It was merely a stating of affairs from a different point of view and lacked the emotions, the expansive backstory, the real human connection and the usual charisma of your sorties. To be honest it felt more like copy-paste of J&J Ch. 10 with a few small editions that didn't bring much to the whole story.
What it did establish is that J&J now have a new set of friends that seems to fit well into their lives and a legal marriage.
One more observation - you said that the boy has a half-sister so I assume you plan on making them part of the future story where they grow up close to each other like Amy and J&J did, and not hide the fact that Jake is the father. It's a rather nice idea so I hope you invest some thought into that.
As much as wanted I couldn't give you more than 4*, the disappointment was imply too big.
