Longwood Fifth Hunt

Is not so late in day so perhaps can work on paint. Course then notice left paint way over there, at least until gal grabs it up and brings it to me. Smile big at this, she is smile as well so set up stand then collect paint to fix up. She stay here so is rather nice on account she can mind Balik if get lost in paint.

"Wish know round eye vittle you cook." Look over at her and smile.

"Do you wish to know all of or what was made?" She ponder on moment.

"Can teach all?" Shake head.

"No time, if read there are cookbook. No cost much, have most of round eye vittle."

"No read." Nod and ponder on moment.

"Go eatery in town and talk cook. If help most teach." She nod then frown.

"No shoot or force?"

"May, round eye have loving god that is ignore most time."

"Wish learn, just no trust." Nod then smile on thought.

"If no mind Apache return with, they get round eye kitchen and know how cook." She look little unsure on that.

"Apache no force?" Shake head.

"Some may try bond, no force. Am there and all scare." This get smile out of her.

"Need ask, when go?"

"Tomorrow maybe." She smile then tear on out of camp to get to the Sioux still work on cut up buffalo.

Pay no more mind on and focus on paint. Am do the hard part, paint in background of on account did not precisely sketch that. Pause to feed Balik, he want split pea soup so dole some into bowl and feed. He like so am happy, also happy he is having regular vittles on account is getting close to able to walk and would feed him regular then.

Dan and Ralph come back finally with eager for licorice pinto. He no come at, instead heads for where licorice is store in bag. Swat on nose then hand up licorice to pinto. Also go hand out to rest of horse while they get rub down. Rub down pinto then and follow Dan and Ralph to paint.

"Do you think we can get out of here now?" Shake head make Dan frown.

"Sioux gal want come, learn round eye vittles from Apache." Dan sigh and swat.

"Just one?" No sure so shrug.

"One gal ask, Sioux sound like Apache so perhaps get few gal to bond."

"If'n they want a fella why not come to the hide town?" Look up at Ralph to shake head.

"No trust round eye, gal want know all round eye vittle so suggest go town to learn from cook. She ask if no shoot or force. Since can happen suggest Apache."

"I'd like to say better chance of not but injun are not always looked on as legal."

"Second time kill fella was after he kilt not Apache was use meet need. Sheriff say injun no cover in law so no crime, am injun so still no cover in law. Did need leave town after, met Dan cause of so all right in land." Ralph just look at moment then look at Dan.

"Why was she asked out of town?" Dan sigh.

"Janet used a knife on this fella, dangled his equipment above him as he died. Honest Janet is the last person a fella wants to make upset, likes to shoot man vittles." Ralph put leg together, make giggle.

"No do, just mention often on account fella always scare."

"Like that big knife." Smile and nod.

"I am surprised it came out of the sheath, I've never seen it come out after David made it."

"Work better hang on belt. All round eye know injun like take part of fella." Dan sigh and look up.

"Since we are staying here a certain wife is hunting."

"No bring meat?" Dan and Ralph shake head.

"Figured on we would head for the train. Three paintings is a good number and the buffalo left."

Giggle and point to buffalo, they only went a mile or two. Reckon on may as well go hunt now, the coney will be move about again since horse no move much now. Collect Winchester and make sure have bullet for then walk off to hunt. Head for forest on account if have few gal join for supper and morning vittles will need plenty of meat.

Not that get to forest, find a coney so urge out of bush then shoot. Spend a bit hunter cutting then string off belt with twine. Glad to have left the twine on hat on account find another coney. Shoot this one then hunter cut and suspend on belt. Keep head for forest, reckon on sell what no need if can get deer.

Find good spot and hunker down to wait. Luck find wind is come from deeper in forest so deer will come this way if about. Shadow start get long and deer do come so aim in on singing in praise of great spirit and deer. Deer is quite large with big horn so beautiful look and is great mark to find to shoot.

Course deer no want make easy, stop behind bush and head drop so no good spot shoot visible. At least until whistle, head pop up and look at so shoot and deer fall over. Shoot head of deer so no pain, still move quick like to where fall and find no breath so good aim. Hunter cut quick like, then well reckon on may as well lug whole thing so do just that.

Hard do though on account deer heavy. Stagger for a good long spell afore Dan come run over to take deer off. Also grab Dan hand on account of tire, no sure can manage walk back with deer or no.

"Am old Dan." Dan snort and shake head.

"You are not old, this deer weighs upward of three hundred. I'm not sure I'll get it back." Giggle a bit on account camp is no more half mile to go now.

"Surprise no make Ralph come."

"Ralph is old."

Snort and giggle, Dan is chuckle rest of way back. Ralph take offense to old, he is refined so laugh as skin and cut up coney. Decide on make hash brown, coney meat, and onion tortilla wrap. No cook yet, Sioux gal are come to camp, see come so hold off on actual cook, still cut up coney. Am cut tater small when gal arrive.

Get a whole five gal so happily teach cut up tater and what do with. Leave them to cook the meat and tater while skin and cut meat off deer. Treat the skin of all three animal as well, no make deer moccasin often, deer skin do work well for warm wrap. Reckon can carry with bedroll for winter hunt to help coat keep warm while in bedroll.

Once get deer meat wrap and in bag check on meat and hash brown then cut up onion and toss in. Then spend a bit teach tortilla and make sure is cook right. Is nice all gal want do so only need show how then watch.

"Why did we only get five gals?" Look over at Dan and roll eye.

"No all want go reservation be Apache." One of the gal look up and smile.

"Am go to learn round eye vittles, if bond will make man come back. Easy find thing round eye use for vittle, best if learn how do."

"Reservation good, get meat from cavalry, town right there." Dan reach over and swat.

"Janet you are not going to convince them to stay if they don't want." Sigh then swat Dan back.

"Dan if no marry you would rather stay at reservation with Apache, is good. Cherokee reservation no as good."

"Remember Bia went there, she knows how to farm so they learned and are making farms."

"Dan, chief told, Cherokee only agree to trade gals on account of there. Teaching on Apache is still told to young, no send Apache, no get Cherokee. Just get injun gal look for tribe."

"Why no like Apache?" Look over at gal and shrug.

"No told why, just told no let Apache touch, if no help get kill and take many can with. Against teach of Cherokee do but still taught do when come to Apache. Cherokee no take Apache gal even if take tribe."

"I thought the Cherokee were peaceful." Look at Ralph and smile.

"Cherokee know fight, no look but when come Cherokee end. Reason nation here is cause ask Cherokee for help. Nation then make all Cherokee move to make room for round eye. Round eye have loving god only listen to when want, same with leader but aside few round eye good folk. So Cherokee allow life." Dan just look at spell then sigh.

"Janet do stop there, you always get upset when you talk about that." Ralph sigh then look at Dan.

"What does she mean?"

"She mean if injun decide to they will sweep the land of us white folk. Sometimes I think it can't happen, but then she get upset and there is a slaughter. So far the slaughter is always of bandits, if she ever decides on congress being bandits I don't think we will have congress any longer." Ralph snort and shake head.

"Honestly of late I think we should call for a bounty on congress. They have been doing odd things."

Dan shake head when look at so sigh then get to work on fill plate with tortilla wrap. Gal have fun with do wrap so we done quick like. When done up enough take two plate over to Dan and sit with. Just sit and enjoy the vittles for a spell, Dan put arm around after short spell on account Balik decide want lie down.

All is right in land, no need do slaughter, no hunt, husband has put arm around. Feel like right proper wife and is all want out of life. Course also have new babe within, no sure on but have feeling and feeling no wrong yet. Look up at Dan and beam, get sigh out of Dan then swat on nose.

"Janet you gave away my Winchester, basically demanded silver pistols and need to buy train tickets for five gals. Whatever it is we are not buying it." Whole camp is giggle for a spell.

"No want buy, am with child again, have feeling."

"Not arguing, just saying let's wait for your bleeding time. That way it is for sure and not maybe wishful thinking." Sigh then swat Dan.

"No wish, am with."

Dan sigh then kiss afore going back to vittles. Join Dan in that, is good vittles, seem all agree on account all do what can make vittles go away. Clean up after is fun, and quick like with six gal to do. Once finish with that take over to bedroll and get plenty giggle on padding, silk is liked. Dan shoo them off and pull with to lie down so get out of cloth and lie down, and get no roll.

First to wake so do little dance to celebrate, all the gal younger and still wake first. Then go get fire going and ponder what to make. Would do pancake if had enough syrup, Dan like much on his so perhaps half bottle remain, no enough for eight. Check eggs to find am limited on this, only twelve remain.

Have deer can add in but still limited on what can make. Sigh then get to work cut small a bit of deer meat then add in hash brown. Have second pan so crack one egg then get a gal to stir that, they got up while was cut tater. Mix up plenty of tortilla then pass off to the gal, they like cook round eye. Dan join about then and drop tracking leather in lap.

"Dan they no dress." Dan sigh then swat on head.

"Janet I want you dressed so I do not take you back to our bedroll." Give Dan needy eye to get swat again. "I want a roll with you as well, I just don't feel right with Balik here."

Sigh and get in tracking leather though just pants. Balik decide want milk so feed him a little then get shirt on. Dan get to give Balik split pea soup so is nice trade, no much pain at breast and Dan mind Balik.

"This is a great morning." All look at Ralph and giggle.

"How fit all on horse?" Ralph grin and wink.

"Will put one on your pinto with you, Dan and I get two of them. I'd like to get the two that think I am handsome." This amusing to Sioux on account they all giggle.

"Why get one?" Dan look up from Balik.

"You get one because you also get Balik. If you prefer I can take Balik and you get two gals. Course I reckon you will make us stop to sketch a buffalo, easier to do if you only have one."

Well when Dan put like that hard to argue. Course also have vittles done so get to hand out plate. Only get two on account the gal want hand out plate as well. So we sit near fire and have fine vittles. Finished with those we do cleanup fast as blink then get everything on horse then join everything.

Do get one gal and Balik. Also have canvas and charcoal ready on account the buffalo are no far and stand so get to see herd of. Is awe inspiring the size of the buffalo and herd. Luck find a good spot to sketch from, see three buffalo so sketch madly for a spell. Is a right fine sketch and will make for a good paint would reckon.

Once finish get move on for hide town. Can hear Ralph try make fine case for him be good fella to bond with. Gal he talk to is smile though get feel she no bond with Ralph. Back at hide town almost need buy horse, then fella taking hide to train offer help so he get two Sioux gal ride with. He is smile on though no do anything or try convince to bond.

Rather odd but also has us ride fast on account train coming. Seem odd come so fast until recall been three day now, be four day when make to town. Do stop to make vittles, least still have bit of deer meat. Make up stew, also do camp biscuit so is a right fine pause for vittles. Gal also like to learn this, least one return to tribe so camp biscuit easier do around fire.

Just ride on for a spell, is dark out so no go fast but still move quick as safe. Balik sleep, reckon Dan is sleep as well, gal riding in front of Dan is wake at least. Then gal behind nudge and lean in to.

"All of the Apache just sit in reservation?" Shake head.

"Have four Apache as deputy, two are bond. Reckon they have teepee but in town most of day and good part of night. Goodly number work ice machine, make do then take ice around to town so have icebox."

"Icebox?" Look back at her.

"Box with ice set on top, put meat in so is like winter for meat. Have shop that make ice cream, is quite good and two kind, sweet and no sweet."

"So what do if no hunt?"

"For gal is same, make cloth for man, make vittles, keep smile on face. Fella are have trouble with, they set up watch, practice sly move. Group of five go around to patrol reservation to keep from lose to bad round eye. Do hunt, take cavalry with but good round eye."

"Do you think should bond with warrior in town?" Look back at her.

"Gal with deputy is whore in day, use room am use to whore. Other gal is cook in ice cream eatery, two warrior mind."

"So I would whore?" Shake head then shrug.

"Far know no empty room to whore. Perhaps can work in saloon as cook."

"Is there anything else?"

"Have third eatery, theater, and bowling hall. Perhaps can get work in one. Perhaps be open second hotel, would need plenty of folk for."

"Bowling?" Giggle on account is quite like game learn as child.

"Like game learn as child. Have stick down path that roll ball at to get point for which stick fall over."

"Learn the same game."

Just giggle on for a spell, then share licorice and pay attention to land about. We get close to town now so is good though sky not light for a spell. On account train no here and town sleep we go to saloon, which is no sleep. Least no sleep after wake bartender so we get glass of water for us gal while Dan get whiskey.

Sit around for good long spell wait on sky light. No get vittles when eatery open, wait on train and get on when do come. No like though have licorice and chocolate. Dan have jerky that buy in store. Spend much of day on train work on paint, still do the buffalo paint on account already start paint.

Balik seem to be enjoying so many gal about. Is all smile most of time when see, they do play with and keep occupied. Dan help, would swat much if no do. Also help little, mostly when Balik want vittles. Run low on split pea so only have breast for him to feed on, no so happy with that. Course am happy with since no hurt as much.

Is hard to be ma when baby no longer need milk. Breast produce milk still so have pressure build and hurt. Take a bit to stop as well so is hard do, when lost Chad spent good part of time chained to bed with aching breast. Rest of ache along with, for different reason. Finally though am pull to Dan to curl up for sleep.

Next day is more of same, finish paint just a short spell afore train pull in at town with Benjamin. Find Benjamin stand at train station to see who come off in fact. He seem interest in the Sioux gal, know him little so reckon would make good man to bond with so look over gal and smile.

"Benjamin there is sheriff, when was here help with letter for mail order bride. No bride so if wish go speak with." Some giggle but aside look over no move toward.

"Handsome but wish return to tribe, teach rest how cook round eye."

"Honest is nice have house, same as teepee just no take down and carry. Get stove so can do better vittles." All are giggle now.

"Janet are you trying to convince one to marry Benjamin?" Look at Dan to shake head then nod.

"Just little, is nice round eye." Benjamin turn red, get gal to giggle more.

"Adding the gambling hall, do have a town hunter so we are all liking that. There is talk of advertising for a butcher even. Little unsure on that, need to see if we make enough to afford the building for one."

"You make enough, get faro. Is good for house on account is hard to win at."

"I mentioned that to him already, also blackjack and craps." Ponder for moment then go poke Dan.

"Roulette, seem better for house than player but all like."

Dan sigh then swat and pull with for eatery. Sioux gal follow along, with Benjamin come suppose since no bandit shall eat now. Is lunch time would warrant, am hungry least, so is Dan. Hear his belly rumble when go in eatery. Then lose Dan on account he chase after high chair so am left at law table with Benjamin and one gal.

Rest of Sioux head for different table, course table right next to law table, early for lunch. Since is all new to Sioux tell them how eatery work then help Dan get Balik in high chair. Notice Dan fill up jar with apple sauce so pull him over for kiss. Vittles come so we munch on vittles, Dan and Benjamin speak on sheriff thing so get to just enjoy vittles.

After vittles we head for store and Dan in hurry so take clerk attention and get jerky along with candy. Do have plenty gal to keep fed, though Dan leave afore rest are ready. End up looking over book with clerk then get excited when find cookbook. Check pocket to find do have enough monies so pay for cookbook.

Leave store to find Dan take horse to train station so we walk after. Find Dan sit on bench near pen for horse get on train so sit next to then kiss Balik, kick Dan.

"Ouch what was that for?"

"Left store afore was ready, found cookbook, did have enough so buy." Dan sigh and look up.

"Why did you buy a cookbook?"

"For Sioux gal want learn all round eye vittle, reckon need on reservation. They know fire, stove is different."

"Can't read." Look over at her and smile.

"Will teach." Look back at Dan. "When is train?"

"Train will be a couple of hours. Go on and teach her to read."

Turn to gal and teach her read, along with rest of gal. No easy do six gal one book but manage teach word. Take a bit on account need explain what some of the ingredient are. Tater is know but many of rest we use different word for plant. Some plant we no use either so is plenty of giggle over some.

Barely finish teach first recipe when train show up so pause to get on train. Then teach next recipe, and one after. Even start work on third, this one is sweet so no think do but is round eye vittle. Gal pick up word quick like so mostly matter of explain what is, most everything we have different name for, so each thing take a bit on account of explain what go in and how do.

Pause to sleep then go right back to teach on cook round eye. Spend a bit laugh on some thing, like roast. No do roast with fire, instead cut small and put on stick to get lean over fire. Gravy is fun speak on, get most of coach to join and plenty of laugh. Good long spell later get woken by Dan on account we get off here to catch train go Longwood.

Do like this development so collect everything with help and get off train. Collect horse then walk to the saloon. Barkeep has big eye when come in with five Sioux gal and Balik in basket. Sit at bar and no have ask, barkeep go after glass of water for all us gal.

"You know if you two keep showing up here I'll start to think you are the town sheriff and deputy." Snort and giggle.

"Return Longwood from trip to look at buffalo, paint buffalo on two paint along with get great one of lynx catch coney, do afore leap and after walk off to feed cub."
