This story is set in San Diego and has locations that have analogs to real places. Obviously none of the places are real. People familiar with San Diego bay and areas might recognize some locations. There are some completely fabricated locations that serve as base of operations to our characters.
Estate - The Jackson family mansion. A remodeled resort that built into the cliffs of the coast to the north of the city. It's gated and is hardly discernible from the roads nearby. It houses the large polyamorous family, serves as a base of operations for JACKL Inc., and has many guest rooms. It has access to the ocean, and a large infinity pool and hot tub on its rooftop floors.
Enclave - A hidden fae base in the park. The park itself is a well known location to the human population, but the fae influence in and around the park is strong. They have used the Enclave as a base of operations for years. In the present it is the base of research for JACKL, and serves as a recovery ward for newly reborn fae.
Fairview Apartments - owned by JACKL, it is an apartment building on the west end of downtown. It has a rooftop pool, and other amenities. It's inhabitants are a mix of fae, fae friendly human allies, and humans that may be friendly to the fae.
Venue - A building near downtown with a rooftop space owned by JACKL inc., is being considered as a special event location for humans and fae to coexist peacefully. This is a nascent project with Rick and Kelly as designers. It may never happen, but it's always possible.

I don’t want to niggle, the earlier incarnation of JACKL was formed in Oregon as the holding company for the family’s BnBs. Also on The Designer Pt.03 Ch. 05 the business was sold to a Silicon Valley company.
This does start a new iteration of JACKL Inc., maybe re-formed is a better word, in San Diego.

In the Synopsis above for Part 3: “ As they start to discover how this larger family operates, they are visited by a enigmatic character, Naeme. Naeme an ancient tree nymph fae can sense the true natures of the family. Telling them of their true fae nature, which challenges their knowledge of themselves.”
HankDolworth9 months agoAuthorThanks for your comment. Part 3 of The Designer series clears up this story point for Kelly and Alyssa. The later part of part 2 they found out the “angel” halfling story was possibly made up. Part 3 introduces a new character that positively identifies them as Fae creatures. JACKL Inc will help clarify as well.
(This is one of the places where I need to do some retroactive continuity fixes - so sharp eyes in seeing the details.)
Anonymous9 months agoI am unclear as to what Alyssa and Kelly really are. From the Designer stories, they sound like Halflings, the offspring of a Fae and a human. But in this synopsis you have them listed as Fae
