Click hereShe carried on for a minute, but I was thankful that her kid was there. I could tell she was tempering her language for his sake. Still, the venom in her voice could not be hidden.
No amount of apologizing would calm her. I guess telling someone that you're sorry for almost mowing her and her child down with two tons of steel does seem a bit insignificant.
We parted ways and I drove somewhere (cautiously) to park. I wasn't in any condition to drive. My nerves were all over the place. My mind was a jumbled mess, filled with intertwining thoughts of pain, revenge, rage, and betrayal.
I wasn't myself. I was someone else. I'm normally a logical person. Always prepared, always with a plan. Not this guy. Running to that asshole's house, calling him out like bully on the playground afterschool. That wasn't me.
I needed to get my head on straight. It was time to accept the facts. My marriage was over. Caput. There was no saving us. No hope for redemption. It was time for me to pull the trigger. Take it out of her hands, and put the ball back into my court. I was done.
I fished the intricately designed card out of my wallet. The address to his office, his phone number, and a brief quote was superimposed over a picture of a stern looking Terry. He looked every bit the bulldog that he was.
After I punched his number into my phone, I waited for an answer. The pleasant sounding secretary greeted me, letting me know that I'd reached Terrance Ross' office. Once she put me through to him, I only said one thing.
"Send me the fucking Marine."
END OF CHAPTER ONE
Cameo Character:
Terrence "Terry" Ross from "Selfish Spouse"
An affair with his job? Really? Sorry that's bullshit. Yeah, he works too much. She could have talked to him about it, and if no change happened divorced him before she started up with some other guy... Especially his friend.
To the anon who said that the MC got everything he gets because of his job, is wrong. NO ONE deserves to be cheated on. NO ONE deserves to be disrespected, lied to, or humiliated. There is no excuse for cheating.
Loved the story. Loved the choice of the seal or the marine and their definitions. Send me the marine. Hah. Nice. Thanks.
I could feel his anger and pain, it just jumped off the page, excellent work⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Why the hell would he want to stay married to the slut? I almost abandoned the story in this chapter
