"Me too Lola!" Joey was so pumped about his job offer that he didn't even notice how haggard Lola looked.
He seemed very excited, so Lola let him continue. She didn't want to spoil his moment. That was going to come soon enough. "Go ahead, Joey."
"Laura offered me a full-time IT position at mom's office! Get ready for this! My starting salary is going to be $40,000 per year and then $50,000 after a three-month probationary period. It will go up further if I take some courses and finish my degree which I'm going to do with night courses over several years. We don't have to worry about money anymore! You could even quit your retail job if you wanted and focus full time on school. Isn't that great?"
Joey watched as a small quiver rippled through Lola's lower lip and then her left lower lip buckled. Then the right side buckled. A single tear pooled under her left eye and slowly meandered down her cheek. Then a pool of tears formed in both eyes and a steady trickle cascaded down her face. She put her head on Joey's chest and started to sob.
"Lola?"

Wow, things are falling into place a lot faster and a lot better than I hoped they would. The only thing I wasn't expecting as the kids planing for Susan to go out and date to find a new love, instead new (or should I say old but overlooked?) found her and it obviously worked for her (at least for now). Keeping fingers crossed it goes well in the long run and that she found the fated love of her life to be happy for the rest of the future.
As for Lola & Joey - they happiness might be a bit strange in form but nonetheless I'm convinced that the baby(s) will bring joy to them no matter what, with his job and future planed out there is at least social and financial stability at hand. Now all that remains is to come out to their mom and see how that plays out, hopefully they all make it out alive and happy for each other.
Just one small remark - a large portion of dialogue in this chapter was in fact monologues from either females POV, seem like Joey was put to the side for now were you just trying a new approach to setting a scene and sexy time?
Anyhow, i gave it a more than well deserved 5*!
Hopefully the next Chapter comes soon because I can't wait!!!more...
