In This Country Act 01 Ch. 03

"Then why didn't you report in the crime to the Commander?" Hyper inquired.

"My earpiece fell out," Crystal answered quickly.

"Your earpiece fell out?" Hyper laughed. "That sucker wouldn't budge if Asphalt knocked you on your ass!"

"It did," Crystal insisted.

"Then how did it fall out?" Hyper tested, not believing the story one bit.

"The wind was blowing and my hair was in my face," Crystal explained. "So when I was moving it out of the way, my earpiece fell out."

"That's believable," Hyper admitted, knowing it's happened to her quite a few times. "Then, after you beat the criminals, who I don't think you fought, and after you got your earpiece, which I don't think you dropped, why didn't you report the crime in to the Commander?"

"I forgot," Crystal looked away, knowing Hyper had broken through her defensive barriers.

"You forgot!" Hyper laughed again. "The last time that happened was when Jasper left out that he saved a girl from a bunch of spineless thugs and you frosted his ass!"

"Okay, okay," Crystal gave in. "I won't let it happen again."

"Sure, sure," Hyper snickered. "Are you hungry?"

"Yeah, a little," Crystal replied, not having anything to eat since the morning.

"Here," Hyper offered, placing a bag of hot food in front of her.

"What's this?" Crystal asked, opening the bag.

"Lunch from Weydon," Hyper smirked.

And there it was; Crystal knew she had been caught. The longer she stared like a deer caught in headlights, the bigger Hyper's smile grew. As a matter of fact, she even started making kissing noises as Crystal hid behind her hands and ran to her bedroom.

"You can't escape from me!" Hyper yelled, stopping the door from closing and tackling Crystal on her own bed. "Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!"

"No, just let me die in shame!" Crystal said, hiding her face in the blankets.

"You can die after you tell me," Hyper replied.

"It's too embarrassing!" Crystal shook her head.

"I'll get Cherry," Hyper threatened.

"You wouldn't," Crystal gasped.

"It's either me or her," Hyper grinned like a shark.

"Okay, fine I'll tell you," Crystal gave in, pushing Hyper off her.

"And don't leave nothing out," Hyper declared.

*****Hey dearest readers, this is the end of the third chapter. I know, I know, where's the good stuff? It's coming, I promise. I just wanted to give Crystal a sense of uncertainty, at least, so that she doesn't appear "too easy". Also, I want to apologize for my hiatus. Life and laziness has been kicking my ass (save me!) so I had to take a break for a while. The good news is that during that time period, I was able to refine and add more futuristic plots to extend the ITC series. I'm going to keep it a secret, but I will let you know that come the upcoming chapters, things will start to get "frosty" between our two lovebirds.
