let this get out, Avery. It will ruin his entire life....I can't....I....I'm sorry." Thomas said, kneeling down next to Avery, holding his bloodied hand. Avery coughed and choked on his own blood. He grunted in pain, kicking his legs weakly, trying to get up. He got nowhere. Thomas shushed him quietly and stroked his hair as the life was slowly drained out of him. Avery whimpered and pawed weakly at the knife in his stomach until he no longer had the strength to move. He sat there, slumped against the wall, gasping for air like a fish out of water. He panted softly and his glazed eye's scanned the room, as if looking for someone else to help him. Thomas's eyes were shut tight as he held Avery's hand. He cried softly and was mumbling a prayer for Avery. Avery stared at the man he loved, and used the last of his strength to reach his hand up, the once milky skin dyed crimson. He caressed Thomas's cheek for a second, holding eye contact for the last time before his hand fell and he slipped away. Thomas cried silently over the cold body of Avery. Suddenly he looked up and wiped the tears from his eyes with bloodied hands. His face smeared with blood, he spoke.
"Go downstairs, Michael. Don't come up until I tell you." Thomas said coldly. Michael stared for a second longer, not moving. "Go!" Thomas shouted. Michael snapped out of it and looked at Thomas, before running downstairs on weak legs.
Thomas scooped up the dead weight of Avery's once lively body. He picked him up and carried him out of the room, droplets of blood leading the way. He panicked and ran up the steps with the body. He had to make sure no one ever found it, so Michael would be safe.
