"Yes, it's a corporate project actually, the client is renovating the restaurant at his boutique hotel. If he likes it there's a chance he'll want to discuss a full-scale renovation of several other outlets." Gemma knew full well she was making it sound more impressive than it really was, but she felt the need to stand up for herself, now that she'd regained her composure.

"She's got a real knack for this stuff." Ryan said, winking at Gemma across the table. She met his wink with a half-hearted smile, and looked back down at her plate.

"How hard can it be." Sophie muttered under her breath, just loud enough for Gemma to hear. Gemma closed her eyes and rubbed her temples.

Lizzie looked over at her, concerned. Ryan did the same. Gemma excused herself from the table.
