Pausing to tug on a pair of pajama pants and grab the baseball bat he kept by the bed, Ian headed downstairs, not really daring to hope what he was already hoping.
As he hit the bottom step, he heard a feminine voice muttering about "this damned technology, all I want is to make a cup of coffee!" and stopped dead. He proceeded slowly, the bat hanging more or less forgotten at his side.
Ian stepped into the doorway of the kitchen and just stared. Jennie was standing, wearing a cotton nightgown trimmed with lace and glaring at the coffee maker venomously. "Jennie? How are you still here?"
She looking up, a little guiltily, and gave him a sheepish smile. "I wish I knew. But I guess I'm going to be here a while longer. But look!" She grabbed a coffee cup off of the counter. "I'm still solid! So we can have coffee and . . . talk about what to do now."
He walked over to her and plucked the cup from her fingers, setting it back on the counter. "I know what I want to do now, but . . ." he wrapped an arm around her waist and tugged her close, "we should talk, too." Ian leaned down and kissed her deeply before pulling back. "In a little while, we'll talk."

Lovely!
I really liked this story! The romance and caring was there, and I liked the idea of Jennie observing people having sex so she wasn't completely out of touch with the modern way in the bedroom.
My only disappointment was the references to "starting" or "beginning to" when they were fucking. I don't think each succeeding blissful moment has to be launched with a "her legs started to tremble." Instead, just tell the story: The excitement built within her body causing her legs to tremble, first lightly, then gradually stronger as she reached new heights of arousal.
Otherwise, though. I liked it and was wondering how would the two of them find a way to stay together. Perhaps in receiving his seed a new life was born once again within her! Should you write more about these two love birds -- great! If not, this was a wonderful read!more...

Such a sweet story!
Sweet and tender seems so rare these days and you did a great job of it. I liked that you respected what a young Victorian woman might feel on her wedding night with a man she loved. You even got her underwear right! I'm impressed. Two different worlds meet but the love is just the same. A continuation would be fun but it's good as a stand alone piece too.more...
