Love is a Miracle Ch. 02

CHAPTER TWO

Serenity finished unpacking her clothes at the same time as Jake and Mark finished bringing in her mini-fridge, microwave and computer.

Ashira straightened. "Your bed is made and ready to go. There's time to grab lunch before orientation," she murmured as Serenity pulled out her cell phone. "For God's sakes Serenity, can you go ten minutes without thinking of Gavin?" Ashira asked, a small smile dancing across her lips.

"I just want to let him know I got here okay," Serenity told her mother. "Besides, aren't you and dad the same way?" Serenity shot back. Ashira chuckled.

"I just keep forgetting that you aren't a baby anymore," Ashira murmured. "We'll wait in the hall," she added. Serenity waited nervously for the phone to be picked up.

"Heaven, this is Mira."

"Mira, it's Serenity. I know you're probably busy, but can I speak to Gavin?" Serenity asked. She waited a moment and smiled when Gavin's voice came over the line. "I'm here, and unpacked," Serenity said, some of her anxiety lifting.

"You'll enjoy college Ser, I promise," Gavin told her.

"I'd enjoy it more if you were here," Serenity said. Gavin laughed.

"I'll be there in a few weeks, I promise," Gavin assured Serenity. "I have to go, we're getting backed up. I love you," Gavin said.

"I love you too," Serenity murmured before Gavin hung up the phone.

-Two weeks later-

"C'mon girl, what are you doing working on that homework assignment? It's Friday night!" Serenity looked up from her history book to find her roommate Josie standing over her.

"I know it's Friday night, but my boyfriend is coming up this weekend and I want to get as much homework in as I can before he gets here," Serenity said, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.

"I can't wait to meet him, he's such a hottie," Josie told Serenity. Serenity's eyes narrowed.

"Keep your claws away from him Josie," Serenity warned.

"Relax chica! I just want to meet him, not fuck him," Josie laughed. Serenity shook her head and they both looked up at a knock on the door. Josie opened the door. "Can I help you?" she asked, searching their visitor's face.

Finally, recognition dawned on her. "You're Gavin," Josie said with a smile. He nodded as Josie let him in.

"You're here early!" Serenity exclaimed. Gavin nodded.

"I was driving Mel crazy and she told me to get my ass out of Heaven and not come back until Tuesday," Gavin confessed. Serenity laughed.

"That sounds like Mel," she agreed.

"Heaven?" Josie asked.

"My step-mother's restaurant. Josie, this is Gavin Wells. Gavin, this is Josie LeRoux, my sex crazed roommate," Serenity introduced.

Josie laughed. "And on that note, I have to meet Jeff for dinner and maybe more," Josie said, winking at Serenity.

The minute the door closed, Serenity locked it. "You have thirty seconds for those clothes to come off or so help me God, we'll need to go shopping," she threatened. Gavin laughed.

"I don't need that long," he said, pulling his shirt over his head and kicking off his jeans and boxers. Gavin grabbed Serenity by the waist and carried her over to the bed. He pushed her dress up over her hips and slid her thong down her legs. "I missed you," Gavin said, breathing harshly as he slid tenderly inside her.

"I missed you too," Serenity moaned, meeting him thrust for thrust.

She cried out as he nibbled on her neck, trailing hot kisses down her neck until his lips were closing over a nipple. Serenity could feel Gavin's cock harden more and begin to pulse. "Gavin wait!" she gasped. It was too late, and Gavin came deep inside her.

"What's wrong?" Gavin asked, rolling them over to lay on their sides, still deep inside her.

"I was sick a few weeks ago and they put me on penicillin," Serenity said haltingly.

"So?" Gavin asked, confused.

Serenity pulled away and reached into her night stand and handed him a small round packet. "What's this?" he wanted to know.

"Birth control. Mel put me on it three months before I turned eighteen," Serenity answered.

Gavin smiled. "So what's wrong?" Gavin asked gently.

"It can sometimes be less effective when used with certain types of antibiotics," Serenity told him. Gavin sat up as Serenity's words hit him like a bucket of cold water being dumped over his head.

"I'm sorry, I should have said something," she murmured.

Gavin swallowed. "It's okay. If anything happens, we'll deal," Gavin promised. Serenity smiled a little and popped a pill into her mouth. "You hungry?" Gavin asked, laughing as Serenity's stomach rumbled.

"Famished," Serenity said.
