As she sat thinking Char suddenly brought herself to the here and now. The shower wasn't running and she had no idea where Terry was. She got up and walked to the bathroom and saw the light was on. She knocked softly and listened for a response. When she didn't hear one she suddenly felt a pang of panic and opened the door.
Terry jumped from the seat as the door opened and stood still in his undershirt and briefs. Char stopped short as she saw the near undressed man and she had her mouth open in surprise. She could guess he was slim, but when she saw his tiny frame she almost giggled. Then the happy thought passed as her eyes found the bruises on his legs. What's more she saw how he was shaking and that made her stop anything else. Without a word she walked to her closet and found a plain white robe for him.
Terry was truly embarrassed as he stood in the bathroom. He was shaking as he hadn't expected the woman to walk in like that, but she did and saw him in his underwear. He wanted to crawl into a hole when she came back in and handed him a large white robe. Terry took the robe and put it on and they both had a reason to laugh. The robe that hit Char at just above her knee almost hit the floor on Terry. They both stood there with a similar look on their faces.
"Your pants are being cleaned, so you'll have to make due,' Char said breaking the silence and the amusement in her voice couldn't be contained.
Terry nodded his head and looked up at her and Char couldn't help the smile on her face. It wasn't mocking, but genuinely amused by what she saw. Terry saw the smile and he actually cracked a smile in return. The two of them stood there for a moment before Char extended her hand to him. Terry took the hand and they walked to the sofa where Char had him sit down. She walked to the table that was close enough and leaned against it. Taking a breath she quickly planned out what she was going to say to him and let it go.
"I don't want to see you go back to that hell hole Terry. I want to help you, but I need you to help me. Will you help me?" she asked softly.
"How?" Terry asked back confused.
"Well for starters I need you to call that lawyer of your fathers. I have a plan to help you get away from that cu...' Char started to say then she saw his eyes and changed gears,' your mother and her husband."
"But they won't let me go. Mom says that she is the only one who can make decisions for my benefit,' Terry said and his eyes began to well up.
Char saw that and shook her head.
"Not necessarily. If I can get in touch with your lawyer then we can do something about that,' Char explained.
"How? She can fight it and win no matter what I try!" Terry exclaimed and his hands came to the side of his head as he slumped in the sofa.
"She hasn't gotten past your codes on your account now has she?" Char asked simply.
"But the lawyer can't do anything about that," Terry retorted.
"He can't, but we can!" Char exclaimed and stalked over to Terry.
He was about to say something when her hands took his from the side of his head and brought them to his lap. His eyes found her orbs and lost himself in them. Char noted the effect she was having and decided to move all in.
"If we say that we are a couple and have him sign a power of attorney then I can get you from that hell hole and here to safety. What happens after that is up to you,' she explained simply.
Terry's eyes snapped back to the here and now as she said that and he had a hopeful look in his eyes.
"We..we..can?" he stammered.
"Yes,' Char said and squeezed his hands.
"I can...stay here?' he asked hopefully.
"For as long as you need until you feel ready to go on your own,' she offered.
In truth Char knew he was going to need help, but she didn't mind helping him as her being screamed at her to do just that. Her apartment was large enough that she could easily let him stay with her for a few weeks or so and get himself sorted. From the trust fund he said he had she could help him set himself up somewhere nice and move on with his life.
"So what do you say?" she asked.
"OK," he whispered and looked down at his feet.
Char stood up and walked to her counter. She picked up her cell and handed it to him. Terry took the phone and dialed the number to the lawyer's office. The phone rang a few times then was answered by a receptionist. Terry asked for his father's lawyer and after a short wait the line came to life.
"Terry, this is Bob Cameron. Are you all right?" Bob asked.
"Y...yes...I'm fine Bob...um I have someone who wants to talk to you," Terry said into the phone.
"If it's your mother than hang up! I don't wish to talk to her,' Bob said forcefully into the phone.
"No!" Terry exclaimed and handed the phone to Char.
"Hello? Terry? Terry answer me," Bob said into the phone thinking Terry was off the phone, but Char was quick to answer him.
"Mr. Cameron?" Char asked into the phone.
"Who is this?" he retorted in a dangerous tone.
"My name is Charmel Clark. I am Terry's friend and need to talk to you if you have a moment sir,' she said in a professional tone.
"About what?" Bob asked with more than a little hostility.
"About getting him away from that bitch and her fucking husband," Char said in the phone not masking her own distaste of Terry's mother and Vonte.
Bob's eyes opened wide on the other end and he stood up. He quickly went to his door and closed it then returned and sat down.
"I think you and I have a similar distaste for his current situation and should look into a way to how to get him out of it; wouldn't you agree?" she asked plainly into the phone.
"I would suppose so, but why should I trust you or even listen to you?' he asked.
"Because I am willing to help him, and not for any financial or proprietary gain," Char said simply.
"Go on," he said.
"Let's meet in public and we can go over the details. I wouldn't want this conversation recorded or anything,' Char said.
"Fine. Let's meet at Session House in an hour,' Bob said into the phone.
"Thirty minutes, come alone and I'll bring Terry,' she explained.
"Of course,' Bob said and hung up.
Char looked to Terry and smiled at him. Terry was lost as to what they were planning. He was really scared and Char saw it. She put her hand on his shoulder and looked him dead in the eyes.
"Let me go get your pants,' she said and stood up.
Terry was quiet as she left and was gone for a few minutes. He looked around the house and was in awe of what was happening. It was so sudden he had no words for it, but he was glad for it deep down. For the first time in a long time he felt safe and secure. But then he thought of meeting Bob and the scary thought of them not being able to help him. His mind swam with thoughts until he heard the door open and saw Char come back in.
Char found him right where she left him and was glad for that. She had his pants on a hanger and handed them to him. Terry picked them up and went to the bathroom to change. Char decided to change and went to her bedroom. She stripped off her blouse and went into her closet. She found a nice skirt and a simple blouse to wear and some good shoes. She walked back out into her bedroom and removed her slacks. The blue lace bra and panties she wore were nice and alluring on her skin. What she didn't know was she unconsciously left the door open and Terry just so happened to walk by the hall.
When Terry's eyes saw her in just her bra and panties they widened like saucers. He was transfixed as the woman slipped up the skirt and secured it. Her subtle motions were perfect to his eyes as she put on the top and buttoned it up. The shoes went on her feet and Terry moved himself away from the door lest she see him and he got in trouble. The only evidence that he saw her was the hard on that was tenting his pants. Terry hurried to the sofa and sat down hoping it would go away before she came back.
Char walked from her bedroom to the living room and saw Terry sitting on the sofa with his head down. Her light steps were not amplified by the clicking of heels as her shoes were flats. Terry didn't hear her approach until he just looked up and saw the shadow of her over him. The towering beauty filled his eyes and left him speechless. The way she leaned over him also filled his eyes with a very lovely image of her full cleavage.
"Terry, we are going to meet your father's lawyer. I need you to tell me everything I need to know about him on the way. Can you do that?" she asked.
Terry was somehow able to tear his eyes off her breasts to look her in the eyes. He hoped she hadn't seen him looking as he nodded his head.
"What do you need to know?" she asked.
"Everything about your trust that I can use to help you with the negotiations I am about to undertake,' she said as she helped him rise.
"I only know the account and some small things,' he said simply.
Terry really didn't know much of it in truth. All he had was what he was told in the will reading and then he only could trust Bob as counsel if things got out of control with it. Terry took a deep breath and recounted all he knew. He told her about the will and the reading. How his mother had gotten her own attorneys to make the will a device meant to torture him. She used the clause that he had to be twenty one to collect a pretense for her to be an executor of it. Then he explained how she and Vonte spent the money.
Char listened intently from the elevator to the car. Down the city streets she absorbed all the information he had and when she found out he was only nineteen that caught her off guard.
"You're only nineteen?" she asked in shock.
"Umm...yeah," he replied.
"Hmm," was all Char could say.
Terry looked down at the floor again and Char sat in silence. She formed all his sentences into grouping thoughts in her mind and sorted out anything she could use to an advantage to get the ball rolling. As the car pulled into the valet parking she sat in her seat and was so lost in thought it took the honking of the horn behind her to make her look up and pull into the valet spot. She got out of the car and took Terry into the bar after getting her ticket.
Inside the bar she took Terry to the dining area. Sitting down she took the menu and ordered a glass of wine for herself and a tea for Terry. Her appetite came back to her and she ordered a quesadilla and chicken tenders. Terry didn't order anything and the two sat and waited for Bob to arrive. As they sat Char sipped her wine and couldn't help but think of what she was doing. Her mind swam in circles as she pondered the gray area she was walking into.
While helping Terry was nothing she was ashamed of, she was worried of the implications of it should things not go as she planned. At worst she could face a serious charge of attempted extortion or wrongful detaining of Terry. As the thoughts filled her mind she didn't see Terry was looking at her face.
Terry was lost in her eyes. While his eyes were a nice brown, hers were a darker shade. They made her face so much lovelier than he could imagine. The simple way they shone as she was thinking entrapped his mind as he gazed deeply in them. His own mind was so lost that he didn't see Bob had approached the both of them.
Bob Cameron was not anything anyone would expect when they looked at him. He was an average sized man of five foot nine. His body was one that showed his many hours of tennis each week. His hair was a thick brown with flecks of gray in it. The biggest thing about him was his features. Bob's mother showed in his facial features as he was a product of a black mother, but his Asian father gave him his hair and eyes. His father died when he was young and his mother did the best she could for him growing up. It was when he was in high school he showed his worth by going to college at seventeen and passing the bar exam when he was twenty three.
Bob had changed his name when he was fifteen to help make things go easier for him. Raizaku was hardly a name people would work with, but Robert was. He changed it to Robert and when he was in law school everyone starting calling him Bob. He used his mother's name as well and made a good life for himself. A married man with three kids Bob was a good man with strong morals.
Bob looked down at the son of his best friend and was relieved he was still in one piece, then his eyes took in Char. They grew wide as the large woman saw him and stood up.
"Robert Cameron. I used to be counsel for Terry's father before he left us,' he said politely.
"Charmel Clark, we spoke on the phone earlier," Char said smiling and took his hand.
The two of them shook hands and Char was impressed he was not intimidated by her at all. The way his eyes bore into hers impressed her. She knew right away he was sizing her up.
"Yes, we did. I seem to recall you wished to help Terry with his troubles,' Bob said as he took a seat after Char.
Char noted he sat next to Terry and put his hand on Terry's shoulder. Terry didn't flinch from it as he knew the man was really one of the few real friends he had. Char was, however, disappointed that he didn't help Terry before it had come to this.
"So we have a simple plan to deal with her. We get Terry away from her and put his trust somewhere that she can't put her filthy hands on it,' Char said matter-of-factly
"You make it sound so simple,' Bob retorted then continued, "That woman has her claws so deep into Terry that it would take the Supreme Court to get them out."
"I doubt that," Char relied.
"The woman has a court order that he is unfit to make decisions for himself from a respected psychologist. What's more she also had her lawyers make her the executor of the estate of Terry's father. Now with that in her corner she can pretty much do anything she wants,' Bob explained.
Char nodded her head and bit into her chicken tender. She chewed it and swallowed it down then a glimmer came to her eye.
"And what of the expenditures of the account?" she asked.
"What about them?" Bob asked.
"Well obviously she isn't supposed to be wasting Terry's rightful money's without his consent am I correct?" she asked.
"She can only spend money to help make the account grow, or for emergency spending only,' he explained.
"And has she?" Char asked with a grin on her face.
"I would have to examine the receipts and purchases of the spent money, but she has shown me it's going to be difficult to prove otherwise," Bob replied.
Char had the biggest grin on her face as she sipped her wine and saw Terry was shaking like he needed to say something. A simple touch of her hand to his fingers made him look up at her. The look in her eyes told him to be out with it.
"She and Vonte...they spent the money on themselves, but tried to invest in his company," Terry said softly.
Bob turned to look at Terry and his eyes were wide.
"Terry why didn't you come to me with this? I could have...' he started to say when Char cut him off with a thud.
Her hand hit the table and he looked at her incredulously as she seemed to grow as her anger was apparent.
"She had the poor man terrified of talking to anyone! The asshole beat him to make him docile then they took liberties to flaunt their willingness to extort him at a whim! It wasn't his fault!" Char said and the venom in her voice made Bob sigh and look down.
Terry felt Char's fingers suddenly do something he hadn't expected, they intertwined with his. The gesture was meant to comfort him, but under it all it was Char making him feel safe. She held his hand as she decided to lay out the plan to Bob.
"Now listen to me. I know you don't like her at all, am I correct in this?" she asked plainly.
"You would be correct," Bob said and his eyes fixed on her face.
"Then let's work together and bring the cunt down,' Char said emphatically.
"How?" Bob asked.
"Draw up a power of attorney for me allowing me the right to help Terry make his own choices with the money. As for him moving out of his mother's house, he is over eighteen and can leave if he so desires. He will move in with me and then we can make sure he is well off when things settle down," Char explained.
"He is of age to move out, but what then? After all this blows over she will have his account information and can try to force him to reopen it to her once he is away,' Bob reasoned.
"I have my ways and know a few people to make sure she doesn't," Char said coolly, an eager gleam in her eye thinking of the bitch trying.
"And what guarantees do I have that you don't want to help just for the money?" Bob asked.
Char heard that and a switch flipped in her mind. The cool exterior slipped and a burning fire came to her. Bob's eyes got wide and he sat back in his chair as her burning eyes bore into him.
"I am not doing this for any reason other than I will not tolerate a bitch and her piece of shit husband terrorizing a young man for their petty fucking greed,' she hissed and Bob nodded.
Terry saw the change in her eyes and it scared him at first, but as soon as the fires burned away her warm eyes came back and found his. The look they shared was one that spoke volumes to Bob.
"Give me forty eight hours to draw up the papers and have them signed off on by a judge. Then you can move him out of the house," Bob said and got to his feet.
He turned and looked to Terry and put his hand on his shoulder and squeezed it gently.
"Your father asked me to help you if I can. Now it seems I can make good on my promise, son," he said and gave Terry a smile.
With that he looked across the table to Char and extended his hand to her. Char gracefully took it and they shook. As soon as it was done Bob turned and left pulling out his cell phone as he departed. Char saw him even stop and pay their bill on the way out. She smiled at that and looked back to Terry.
"You're doing this...for me?" he asked in a whisper.
Char smiled and squeezed his hand then went back to her meal. As she was about to bite down she stopped and handed him a tender. Terry took it and bit down on the chicken and they had a quiet time finishing the appetizers. Silently they finished their meal and tipped the waiter as they left. During the quiet drive back to Char's apartment they had no words except for Char complaining about the traffic that seemed to appear from nowhere. What would have taken ten minutes took nearly twenty.
As they pulled into the building Char parked it in her spot and they walked to the elevator. Looking at the time it was after eight and likely all the clothes stores would be closed. Char decided against taking him for a change of clothes till the morning. As they got into the elevator Char actually stunned Terry by putting her arm around his shoulders and holding him close to her side.
The warmth that radiated off her body made Terry unconsciously lean into her. The sight was actually cute as the tall woman held the smaller man to her. As the door opened the building custodian was greeted to the strange sight, but said nothing as he continued cleaning the floor. Char and Terry walked by him with no words and walked into her apartment.
The night was spent watching movies. Char let him pick the movies and wasn't surprised by the choices he made. From "Avengers" to "The Dark Knight Rises" Char watched the both and was glad to see Terry relax enough that by the end of the last movie his eyes were closed and he was sound asleep. She left him on the sofa and put a sheet over him as he slept and walked to the balcony. She locked it and drew the shades closed. She also put a rod in the door in hopes he would not do anything rash in the middle of the night.
Sleeping soundly on the sofa Terry snoozed away and Char padded to her room. The apartment had three rooms, but only one guestroom as the other was her gym and office. She walked into the room and stopped as she didn't want to wake him if he was fine. Sighing she went to her closet and stripped down. A pair of short shorts and a tank top slipped over her as she walked to the bathroom and washed her face.
