I like many US citizens, but some are so fucking xenophobic. Grow up, and realise most of the English-speaking world speaks English, not the US brand.
Dragging it out, if the story takes place in the U.S. then the manner of speaking should reflect that, drunk not pissed, room or apartment not flat.
