I had been taken advantage of. And Phillip was going to pay. I hate to get revenge somehow. Anyway, he set the whole thing up.
~
I climbed in the back of the limo. As soon as I closed the door I used my pissed off tone. "Phillip."
"Yes. Ma'am."
"You're an absolute bastard."
"Why?"
I longed for a shower, and opened the window to let out the smell of sex. "This whole love thing was a bad idea. Can't deal with it. Fell in love twice, been broken twice. Just going to go back to my toys."
"Toys?"
"Oh come on. Don't act all innocent. I heard about the day the valet found a cock ring in your car."
"It wasn't my car, it was the wife's. But more alarmingly the cock ring also wasn't mine... it was a cause of much tension between me and my estranged wife."
"Oh. You and your wife are now estranged?"
"Yes. I threw her out."
I felt alarmed. Phillip had found some hidden steel. "You threw out the mother of your children?"
"She did have an affair, Ma'am."
"I know."
"And to be honest. I didn't throw her out. She walked out. In fact she left with her new lover. The owner of the cock ring, in case you hadn't done the math."
"Ah. That makes more sense."
"How does that make sense?"
I covered my face with my hands... that smelled of penis, then shed a tear. "Be quiet, please. I'm an emotional mess, all thanks to your grand idea of online dating."
"They always say third time's the charm."
"No. I can't deal with it. I haven't cried as much as this since my pet dog died."
"You cried? Want me to pull over and give you a hug?" Phillip didn't wait for me to answer and pulled the car onto the sidewalk. He then climbed over the seat and into my compartment.
"Thank you, Phillip."
"You're most welcome."
I had always pitied Phillip for being so useless at love. So being comforted by him was a whole new low for me. "Phillips."
"Sush. Just let it out, Ma'am."
"Phillip."
"It's OK. Feel free to squeeze me."
"Phillip. I can see your erection."
"Christ. I forgot I was wearing loose fitting boxers, rather than my usual Y-fronts. Forgive me, Ma'am."
Today couldn't end quickly enough. "I think you better get back to your driving."
"Yes, Ma'am. Straight away Ma'am."
Chapter 4
There was a knock on my door. I left it. Couldn't be arsed. I had been in a dark place for a few days now. My future would be just me and the business. Phillip too. He was renting a room until he found a new place. That guy is a turd that won't flush. There was another knock. Christ, whoever it was persistent. "Phillip there's someone at the door."
"I'm on the toilet, Ma'am."
"Jesus."
"Sorry."
I walked to entrance hall and switched on the security monitor. It was Derek. My heart fluttered. In fact my hand shivered as I pressed the intercom. "What do you want?"
"Your forgiveness. Please open the door, so we can speak face to face."
"You already have my forgiveness . But it would be a bad idea to open the door. Please go now."
"I won't go. Because you're worth fighting for."
"How so?"
"Well, I don't want to dance with anyone else but you."
I couldn't help but smile as a tear welled from my tear ducts. "Even with my two left feet?"
"Even with your two left feet."
"Promise?"
"I have brought you a ring to show you how committed I am."
"You want to marry me?"
"I think it would work, I want love, and I'm pretty sure you do. And I promise, it has nothing to do with living in a big ass skyscraper."
I opened the door, then wrapped my arms around Derek. "I love you."
~
We waited to make love until our wedding day. Derek wanted me to leave my dress on. But I wanted him naked, in all his ebony glory. He had been to the gym on a daily basis for six months, transforming his podgy self into a lean mean warrior.
But this warrior knew how to love. His tender kisses were testament to that. The kisses caressed my neck while I wrapped myself around his dark skinned body. All the while Derek whispered sweet nothings into my ear, only punctuated by his kisses. This was the man I had married, the man who loved me. And I was glad to say, I loved him deeply.
I gasped as he entered me, but it still felt comfortable as if it was meant to be. We soon built momentum. It was intense. As I gazed into his dark eyes I felt myself well with passion.
I held on to Derek's broad shoulder as he quickened the pace. We erupted together, our cries of love chimed as loud as wedding bells.
~
I had never wanted children. But now I hoped that it wasn't too late. But even if it was - we always had little Jason. A boy I now called son.
