Longwood Fourth Hunt Day 01-02

We are getting close to chief teepee and no chief outside so reckon not smoke yet. Captain whistles so head appear, Leotie is looking out with shock then duck back in and chief get shoved out. Us gals are giggling about this since chief look a little confused then notice us and gapes.

"Chief your wives have come." Leotie snorts then storms out to swat chief a few times and we are all laughing.

"Gals come to join tribes?" We all nod and chief nods then looks at me and comes closer.

"Janet you are joining tribes?" Roll my eyes and swat chief.

"Nod since you were right. Also need speak to you and captain so both stay. Find guide for the gals first then speak." Chief nods and looks about then whistles.

A number of heads pop out of teepees then go back in. Finally we have a young warrior come running, reckon summer shy of ceremony so make good guide.

"Rabbit show the gals around to the warriors without a wife. Once have shown all this tribe take to next and find new guide." Rabbit nods and moves toward them then recall Bipin.

"Where is Bipin, he no come to meet train?" Chief shrugs.

"Sleep late would reckon, train was early. Rabbit show the gals to Bipin first." Rabbit turns back and nods then leads the gals off.

Chief look about then go back in teepee. Takes a short spell but he come back and wave in so follow captain inside. Look about since first time in Apache teepee and well same as Cherokee that I remember. Chief sits next to Leotie so I sit at angle and cross legs. Captain sit and holds knees getting me to giggle.

"I can't cross my legs like that and walk later." Leotie is giggling as well then lean over.

"Watch when try, he sit a spell and not stay so then stand and almost fall few time." Well laughing now, with Leotie and chief.

"Sorry captain is funny, what wish speak on Janet?"

"Got a bounty in today, want us to go and suppose large gang so reckon may as well take Apache. Just Bipin need stay in Longwood, is deputy and three is good number to stay." Chief nods and smiles.

"If lucky has wife finally." Nod and shrug.

"Like Bipin just not sure can look past teaching on Apache and roll."

"Also married." Wink at Leotie.

"Only since you are with Leotie, chief." Leotie snorts and swats chief some more.

"Should visit more Janet, he is good most of time so no get swat." Chief sighs and shakes his head.

"Honest Janet am tempted to move to far tribe and have them come here." Giggle a bit at that.

"No hurry on, Dan said two day and we go but reckon need Apache warriors. Also need Bipin to stay so need new blooded unless you reckon me and Dan can return the warriors blooded." Chief nods and shrugs.

"Shall get with other chief and talk on later today. Reckon give you three if need take blooded, Elan manage to blood ten with you two and sergeant so little danger but still is custom." Nod and shrug.

"Custom need change would reckon, and wish was not going out after bounty, always leads to slaughter and no nice. Oh and reckon best have warrior with gal since marshal we have is married. Gwen said would recruit one or both of the marshals coming back with Chad and Bonita but reckon is not a sure." Chief sighs and shakes his head.

"Unless the new gals take to one the only unblooded left are young like most of them so no wife. Shall see if can find a gal in tribes, most of the new whores wish move to a different reservation. Reckon go to an Apache reservation this time, or stay here for the new tribe and bring in money for them to do farm with." Captain waves his hand.

"You told me the warriors come of age quite young, the guide was almost ready I think." Chief nods.

"Yes, but they are not ready to do hunt with Janet. Once come of age we then teach how to do what did not learn from games. Usual to not have wife at this time since they do hunt and such, do not always return so gals tend to wait for them to be ready to try for blooded. Sometimes wait for blooded though is less needed now and hard to become." Captain sighs.

"Honest I thought you did the teach afore come of age."

"No, teach games and let run around, give little duties, runner and guide usual. Janet was exception not seen often to do moccasin at five. Gal have easier time of things, most they need know already learn helping mom." Captain nods then looks at me.

"What do gals do after coming of age?"

"With Cherokee we would speak to the warriors and see if can find a man to bond with. Usual give out roll as well to make sure all is to her liking. After that can bond then or wait for warrior to make name for so no bond then lose man." Leotie nods.

"Same with Apache." Captain sighs and shakes his head.

"Honest, I'm glad I don't have to learn everything, just when I think I get it figured out you tell me something new." Giggle a bit.

"Captain we live simple afore reservation. Honest am happier with house, would prefer no bounty but like Dan say is nice get out of town and ride along on trail." Chief shakes his head.

"No can do and honest miss. Find myself wishing a little for old way, but also like new way."

"Chief you can go on the patrol, Leotie may come so can do roll when stop for night." Chief looks at Leotie and gets shrug so smiles.

"Is fine idea, shall take up with chief when we talk on your hunt and who go. How long would patrol take?" Mind on a little and shrug.

"Reckon four day if you go at trot."

"Hunt along way?" Nod and smile.

"Best practice afore you go, warrior laugh if you no shoot coney." Leotie snorts and is laughing, chief sigh and toss up hands.

"Janet you no nice to me." Giggle and grin getting chief to chuckle.

Head on back to Longwood little after that, need to get back and check on Sashi and Balik. Breasts are starting to get toward full again so reckon they will be hungry soon and to me best to use my breasts. Also could use a glass of water, only drank some of the water I had with vittles, been a spell so good to have more.

Andrew waves at me from the office so pop my head in to see if the babes are in here. No babes, Andrew just wanted to complain about having to do all of the paper slips for the belts dropped off. Lament with him on then move on to the saloon after making him laugh, simply mentioned how poor I am at drawing numbers.

McCalbane had taught, but he then made me a wife afore chaining to a bed. No call for a gal knowing how to write down numbers so never practice. Then am in the saloon and pat on Dan as walk past for the kitchen. Amanda practically throws Balik at me so she can help make vittles. Sandwich day so that is on the good side of things though need pull out our roast.

Stop here to feed Balik, Isaac doing same with Sashi. Well not quite the same, he has a bottle full of milk for her. Once am finished feeding Balik I put him back in the little cage they made up for him and put dress back on. Then dart to our house to get out the sandwich roast and cut it up to bring a sandwich to Bartholomew.

Gasp when head to give him the sandwich, there is no pig in here. Know that had not take it over to him afore the train. Have not been home since, but no pig in here and no drag marks so predator has not come in to drag off. Little lost I cross the street and go in to the butcher to find Bartholomew cutting up a pig.

"Janet good timing." He looks at me a short spell and snorts. "Dan brought the pig over little while after the train stopped. Got enough for four good sized hunks of bacon, plenty of chops, and some roasts asides the hocks. Pondering cutting the hocks in half, cuts down on cost to buyer and meat provided but take a big group to need a hock." Snort and giggle.

"Last time sold hocks was to a saloon, reckon they made one up for sandwich and the other for supper."

"Heard tale on the pig, reckon boar the size Dan said one hock is good for sandwich and supper for a saloon." Have to shrug at that.

"No idea, on a hunt we only just cut up the pig and sell most. Don't recall tribe taking a pig neither, was always coney or deer."

"Well afore you pick out a meat Isaac said he wants the ribs. Fen wants a hock, half hock is just as good. Said will make sweet and sour pork with. I enjoy the beef so looking forward to both." Nod and drool a little.

"Well here is your sandwich, should get back to saloon Bipin did not get up afore the train and may have a wife now so Dan alone." Bartholomew nods then frowns.

"Mail order bride?" Snort and shake my head.

"Reckon they would not let an injun sign up to get a bride or be a bride. In this case we got a mess of gals come in to join the tribes, few my age so would look nicely on Bipin."

"Oh that was what you was doing." Nod and giggle.

"Train come early and no Bipin so walked them to the reservation. Forgot about the pig so good Dan walked it over." Bartholomew snorts and grins.

"He had a reason, said he wanted a hunk of bacon for your hunt. Go on over to the saloon need to get the ribs cut."

Nod and leave Bartholomew to his cutting, and sandwich. Town rather on the empty side until go in saloon, chairs are full at poker and blackjack. Mess of people playing craps and roulette as well so reckon Dan is nervous sitting in here on his lonesome. Get over to Dan and get smile out of as hop up on the stool next to.

"Martin and Gwen went to play poker, still no Bipin." Nod and shrug.

"Chief reckon on he not wake up in time for train. Sent the gals over to him first so he may have wife now." Dan snorts and shakes his head.

"Honest I always thought you were so fast to decide you were my wife because of your need." Shake my head and giggle.

"We are fast to get to the bond once do roll, usual to talk to warrior first and get to know then do roll but not always. Once get to older like Bipin and a few of the gals it become more of is he nice, is good at roll, if yes then bond and strive for babe. We no have much longer to get with babe and is important to us gals."

"Janet you gave me one son, is enough. Asides you still have spell longer can get with babe, not even a grey hair yet." Sigh and look down, not looking forward to that.

"Do not want become grey hair Dan, also no want die so reckon have to, but no want." Dan snorts and pulls me over to him.

"I don't want that either, but then again do since we have lived good life." Nod to that then get spun around to find have glass of water.

Reach out and pull that over since do need water. Dan get up since have argument so take big gulp of the water then twist to be facing. Pull coat away from my Colts so they on view and just watch. Dan talks to them some then they decide no argument and sit again. Dan come back and sit for short spell then hops up and gets book to hand to me.

"Current say book, doc said you no read yet and you miss so go ahead and read. Can simply say if you bothered there will be slaughter." Look over at Dan and swat but do giggle and open up the book.

Another of the future stories which do enjoy though course the future stories are not really. Things are different yet still same asides how get places. Find do want to see time when horse is not mode of transport. Reckon no get chance on but would like, also stop doing bounty when happen, little need for tracker when folk soar through the sky instead of walk, ride horse, or take train.

Just sit and read for a spell, is good read, not powerful so far but good. Another argument happen and no look up until Dan over there and point. Look up and the men pale afore sitting so go back down to read and giggle. New people come in afore Dan has come back, though pay no mind to, they will move where want.

"Imagine that a reading injun." Look up and over to see Bipin with a gal and grinning.

"Bipin was late for train." Bipin sighs and looks down.

"Slept in, was here late last night and train was early." Nod and shrug.

"No concern, had Andrew, Dan, and me to mind on folk getting off. Andrew little mind since had to do paper for belts, though his numbers better than mine." Bipin snorts and chuckles.

"Reckon your numbers better than mine." I giggle a bit at that then the gal with Bipin elbows him.

"This is Inayat me gal, well not yet still need do ceremony but name she pick." Inayat smiles.

"Mean kindness and have same already so reckon is proper." Nod and smile.

"Am glad to meet you, Bipin is nice man, Apache so no touch but deserve gal. Bipin if she yell at you in language you no know no teach meaning. Just know you was bad and need apologize." Inayat snorts and giggles.

"Be accident on that happen promise. Brought Inayat along meet you and see if can find work, since am here all day and most night reckon best she is same." Nod and smile at that then Dan come back so point at Dan who get wide eyes.

"I didn't do nothing." Giggle a bit and shake head.

"Bipin got gal now and want to find her work in town so both together and not leave Inayat in teepee alone so long." Dan nods and looks at her short spell.

"Could make deputy would reckon just not sure she has numbers and we got enough for now." Dan looks at me then the kitchen and smiles. "If Inayat is willing see if she can do cook here or with Amanda. Fen has already said they no want a cook unless Chinese." Nod and look at Inayat to get shrug.

"Would need learn how do round eye vittles." Shrug and wink.

"Round eye vittles are easy, aside things like cake and pie is take what have and put together. Some thing are different, roast instead of cut small for stew or have bites on plate."

Inayat smiles so take her hand and lead her into kitchen. Kitchen is big activity, have ribs so Isaac is dashing around along with yelling out orders so every is dash around. Balik wish watch but no see well so go over and pick up. He is big smile and coo at activity, Inayat is big smile as well look at Balik so am smile.

"The dark skin there is Isaac, he make powerful good pie and ribs today. Make powerful good sauce for ribs and some other things. He like teach so you would enjoy in this kitchen. The shorter gal there is Amanda, she is not long for this kitchen, getting ice machine built now with store and eatery. She good cook and enjoy teach though has liking for gal. She has gal already, Chun who is yellow skin though prefer called Chinese." Inayat nods and touches Balik. "Oh and this is Balik, son to me and Dan."

"Hope to have own soon put within." Nod and smile.

"Hoping for daughter next though reckon just have another babe is all can hope for." Amanda snorts and pauses.

"Janet you keep promising to give Dan a daughter." Sigh and shake head.

"Wish daughter, daughter is nice to have." Isaac has stopped moving to look so may as well introduce. "This is Inayat, she is gal to Bipin and wish work in town so not alone in teepee. Dan reckon no need another deputy so she wish learn round eye vittle and help in here or ice machine eatery."

Isaac and Amanda trade a look then get back to dashing. I get put to work making tater salad while they speak on. Seem Isaac not in need of third gal so Amanda need take. Amanda not sure on since have Chun and the other two fellas they hired. Which strikes me as odd since the fellas will bring the orders out to the tables and get them to begin with.

Pause doing the salad to go over to Amanda and swat on head. She just look a short spell then giggles and shrugs.

"Alright so was not sure would need another gal in kitchen. Not plan on doing lots of cook vittles. Chun can mind counter easy, simple matter of put ice cream in cone or make in to sundae."

"So Inayat help make the cone and what you do cook." Amanda sighs and nods.

"Reckon so, alright Inayat you will help me once they finish, the workers swear day or two since about ready to do stain on what not already. Meantime I reckon you can sit in here and mind on the babes. Sashi still down there is from Bonita, daughter to Janet since married Chad her first son." Inayat squeaks.

"The child you was put with afore the long walk?" Nod and sigh.

"When told the elders remain thought he had die, not sure but was what said and no see so could only hope no true." Inayat nods and smiles.

"Is good then that life and return, where is?"

"On a hunt with Bonita, have hunt wait to take me on with Dan so we wait for them to return, two day was said so reckon morrow perhaps we go." Inayat nods and smiles.

"Shall like to meet. Have taken to Cherokee reservation?" Nod and frown.

"Have taken him to learn the man things, surprise you no hear on."

"Was in farthest tribe, not always get told on things since so many there. Chief reckon know since he get with other chief though reckon he no feel important to relate."

"Reckon we got to many tribe in one reservation." Inayat shrugs.

"Long walk bad for us, many tribes reduced to few so simply join to others. Many Cherokee in reservation, not all but most. Also should stop speak on, no longer Cherokee am being made Apache and already enjoy man." Snort and giggle.

"Bipin any good?" Big smile so reckon all need to know on.

"Chun has said she half hopes was Bipin that put her babe within." I groan at Amanda say though Inayat has smile.

"Hope did, mean can give him babe as well." Amanda looks at Inayat, then at me and sighs.

"Janet, take Inayat over to see Mr. Gladstone. Reckon may as well have him check and see if reckon she can." Inayat look at me and look ready to ask so put up hand.

"Mr. Gladstone is a doctor with special interest in our equipment, not for roll. He can tell if we are ready to have babe put within, already have, and swear can sometime know if able or not. Reckon the last is more of a hope on able but is nice to find out." Inayat nods and smiles.

"Cost money?" Nod then sigh.

"Reckon can ask Bipin if not suppose Dan shall pay since Bipin being deputy is part of sheriff tribe."

Take Inayat with me back to see Dan and Bipin who are both frowning at taking her to see Mr. Gladstone and paying for it. So we both shoot plenty of eye daggers at our men and get two sighs then both pull money out. I get five dollars and a reminder on how much to pay for a table cloth, Inayat gets some money and it may be enough.

So we head for Mr. Gladstone's house, and office. Honest I wonder how his wife puts up with it. I reckon I would go mad to have people traipsing in and out of my house all day long. Course it is not that often that people go and see him. He does house calls often since with child means he visits and a few other times.

Knock and step in calling to get Candice coming out of the back with a smile. Mr. Gladstone also appears so all three of us gals head for him and go into his exam room. The bed he has in here is rather interesting, there are foot rests that a gal puts her feet in so he can take a look. Not the most comfortable of places since you spread quite wide to do so.

"Janet I think he finally caught me." Smile up at Candice.

"That is great news, so missed the bleeding time?" Get a nod.

"Elevated temperature as well, combine the two and we have a babe on the way." Look over at Mr. Gladstone and giggle at Inayat's expression.

"Do not worry, he does not have a desire to do more than look. Candice gets all of that sort of attention. He is also a doctor so if Mohin decides you need see a doctor come here." Inayat nods.

"Is not comfortable."

"Apologies on that, needing to do regular doctoring means needed to get a table all can lay on for whatever reason. Have heard there is in development a better table, the stirrups are at the foot of the bed so you will not stretch near as far." Sounds nice just one question.

"Why have you no ordered one?" Mr. Gladstone looks over at me.

"Have, just takes time to have it constructed. Is a new design and the metal parts are not standard. Reckon on not many men are working on construction either, new company."
