Later that afternoon, Doctor Nall moved Patricia, out of intensive care, to a room where she would be monitored. She did not need any medications; she was getting IV fluids and oxygen. She no longer needed to be in the intensive care unit. Soon they would have to make a decision to put her on a feeding tube, because she was losing weight quickly.

Stephano could not fight William on this, because on her birth certificate, he was her father. He did not want to go to court to stop it, because they both loved Patty, equally. This had to be a joint decision, but William had the high card and his decision was final.

Jemma said, "Stephano, go to our hotel. Get something to eat and get some sleep before you wind up like she is. There is no sense for both of you to be sick, and in the hospital."

"I want to be here if she wakes up."

"If Patty wakes up, I will tell her that you were here for four days straight before we kicked you out to get some rest. Now, leave before I have you escorted out of this hospital."

Stephano left under protest, grabbed a hamburger on the way to the hotel, and fell asleep on his way down to the pillow. His dreams were about Patty, until her mother popped into his head and told him to bring her home.

He said, "I can't, she's sick and in the hospital. I can't chance taking her out of there."

"Stephano, she is not sick. She is hardheaded, and as stubborn as a mule. Bring her to me, and I will straighten her out."

"How am I supposed to get her out of the hospital, without anyone noticing it?"

"You are bright boy, you figure it out."
