Heaven's Kingdom Ch. 01

"Relax, I get what you meant. And of course, I consent to you doing whatever you want with me. You've had free range over me for years now and I don't ever plan on revoking it. But... the idea of moving in here permanently is very tempting. Your bed is very comfortable."

"If you want to, I'd love to have you. Maybe we could knock out a few walls and combine our rooms into one big super house or something. Just as long I get to share a bed with you forever."

River brushed a hand over his cheek, "I would love that, my lord."

Jax smiled, "Great! The more time I get to be with you, the better."

"Just as long as you start sharing your time."

He sighed and rolled his eyes, "Yes, mom. I'll try to start seeing other women too. Can't believe you're the one suggesting it."

"Not suggesting it but still."

"Well, considering my limited dating experience, do you have any ideas who would fit in with this nonsense up here?"

"You're asking me?"

"I already have everything I want in you, but since you're going to push me to be greedy, and since you're going to have to live with these people too, and since I don't get out much, I figured you would have some ideas in mind. At the very least someone you could tolerate."

River brought a finger to her chin, "Hmm, I could probably do you one better than tolerate."

"Friends?"

"Try sisters."

"I wasn't aware you had siblings."

"I don't. But life in the military, especially a clam party like the royal guard, you do get close with each other. I could come up with some names, make some profiles, have them sent up here naked for you to look at, the usual."

Jax blushed, "Wait, what?"

"I could make a portfolio of people I like, set up a few dates for you to get to know them and such and-"

"No, that last part."

"Oh that. Uh... yeah, I could have them leave their armor at the door so you can get a look at them. They're all sorcerers like I am so don't expect them to age normally."

"I hope they're all of a similar age to you or I."

"Of course. None of them are in their eighties or something if that's what you're worried about. Not that you'd be able to tell if they were."

"Humph. Very well. I'll leave it in your very capable hands. And since I know you want to, you can organize your little strip show."

River smiled, "Thank you, my lord."

"Though I get the feeling it's more for you than it is for me."

"Well... maybe a little. Gives me the perfect excuse to order all of them to get naked in front of me."

Jax rolled his eyes as he settled back into his spot beside her, planting a kiss in the crook of her neck. River let out a small squeal of delight, tilting her head to his.

"Well looks like we'll have a busy next few weeks. But for now... lets enjoy this at least."

He draped and arm across her chest, pulling her close. River let out a contented sigh, allowing her eyes to close. Their nude forms drew closer together until sleep overtook them both. Before her mind slipped away, River allowed herself a momentary dream.

This moment was wonderful. And maybe, with the right people, sharing it wouldn't be nearly so bad.
