I think Chrissy and I were both staring at Aunt Joan in amazement by now. I was about to ask her what happened next when we suddenly heard the outside door to the kitchen open. It was mom and dad and our grandparents, back from their breakfast at the diner.

I had forgotten to baste the turkey but, even more important, I was disappointed that I'd have to wait to hear the rest of Aunt Joan's story.
