Her gaze was focused on the gun when it flew from her hand as Early struck her outstretched arm with a heavy curtain rod. She watched, frozen in shock, as Early picked up the pistol in his gloved hands and with no more expression than if he'd been squashing a snail, fired twice into the wall opposite the front door. Susan pleaded guilty in court. She knew the physical evidence of her fingerprints on the gun, the holes in the wall combined with their neighbor's testimony of her final words would lead to an inevitable ruling. Not to mention, her breaching a restraining order. Maybe, deep down she accepted that by cheating on Early then treating him like shit, she'd really, really fucked up and deserved what she got.
Back in her cell the full impact of Jen's revelations finally sank in. She'd been almost ready to accept her punishment for the cheating and humiliation. Now she knew that the bastard was responsible for the complete destruction of her career, her complete financial ruin and the annihilation of her social standing. Slowly remorse turned to hate and a firm resolve. In nine and a half years that pair had better watch out.
Sleep came very slowly that night in her cell. She looked back on her life of a year ago and her life today. She vowed never to misjudge a mouse ever again.

My apologies if I have commented prior to this read. That being said, while I usually enjoy your work, this one fell a wee bit short of the mark. Change the names, or list it as a separate, new story as this one just fails to jive with the original.

Some folks like an over the top story
I do. When it's done with some humor.
This is just too brutal. BT becomes ATB. Annihilate the bitch. There are a number of flaws i the story; one being that I don't believe Early could pull off all the breaking & entering and arson and get away with it. Some suspension of disbelief is required for most stories in LW but this wa, as mentioned, over the top.
I did think that getting hoohed up & impregnatinfthe Sexytary was a good twist.more...

But really aside from that, I can never get thru a story that is told in a "conversation" so I just skimmed it and probably missed a lot. My fault of course. No one made me read the thing.
A cheap literary trick requiring no skill and imagination, which is a shame because the author is a good writer even if I don't care for the majority of his stories.more...
Ever hear about gunshot residue?
The plot was pretty bad the wife was too stupid to live while the husband made Niccolo Machiavelli look like an amateur. Additionally Susan would never have been convicted of shooting the gun because there would have been no gunshot residue on her hands or clothes.more...
