I felt nervous, but curious to see where it was all heading. Before that weekend had begun, I'd had no idea I would be in a hotel room with my best friend. And it wasn't just sex . . . I was seriously falling for her. It wasn't something that could possibly be taken lightly. My whole world was changing . . . could I change with it?
I listened to Ana's soft breathing, felt the rise and fall of her chest as she slept soundly against me.
'Yeah,' I decided. 'Yeah, I can change. I can become the guy she needs.' At that moment of quiet contentment, that was all I wanted in the world.
It didn't even occur to me then that maybe I already was that guy.
