Longwood Fifth Hunt

"Doc has a rod on his table, cuffed the boy to the table so he can't do more than stand up. Got a bucket if he needs though doc said he can keep him sedated for a spell." Look over at Dan.

"Sedated means passed out like drunk. Usually when a doc does that it's to make it easier on a fella to die."

"According to doc it can go either way though probably will die."

This no good speak on so no wish continue then vittles arrive so great timing. Spend a bit to get vittles ready on account have roast with gravy, mashed taters and a big old mess of peas. To go with that there are three biscuits that am buttering. Biscuits are good so eat one slice right away then help Dan with on account Balik is wishing more apple sauce.

Fall to on the vittles after Dan all set on have until get kick. Dan want make cut his roast so shoot some eye dagger then cut up his roast. Course am making Dan feed Balik now, when was still only feed Balik Dan cut up meat for. Reckon on proper to do the same back, still no want, am hungry and vittles are here.

After finish off vittles take Balik back to room and then play with some to get tired. Know is later and Dan said roll later, am all eager for roll. May no need to whore, but still need husband buried where belong and perhaps will put daughter within. Reckon on happy with another son, would like daughter though is up to great spirit on have daughter or no.

Balik finally droop so get in crib and watch him drift off, course also sing to him. He no like get put in crib when ready for sleep so need sing to him. He like sing so forget about put in crib and remember ready for sleep so drift off. End up held by Dan at end so when Balik drift off we watch for spell to make sure then Dan carry to bed.

No get to roll right away, do get out of cloth course but Dan pull under covers. Cuddle up with my husband and sigh since feel good. Want roll but just being held is perfectly fine. Reckon no more broke now, just like roll so look for often as can.

"You are going to make me read novels to him aren't you?" Look up at Dan and grin.

"Soon as he know round eye two novels a day." Get look at for a spell then Dan grab nose and shake.

"That was mean Janet." Giggle some then look up at Dan.

"Less mean than no roll when ready for babe."

"It's not easy for me either. Asides that been thinking on, after tonight we are on the train again, then riding for the hide town. Don't reckon on getting any rolls after tonight." No sure on what Dan mean so look up at him with needy eye.

Dan snort then we are rolling over so moan on account know what come next. Course Dan all fired ready to handle my equipment some and am all fired ready to get him where he belong. Win on account wrap legs around Dan so he no get to handle. Dan chuckle bit then moves around bit to get in right spot then slide right on in.

Am ready for so welcome my husband in with a moan. Then we are moving and all is right in land. Have husband buried where belong, am ready for babe, and we are trying for. Find stars right quick so roll get better. Dan decide to be eager to reach finish on account he speed up so he is moving fast and rather hard.

No complain on keep stars there for longer and am left little boneless. No find gumption to do much aside leave legs wrapped around Dan while he move fast. Am getting churned up something fierce so find stars again. Dan get hand to breasts so stars stay long this time as well, honest lose all gumption, leg fall off Dan, no move with.

Just lie under Dan and moan little while he move on top. Hands do nice thing to breasts so feel stars come soon. Course Dan decide he should finish so grunt then am getting warmth. Least the warmth sent stars crashing on and find gumption move again. So happy with roll, fast and hard roll again like used and perhaps mean have daughter within now.

Take a bit then Dan no longer ready so roll off and just follow him. Curl up against husband best can, still little boneless so am all happy.

"Janet is there a reason you are shivering?" Look up at Dan and grin.

"Have daughter within." Dan snort and shake head.

"We can't know that until bleeding time." Sigh and hit Dan.

"No argue with wife Dan." Dan snort and chuckle then am giggle with for a spell afore we settle down to get some sleep.

Wake up next day still late though no care, no make vittles here. Lie there for a bit thinking this is nice then notice Balik is work on stand up so poke Dan. We both watch Balik work on stand then go get him out of crib. Dan hold hands and set on floor so Balik manage take step then try and fall. He is close but no ready yet, also no want milk.

This is something of a darn on account breasts are aching. Least Dan empty little so no much ache, still ache but good on account Balik mostly done with milk. Mean no need make milk, at least until have another babe. Once ready we head for eatery and get Balik in high chair then Dan go away, take longer on this day so odd, then come back holding jar of apple sauce along with bowl.

"Dan what jar for?" Dan and Benjamin snort.

"The jar is to keep Balik fed for two or three days. Can give him mashed tater once we are riding along but until then need a stockpile." Sigh and lean on Dan.

"Dan make good wife." Benjamin snorts and is laughing, Dan is laugh with though swat on head.

"Janet swore last night she has a daughter within now." Benjamin chuckles some.

"She is glowing a bit, so either she is right or you gave her a good roll." Beam up at Dan who look little surprise then shrug.

"No telling if she is right or not. Couple weeks for bleeding time." Benjamin turn green.

"Most call that her monthly."

"Janet is peculiar sometimes. Will give me a roll most anywhere in Longwood, but doesn't want anyone talking about it. She will even parade around with naught on, doesn't matter where."

"In tribe injun child wear naught in summer. Gal get dress when of age for bleeding time. Go about in naught is no big thing, hear folk talk of roll that did is." Benjamin shrugs.

"I don't like talking about the rolls I've had, but also do on account have had rolls and nice to think about." Sigh and kick both fellas at table with.

Dan and Benjamin start talk about what want in deputy. Is no fun talk but then vittles come so fall to on vittles. Have good vittles on this day, get hash browns, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and biscuits. All quite tasty as well so is a right proper send off to the train. Dan and Benjamin talk long while so get to just sit and enjoy vittles.

Perhaps am weird but honest prefer no speak much. What seem proper is go about what do, or what been told do. Speak is only needed if get help or is part of what do. Dan like talk though, as he say is how grew up, always speak while do farm. No see how stand, but then raised different so perhaps is simply matter of different from what know on how thing work.

Once we finish vittles we go back to hotel to pack and wait for train. When train finally come we collect horse and head for train. Course feed both licorice on account been good. Once Dan has joined on train am handed his future book. Get little lost in the novel, eat lunch while read still so no proper.

Such a good read don't mind Balik much. Balik no seem mind, Dan mind on Balik and then feeds him as well. Next thing know am being made curl up on Dan to sleep. Is dark out so was lost in book. Course go back in book after breakfast, and feed Balik some milk. Am happy for this on account breast ache go away.

Next thing know am being bid collect everything. Surprise a bit on but reckon just been reading the novel and no pay attention like when paint some. Step off train get to look about and find the town is small, look to have two street like Longwood after get train. Also have sheriff stand right there, Dan direct toward him so get to look him over little.

He is tall Dan would reckon, rather broad shoulder though look a bit like no eat much. He look perfectly fine just thin is the term would reckon. No mustache like Dan though has long sideburns, almost beard. Odd look to a fella though nice enough would reckon, though no look for roll.

"Are you two after someone?" Dan shake head.

"We are after some buffalo to paint. Janet wants to paint one before they are all dead." Sheriff shake his head.

"Not likely that will happen while we are alive, thousands of the things in this area alone." Sigh and shake head.

"Buffalo use found across land, Cherokee hunt some. Now have go on train to find this side of big river." Sheriff look at for moment then Dan snort.

"Janet means the Mississippi, has a point too, before the transcontinental went through there were more buffalo. Not sure all of the buffalo will be shot, though there are lot less." Sheriff nod then shrug.

"According to the hunters that go on through we won't run out afore we are all buried. Course I don't think any of them have thought about how far they were brought down. So if you two are not after anyone, can I borrow one of you two?" Look at Dan, he look back then chuckle.

"Go on Janet help the sheriff out, I'll pick up supplies." Sigh on account was not sure wanted to do, still Dan say so may as well.

Sheriff not look quite so enthused for moment, until look down at belt. Suppose good that Dan is carry Balik. Split up with sheriff, his idea and asides just watch out he no say anything on danger of town. Reckon on same as the last, have a few fellas who like to be bandits. Give Dan some eye dagger then take off in different direction from sheriff.

Course still hold Winchester, but did put everything else on Dan so am liking this. At first no problem, no dart look at walkway. Is gap between building so do need look then hear talking so quiet as can move down gap. Stop to look behind building and see a few fella stand there speak on things so stay small and listen.

"Alright, so we are all agreed, soon as the sheriff goes back in his office we will rob the store."

"Why are we not robbing the bank?"

"Because the bank is not used that often, we will get more monies out of the store."

"What if the clerk isn't moving fast to hand us monies?"

"Then we are shooting him and going through the drawers."

Suppose have heard enough so step out from behind building while loading up Winchester. Clicks get their attention though nobody move so reckon may as well speak on thing. Perhaps no shoot and they all give up.

"Reach for the skies, you fellas no rob today."

"Just one gal with a Winchester."

One is speak as pull pistol from holster. Aim on and shoot then reload to point back at rest. Shot fella is fall getting two look at, third and fourth fella are reaching for pistol so shoot one. Other is start aim on so no shoot, drop Winchester and roll away as he shoot at where was. Come up with Colt's in hand to shoot him twice.

Last two fella are reach for pistol now so shoot them both twice. Two target hard so first shoot on both is same time almost, second shot take time to aim. Course both hit twice so reckon on good at two target, still make sure. With all down now walk toward to make sure on, perhaps no all dead so best get pistol away.

Get up to first one on ground and get pistol that no make out of holster. Grab out this pistol and toss behind then move toward next fella. First fella is groan and breath, second eye glazed over so sure dead. Take his pistol and toss toward first, move toward third fella when fast step between building so turn to point at.

Sheriff come through gap and see so stop and put hand out so no grab for pistol. Stop point at and finish go for third to toss pistol. Sheriff come and go far fella to get pistol and put in pocket. Go for fourth fella and get out pistol though he also is glazed eye so two dead out of five. Sheriff then pull me away from the fella to talk at.

"What were they doing?"

"Hear back here, came look on sly. Talk on rob store, hear little then step out to call for give up. One go for pistol, shoot, two more go so shoot then roll shoot other. Last two go pistol shoot."

"How many cleared their leather?" Think back on.

"Four, first fella there no clear." Back door of the building open with fella stand there.

"Sheriff I heard her, said clear as day 'Reach for the skies, you fellas no rob today'." Sheriff look at me and snort.

"Not the fellas I needed help with, but reckon on they will clear out for a spell. Go on to the store. Frank could you get doc if'n he isn't coming already?" Fella at door nod then shut door.

"You sure?" Sheriff nod.

"I'll sign the report for you, oh and the store is on the far street just get back on the walkway and keep going, reckon on your horses are in front of it."

Nod then head for gap between building. Older fella carrying medical bag back up two step to get out of way. Odd though no unwelcome, there no much space between building, no sure why even have. Doc pat on shoulder and smile at then go down gap, small number of folk are standing around, would reckon are waiting on call to help lug the shot fellas.

They pay no mind to so return the no mind and head for store. As sheriff say is other street so just walk straight and cross street. Store here is good size so when go in just look around at all the things. Seem is good that do, there are new Colt. Not quite new but these Colt are silvered instead of shiny black that have.

Find these are nice so squeak and bounce until Dan and store man come over. Dan look at pistol for moment then sigh and swat on head.

"Janet you have two fancy Colt already." Look at Dan and frown.

"Not as nice as these silver ones." Store man is chuckling then drops book on counter.

"Colt is offering to do inlaid, they are expensive but supposed to be top men doing it." There is drawing and is beautiful so look at Dan, he swat on head then look with.

"Quite nice, just we will not be here long enough to collect them here. Janet we will order you the inlaid Colt in Longwood." Just look at Dan, he look back after moment and shakes his head. "I don't want to buy you these and then order the inlaid."

"Trade in these?" Dan shoot some eye dagger and shake head.

"No, we will keep those just in case." Store man is look at Dan, am look at Dan.

"In case of what?" Store man ask first.

"Janet decides the black is better." Sigh and kick Dan then exit store.

Dan come out soon after to put saddlebag on pinto. He go back in and bring out saddlebag for white horse then we are joining saddlebag atop horse. Dan no say anything at first so get to look around as we go. Town is just same as any other so no pay mind, past town though is nice. Course just like Longwood is mostly grass and bushes.

Then need pull up on pinto on account spotted something no see often. Lynx hunkered down getting ready to pounce on coney. Point out to Dan as pull out canvas and get charcoal stick. When all set am happy to find lynx has raised little, means all set to pounce on account coney get far enough away from hole.

Sketch furiously for bit, almost no notice when lynx do pounce. Get squeal of coney then crunch and tear of muscle as lynx grab up coney and shake to end. Course coney no get tear up right there, lynx carry off with little trot, head high.

"Why did the lynx carry the coney off?" Look over at Dan and grin.

"Lynx has kittens, reckon on get ready to eat meat, be out hunting soon."

"You are not making Balik hunt." Roll eye then lean over to swat Dan.

"Lynx kitten is deadly to small in three moon, Balik reckon on no deadly for years." Dan look down at Balik and sigh.

"Honestly, I think I'd rather Balik does something safe, like cook or banker."

"Balik decide when old enough." Dan shoot some eye dagger so giggle. "Course reckon would prefer Balik life enough to have babe of own, no easy do."

Sketch some more then realize have plenty space so sketch triumphant lynx walk away with coney. Show Dan to get smile so smile then put canvas back in bag careful like to not mess up sketch. We then get going on account sooner reach hide town sooner get guide and see buffalo. Not that make it to hide town, is far way from town we get off train at.

When stop for night Balik no like stay in carry for rub down horse. Still stay on account the snake around are not only bad for bug. The worst is found in river but still have dangerous snake where we are. Well perhaps, there no tell if any snake about asides horse get upset. Horse only notice snake when they come near though so best to leave Balik where is for spell.

Look at what have for vittles and smile on account Dan got steak. No much but enough for us two. Go with have taters, and onion. Squeak in joy when find cans of peas, know how make split pea. No that will make tonight, tonight open up can of pea to heat near fire. Dan help a little, make sure Balik stay in camp and no find snake.

Balik have plenty energy still on account sun no quite down and then been held much of day. To help with Balik sleep Dan keep him active. Course am kept busy on account of doing campfire cook dance. Putting pan over fire every little to keep hot, turning cut up tater so cook good and mind steak so no black one side.

Get little lucky on steak as well, Dan got small steak so both fit in pan together. When steak done good enough move pea can close fire to heat up proper and get going on onion. Then notice Dan scoot closer so shoot some eye dagger until he point, Balik is asleep in basket and night is here. Everything get on plate then scoot on over to Dan with our plates.

Quite good vittles so we just sit and eat for a spell. Finish off vittles and spend a little while clean up after then head for bedroll. Get out of cloth and under sheet with Dan, then pull up blanket on account is still not warm at night. Reckon on not warm at night here ever but cool enough we want blanket, course also no roll.

Wake in morning and head for fire circle, no seem point in hunt on this morning. Perhaps will just make up split sea soup. Depends greatly on if make to hide camp on this day, course if no have meat left as well. Still for vittles can make pancake and egg, with bacon on account have a big hunk of bacon.

Only put on pants and belt, just in case Balik want milk. If Balik no want Dan better, breasts are aching so a little pressure off would be nice. Not that Dan wake for a spell, am finishing up the cooking of vittles when Balik and Dan decide to join at fire. Balik does want some milk so happily help him with that.

"Why are you not wearing the shirt?"

"No like?" Dan sighs.

"Do like, have Balik right here and feels a bit wrong to go to my wife with him right there." Snort and giggle.

"Dan idea get roll on table with family right there." Dan reaches over and swat on head.

"We never did that, I sample you on the table when we are there alone." Smile at Dan on account enjoy the sampling on the table.

"Is fun do, is apple sauce heat or like that?" Balik has decided he no want milk any longer, went over to Dan.

"Just the way it is, so no hunt today?" Shake head then help Dan get apple sauce jar open.

"Either make to hide town or have split pea soup."

"No hock to put in though." Grin and wink at Dan.

"Bacon work, like chili, cut small."

"Alright, so are we soaking the peas with the bacon then?" Shake head.

"Empty two can in pot, press flat then add bacon and put on fire, cook for a spell."

Dan looks a bit unsure on that one though learn how make from Isaac. He had make afore for supper, was good vittles so believe is right recipe. Still no sure is proper recipe for split pea soup, also no have other so is what will do if need. Course then recall Balik will eat so will do on account do need, at least to feed Balik.

Vittles done and camp cleaned up we get on horse and get under way, Dan again carrying Balik. Balik seem enjoy and Dan is trying to teach Balik how to say pa. Balik understand how say, just no seem follow mean, call most everything pa. Quite funny to listen to and watch so almost no notice the group of bandits in forest ahead.
