When Lena walked in, she fell into his arms and they held each other for a solid two minutes. An oven timer beeping broke the silence, so Brad poured her a glass of wine and went to tend to the meal.

Over dessert, Brad said, "Can I ask you something? What if Carla hadn't come to town? And even if she did, what if she didn't decide to come after me or Mariel's neighbor? She'd still be out there, wouldn't she?"

Lena took another bite of key lime pie (which she whipped up as thanks for Brad's dinner) and thought about it for a moment. She began, "I told Mariel that there are currents and rhythms to magic. Mariel became our housekeeper a few years ago. She had no idea that she came from a long line of witches, and she ended up working for a witch. The way we discovered her ability was horrible," referring to Mariel's ordeal, "but we discovered it. I'd like to believe, though, that even without Mariel's suffering, we would have discovered it. For some purpose, magic guided our paths until they crossed."

"Makes sense," Brad replied with a mouthful of pie.

"So," she continued, "it might also make sense that when someone was on the loose misusing their power and hurting innocent people, magic would somehow ensure that our paths would cross. As I explained to Mariel, we are as much a tool of magic to do good, as magic is a tool of ours. Magic needed Carla to be stopped so she was guided into our path."

"And you two handed it beautifully." Brad munched another bite of pie. "It does make you wonder, though."

"What?"

"Are you and Mariel the only witches who could have stopped her. Are there other witches out there? Or were you two the only game in town, so to speak?"

Lena looked down wistfully. "I've often wondered that. Mariel is the only other witch I've ever met, apart from my mother. Maybe I'll meet another someday. Maybe not."

"Well, I for one am glad I met you. I would not have wanted to live out my days as a stripper!"

"Oh, I dunno, hon." Lena got up and slinked over to Brad, depositing herself in his lap. "I thought you looked kind of sexy."

Brad gently grabbed one of Lena's breasts. "I don't know how you guys carry these around all day. Twenty minutes and my back was aching."

'Well, yours were unusually large."

"I guess."

Lena kissed Brad, pushing her breast harder into his hand. He softly massaged the soft flesh and Lena moaned. "I'll clean up the dishes. Go wait for me in the bedroom."

"Don't have to ask me twice!" Brad shoveled one last bite of pie into his mouth and Lena set about clearing the table.

Two minutes later, Brad had brushed his teeth and was waiting in the bedroom in just his boxers. The house went completely dark except for two beams of light shining across the bedroom doorway. A very tall, very leggy, very well-endowed woman, with a mountain of teased red hair, matching red lips and nails, and a silver g-string bikini stepped into the light.

"Too soon?" Lena purred.

It wasn't.

The End

Author's Note: time allowing, I hope to write additional stories including Lena, Brad and Mariel. Fun ideas for who they meet, where they go, and what they do will be gratefully accepted.
